I couldn’t be more impressed with the service I received! My central air conditioning suddenly stopped working during a heat wave, and Air Solutions came through like a true hero. They were quick to respond, incredibly professional, and diagnosed the issue right away. Not only did they fix the problem efficiently, but they also took the time to explain what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future.

Thanks to the company for their thoughtful response. Indeed, a company must take numerous factors into account when setting a price. My disagreement over price should not to be construed as a reflection of the company's honesty.

I do stand by my criticism of the technician's behavior after I declined the $150 price for the pin replacement, but that is directed towards the technician individually, and not the company.

ORIGINAL REVIEW

I've searched for an honest/reasonable HVAC company, and Air Solutions came close, but fell short in the final moments; hence 4 stars. Learn from my experience about where you're vulnerable in these negotiations.

Air Solutions was upfront about phase 1 of the pricing: $450 to find the leak. From there, to fix the leak and replenish refrigerant would cost more, depending on what the problem is. So far so good.

The technician found a leak - a faulty Schrader valve whose pin needed to be replaced, which he did on the spot. It took all of one minute.

Air Solutions said they'd charge me $100 per pound of lost refrigerant, and if I agreed to that, they'd include the pin replacement for free. I said I'd like a few days to measure my line sets so we can put in the correct amount of refrigerant. I asked him for the price of the pin so I could pay what was due for now.

The rep said it'd be $150 for the new pin.

Basically, it was between two options: "do the refrigerant recharge now, or pay the $150 for the pin." I opted to just pay the original $450 and part ways.

At that point, the technician was directed to remove the new pin and put the broken one back. What annoyed me was that right before undoing his work, I asked him to show me again which valve was leaking, because I wanted to double check, and he deliberately pointed to the wrong one - twice (so this wasn't an accident). Then he ignored any of my attempts at further conversation. You'd think after $450, he'd at least answer truthfully about where the leak is? This behavior is what prompted me to write this review.

So I made sure to stay and watch him undo the job and figured out which is the correct valve (it was the other one). I bought a schrader pin remover & pins on Amazon for $16.99, and installed the new pin myself in 5 minutes.

Worst service ever!!! It took them 5 days to come and check and "repair" my unit, 7 days later it broke again, as their policy states "warranty labor and part" I have been waiting for week and still do not have date schedule for them to check the unit again.
