Hi all, I wanted to let you know how wonderful my General Contractor David Rodriguez is. He is the owner of Rooftopia LLC. My Mother-in-Law is very picky (that is an understatement). Anyhow, she needed a new roof, and some interior work done in her bathroom. David met with her and outlined everything he was going to do and the cost. He was also helpful with helping us navigate through homeowner's insurance. His estimate was within reason, and she decided to use his company. She is thrilled with his work. David and his crew are professional to say the least. Everything was clean and neat afterward. My husband and I decided to have David work on our house, that got damaged from Hurricane Helene. David replaced all of our siding, replaced our roof, took care of damage inside, and painted. I can not thank him or his crews enough for the beautiful job.

They did such a beautiful job on our roof deck building a custom cabinet with built in fridge. The quality was perfection and they exceeded our expectations on timing and service.

Excellent experience from start to finish in updating our garage-top deck. Design process was helpful, work was done in a timely and conscientious fashion. Everything was transparent. Communication was great. Would highly recommend.

I had a relatively small project, but appreciated the thoughtfulness and attention to detail put into the design. Execution was flawless. Really good communication with the project manager and day to day team. Very happy with the outcome and will be sure to use them again when I update my other deck!

Jen and Marcin, and their amazing crew, completed a very challenging balcony deck for me. It was challenging from a political and engineering perspective.

I have a townhome with a balcony deck that has been sitting unused for 5 years, because of the complicated process of getting an HOA approval.
I went through numerous contractors but they were all immediately discouraged by the HOA process.
I was also looking specifically for contractors that can use pedestals for the flooring, in order to preserve the roof membrane.
Jenn and Marcin accepted the project without a single doubt and were very enthusiastic in helping me with the challenge.
They had to work with the HOA engineer and my architect in order to get the HOA and city permit approval.

Their talent doesn't stop with maneuvering challenging political roads, but they are also incredibly creative thinkers and problem solvers!
The city required the existing balcony parapet wall to be raised in order to meet current code, and the HOA required that no penetrations be made to the existing structure.
Rooftopia's metal working crew is top talent! They were able to engineer a metal railing that didn't require securing to the existing parapet wall and it looks absolutely stunning.
The pedestal system and pavers they recommended are both incredibly practical and beautiful.

It is rare to see so many different talented people in such a small company, but Rooftopia is the one place that gets really close to being a true utopia.

The design is fantastic, the team was professional, the attention to detail is great and everything was done on time. But I want to mention something else.

The way they engineered this is incredible. They actually built the entire pergola in a way didn't touch the membrane of the roof. It connects to the wall (through bolts and pressure plates) so that I have 0% concern about water. It's amazing.

I did a rooftop project once with another company. It was a horrible experience and way more expensive than projected. But worst of all, it leaked. I lived in fear after that I'd see water stains on the ceiling. I have none of that fear with the work that Rooftopia did.

They were the highest bid and the right choice. If you talk to them, listen carefully to their advice and take their recommendations. The expense is totally worth it.

We have a side patio in our duplex down condo in Uptown on the North Side of Chicago. When we purchased our property, the patio was a dated-looked exposed aggregate nightmare with a drainage problem. When we began looking for companies to remove the concrete and re-design the space, we contacted nearly 20 companies. We ended up choosing Rooftopia because of their sterling reputation and the ease of communication, as well as their innovative ideas and respect for our budget limits.

I literally cannot praise this company enough. They completed the project on time, on budget and kept us consistently updated the entire time. They pay great attention to detail and dealt very well with some last minute changes in the plan and complications.

If you are having an urban landscape or patio completed, don't let the name Rooftopia make you think that they just do rooftops. They did a better job with our outdoor patio space than I could imagine and better than what we would have gotten with a typical landscaping company. Our patio is literally the envy of all of our friends and people keep telling us it looks like something out of an HGTV television program. The difference between what it was before and what it is now is remarkable.

On top of everything else, they are very honest and ethical people and truly want to do a good job. I could tell that they actually wanted us to be happy with our space and wanted us to have exactly what we wanted. They were very flexible and very, very easy to work with.

I would recommend this company to anyone. They are AMAZING.

Rooftopia built and installed a new awning, balcony rail, and gate door for us and we could not be more happy. They did an amazing job. We wanted something industrial and modern but still feel like home. They came up with a clean look using both a warm cedar and heavy steel.

Their communication was always clear and punctual, and their crew was very pleasant to have on sight.

Jenn and her team are top notch, responsive, creative, incredibly flexible and a joy to work with. Everything is custom and tailored to you, they aren't afraid to experiment, take inspiration or adapt their big scale builds to smaller scale or paced out projects. All of her team members were awesome, professional and respectful of our space. They finished the project on time, on budget and delivered high quality and unique final pergola construction. We get so much more use out of our deck now with the new pergola. With their team you're always going to get a personal, stylistic match, but our favorite part about the design was how they took inspiration from our love of Portuguese and Morrocan tiles and created custom metal screens to our pergola. We recommend them without hesitation for any of your urban landscaping projects.

Jenn and her team were excellent. Very respectful of our home and rooftop space. She was quick to respond to our estimate request and provided a range of options that would work with our budget. I highly recommend Jenn and the team at Rooftopia for urban garden needs. For the past several years they have been managing for me a roughly 3000 sf rooftop Japanese garden and have done a fantastic job. Rooftopia have taken on tasks ranging from regular maintenance to redesign and reconstruction of a complex irrigation system and hardscape improvements. The team are consistently knowledgeable, on time, professional and highly dependable.

Rooftopia worked with us to find a design that worked for our needs- they listened to our priorities and quickly came up with the perfect design. Their communication was great while they were working, letting us know on a daily basis when they were coming and going as well as what had been completed that day. Beautiful work on our deck. The team at Rooftopia has an incredible design aesthetic and a team that can really implement. Any issues that came up, they were immediately responsive.
