James was AWESOME! He came to our house in Charlestown to install a heater in our bathroom. Thinking it was going to be an easy and quick job....couldn't have been further from the truth. It's an old house and studs are not where they are supposed to be, cross beams appear out of nowhere, water pipes take 90 degree turns just for the heck of it, not one but TWO faulty heaters and a few trips back and forth to Home Depot and the job was done. James was extremely professional, honest and stuck to his quote (even though he had to do a ton of extra work). I would give James 6 stars if I could. I would HIGHLY recommend James to anyone looking for a great electrician.

I'm a first time home owner and had some lights short out a month after moving in. I called James and rather than send someone out immediately, he spent 10 minutes on the phone with me, having me turn off and on each breaker, and explaining how it worked with the test button. It turned out the problem was that the previous owners mislabeled the breaker and somehow labeled dining room to be the bedroom, so I was flipping the wrong breaker! Really appreciate the help and it was free of charge - would definitely call back if another problem arises.

James is FANTASTIC! We had a problem that no other electrician would take on. The project was more significant than expected ( old house and a surprise hornet problem), but he didn't change the quoted price on us. Another huge plus - he managed to get eversource to fix their end of the issue after we had attempted several times with no luck. For dog owners - he was great about keeping the gates closed, which is always a big worry and even let them out to pee on an evening while we were out! Highly recommend!

I am actually giving a 5-star review to an electrician I never used--and here is why. I recently purchased a portable air conditioner for my daughter at college in a Boston apartment. Unfortunately, the plug on the unit broke and I struggled to find anyone to take care of this problem. The appliance store I purchased it from along with the authorized repair center were less than helpful and I kept getting the run around. Meanwhile, temperatures in the city were rising and my daughter and her dog were entering a dangerous situation. I contacted James based on his great reviews. He was very honest with me on what could and could not be done with the unit, but he also recommended a portable unit that he has purchased for himself. He took a picture of the unit and sent some contact information. I did purchase the unit and my daughter (and her dog) are very happy. Here's the best part-James actually followed up with me a fews days after our initial call to see if everything worked out. Amazing!

I needed to have a new carbon monoxide / smoke detector installed ASAP. ( My old one was old and needed to be replaced) I called James at 8:30PM at night, expecting to make an appointment for the following day! Imagine my surprise when he said he was on the road and could stop by to install the detector! ( I live in South Boston ). WOW! He came, installation took a short time! He was professional, pleasant and had a great sense of humor! He explained everything about the detector and said if there were problems to call him again! Not only will I call him again, I recommend to everyone to use his services. He is GREAT!

James is awesome!!! I called him from Virginia for a client in the Boston area, I liked his kind tone on the phone from the start. He took the time to listen to me and he went out to the client's place of business a few days later. He successfully identified the issue and gave me careful instructions to pass onto the client to prevent the problem from reoccurring. This is why I love to deal with small companies over large corporations, you get that personal touch which results in overall better communication and service. We didn’t find James, but he found us. Coincidentally, it was just when we needed him. We were looking to have our electrical outlets wired and breakers installed at our store, Bread ‘n Butter International Market. Within minutes of speaking with James, we were able to get an appointment scheduled within the same week. He was professional, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and most of all, timely. He was able to have everything done and have our appliances working the same day and left the place just how he found it. No questions asked, we will be in contact with James for any electrical needs in the future. Great guy with a positive attitude!

James was wonderful! He started by helping me over the phone trying to diagnose the problem; he wanted to see if there was a simple solution that he could walk me through and save me the cost of an electrician. Once we knew I needed professional help he arrived quickly and charged me a *very* reasonable rate for the amount of time he was here. Once he discovered an issue with the wiring outside my house that the electric company needed to address he called them, got them to come ASAP, and stayed here longer than necessary on a weekend (no additional cost) to make sure there were no problems with their work. He was remarkably patient and answered all the questions my 8-year old asked him about the work he was doing and the work Eversource was doing. He is a very kind person who knows his stuff; I recommend him whole heartedly

James did an amazing job with the lighting and electrical installation in my new shop. Very pleased with his work. He made sure I was comfortable with where the lights would go and went above and beyond to help me identify little things that really give my shop that wow factor.

I called James at 4:40 in the afternoon with a problem related to our circuit breaker in a very old home. He walked my husband and me through the issue until it was resolved. He was clear, kind and helpful!

He gave me good advice but when he realized I didn't need him he hung up..or maybe his phone hung up 😂😂

My first time hiring James which was in August of 2020. I hired him to install my smart door bell. Everything went well no complaints.

I hired him again for two other jobs. One to install a light switch at my house so I can turn my Christmas lights on from the inside. I also referred him to my parents to fix an outdoor sensor light. He did both jobs. I realized a month later that my inside switch that he installed did not work. It would not turn my Christmas lights on or off. I called and text James multiple times asking when he will be able to swing by and fix the issue. He said he would swing by Thursday night December 3rd. I was home and he never showed. He texted me saying he was sorry and that the weekend would be better for him. I texted him on Saturday morning December 5th, no response no reply. I called him Sunday morning December 6th and left a voice message. No response no reply.

In business, customer service means everything!!! Saying what you mean and meaning what you say. Being consistent, honest and trustworthy is golden and hard to come by. For anyone reading this always ask for referrals, check references and ensure you hire the best and not have to deal with the BS run around. I will be finding a more reliable electrician moving forward. God Bless!

He might be the best electrician in the world, but I couldn't get a phone call returned. A waste of time.
