This guy knows his stuff!! Nick came out and provided a quote for my EV charger. His quote was quite a bit less than the first quote I received from another electrician. The install was clean and quick. Happy I found him.

Was happy to go with Knick Electric. Needed a panel change after I bought a new home with only a 100amp electrical panel. I was upgraded to a 200amp. This will allow me to add a game room like I have always wanted. Thank you, Knick Electric, for helping me upgrade my home. Saved the permitted paperwork as you recommended.

Nick was so easy to work with. He installed my mini-split AC unit and it was a breeze. He was really creative with his solutions and the work looks really nice and clean. Will absolutely be having him do all of my future electrical work.

We’ve suffered ongoing issues with our SUNPOWER and double inverter SunVault battery wall since installation in June 2023. Our system is more complicated than most due to the double battery wall being located over 160 feet from the SUNPOWER PVS “brain” hub. Our system never worked properly and was decommissioned in July 2024. At this time, SUNPOWER also improperly installed a replacement PVS in our system’s control hub. The long and short of this is that our system was rendered inoperable as it was decommissioned…and just a couple weeks prior to SUNPOWER declaring bankruptcy. I spent five months attempting to figure out a solution and to no avail. It was my great fortune to have stumbled upon Nicholas Opdyke and his engineering team. He came out the next day, discovered the wiring issue in the improperly installed PVS.,and made other repairs. His engineer, John, was able to recmission the entire system, including solar panels and the double battery wall. Our system is now up and running and fully operational for the first time since installation! I could not be more delighted with the professionalism and skills offered by Nicholas and his team! Five stars is insufficient to express our satisfaction and I give Nicholas my highest recommendation.

I recently had Nick come out to service my electrical panel and help me trace where the breakers went. He also ran a line to bring electricity to an outbuilding in the back of my property. From start to finish, Nick was incredibly professional and demonstrated an impressive attention to detail.

Excellent service with qualified engineering support to facilitate resolution of repair of my solar system, including battery repair and gateway replacement. System is now functioning 100%.

I initially approached the decision to hire Kick Electric with some trepidation. I have a SunPower SunVault system that has been inoperative for an extended period; it ceased functioning prior to the bankruptcy of SunPower, which was unable to rectify the issues while it was still a solvent company.

However, Nick's methodical approach to his work alleviated my concerns almost immediately. He provided clear explanations of each step in the process and welcomed my presence as he conducted his tasks. Remarkably, he succeeded in restoring the functionality of the SunVault system, which had remained non-operational for two years.

In light of this positive experience, I intend to contact Nick first for any future electrical issues.

I have a SunPower solar system with two batteries.
It has been down since February.
NOBODY had a solution or were willing to come out and attempt to fix it.
Nick and John at Kick Electric were fantastic. John found a faulty Cat 5 cable that would not allow a board to communicate. Replaced it and the system came up!
John went on to test all systems to make sure everything was good. Updated firmware for the main board. Set up access from their side so they can monitor my system.
Comcast took down my WiFi for two days and the system did not reboot. John walked me through rebooting the system and it is purring away!

Kick Electric was able to correct, in one visit, a problem with my SunPower (the original SunPower) SunVault backup batteries. Several other companies were not able to address this over 8+ months. Kick Electric was efficient, effective, and professional. I highly recommend.

If you need a project done quickly, efficiently, well done and reasonably priced you definitely need to hire kick electric. Whole house was re-wired, replaced my 100 amp service to an upgraded solar ready 200 amp service to make room for my EV charger which Kick electric also installed. Permiting process from start to finish was done in a timely manner. Now I’m able to add solar in the future also. Couldn’t be more grateful for the outstanding work done by Nick and his business.

Hiring the right people made all the difference! I have a Sunpower solar and storage system. After a long, drawn-out installation by SunPower’s original installers over multiple visits and 7 months, eventually SunPower went bankrupt while the system was still unfinished. I found Kick Electric through Reddit, they came out, fixed a bunch of problems and errors and everything was working at the end of just one day, including a panel upgrade that was in the contract but SunPower just hadn’t done at all. All around, it was an efficient, effective, and professional job by Nick, John, and Chris with Kick Electric.

I have a Sunpower Sunvault battery that stopped working two weeks after Sunpower went bankrupt. Zero lights, zero charging, the battery was completely dead. I tried about 4 Bay Area companies, none of which could help so I assumed it was a write off. A friend of a friend then put me in touch with Nick who came over to the Peninsula. And to my amazement in 3 hours he managed to completely fix it. I am so delighted, and would definitely have Nick over again, and would encourage people with issues with their Sunpower system to reach out in case he can help.
