I live in Maryland and was so happy to get a flyer saying BGE would be trimming my trees near the power lines. I called the number before they came just to get more info and Chad from Lewis came to my house within minutes to take a look at my property and tell me what they would be doing. The crew just came a few days ago and did a fantastic job. They trimmed a Holly tree and removed dead wood from my huge 80 foot oak tree that was hanging over the power line. The crew was extremely professional, and used only ropes to climb to the top of the tree with of course NO spikes! Super impressive and little scary to watch, I don't know how they do it I know I couldn't. Anyway very happywith the service and the clean up:)

This company was contracted by ComEd to clear power lines of branches in IL during late summer, and were great to work with. We have some huge 100-200 year old oak trees that they wanted to trim. Given that power companies care about power lines (not the aesthetics of trees), I expressed my concerns about oak wilt, what the trees would look like after trimming, etc. These oaks, to me, are the crown jewel of our property. They were extremely nice--they went of over which branches absolutely needed to go, and which ones could stay. They also rescheduled the trimming to November to alleviate my concerns about oak wilt.

I understand the power company's job is to provide reliable power with minimal interruptions, and have the final say on tree removal--so it was nice they Lewis Tree Service was so accommodating.

My wife and I are in Valdosta GA for a managent meeting for the company I work for. We are staying in a local hotel and noticed several of you're Company Trucks in the Parking lot. We Both wanted to say THANK YOU for taking time away from your families (1,200 miles away)to help clean up from Hurricane Helene. Tree Service companies 'Arborist" do not get recognized as much as Lineman and first responders. We are Grateful for your service and aiding in the clean-up efforts of Lowdens County GA! I had taken a couple of photos to share but it won't let me post them on here.

Anival and Jose were very helpful and professional! We live near a busy highway and we were forced to install an electric wire fence around the perimeter of our house for our dog's safety. They accidentally cut the wire, that wasn't well marked, while clearing tree limbs from the electrical lines. Instead of a huge argument that I had expected, they offered to fix it themselves right then! Real decent people are a rarity these days and I am very grateful!

Lewis Tree services did an excellent job cutting down a huge tree in my backyard and moving everything neatly to the street. Their precision was outstanding, and they worked very efficiently while also being kind and professional. Cleanup was thorough, and You can tell they takes pride in doing things the right way. I highly recommend Lewis tree service!

The Electric Company (AES, formerly Dayton Power and Lighting) hired Lewis Tree Service to trim the trees around the power lines in our area.

The first problem, nobody knocked or alerted us they were present. My girlfriend looked out the window to find a stranger completely cut out 10 foot of our privacy hedges (unnecessary as the privet hedges never get taller than 10 feet). In the decades the hedges have been here, no routine trimming or tree service ever cut them - the lines are 20-25 foot off the ground.

The second problem, as I'm at work, my girlfriend goes out to talk to them. Finds out who they are and why they're here. Explains the situation with the privets, nicely asks them to stop cutting them out and to call a supervisor to talk to if they decide they need to cut them again. The trimmer agrees. Two hours later, they're cutting 10 additional feet of privacy hedges out of the other side of our yard anyway. At this point, the neighbors are outside, furious/yelling at the trimmers. They finally call a supervisor.

The third problem. The sheriff shows up to assess the situation and explain they need to leave. The trimmer my girlfriend originally talked to suddenly no longer speaks English and they blame that as the reason for the issue.

Had the sheriff not shown up, they were planning to cut out an additional 20ft of hedges and spray vegetation-killer in that area. They also failed to trim one of the trees at my neighbor's place actively growing through the power lines after moving through our neighborhood. My guess is they were upset he was one of the neighbors yelling to them.

Edit 6/7/21: Lewis Tree Service reached out after this issue to make the problem right. Despite the issues that occurred, I respect their group and willingness to work on it.

Apparently these 'pro's are contracted out by West Penn Power for power line right of way clearing. We received NO warning whatsoever of them showing up and taking over my driveway. Then to complain to my wife and daughter they needed one of my vehicles moved and wouldn't move their trucks so my daughter could leave until my other car was moved. Over 6 hours now and we can't even get back up our driveway.
All of this could have been avoided had ANY type of notice was given.

I am so disappointed with this company and so will you!! Duke Energy arranged for this company to come out and cut a tree that was resting on an electric line.
I mistakenly trusted one of this companies employees who asked me if he could leave the cut down tree on my lawn and pick it up on the next few days because they were behind on a large job.
I gave the employee my telephone number so that i could give them access through a gate but I did not get a call.
I called Duke and they said they would get in contact with this company to sort it out. I still have the tree on my lawn and my grass looks terrible.

I will be contacting my congressman or whoever I need to to get this fixed when I get home next week.
If the company wants to get in contact with me they can. I can provide pictures and show them the damage.
My next step is if I do not hear anything from them is to find out what legal path I can take to get this issue resolved. Under no circumstances should you pay attention to what their employees say, watch them closely and do not let them leave until they clear their mess up.

These not so professional tree cutters came to my town and either cut everyone’s tree directly in half or in a ridiculous V shapes. They were hired by a power company to completely cut our trees in the neighborhood. I live in an older part and the trees hold up the power lines, they have for years with no issues. I was told by the team leader that they had to cut my trees because folks in the NEW neighborhoods are having power outages and issues and it was due to OUR trees blocking the power on the power lines. The bigger problem was the amount of my trees that were cut. We depended on the trees for shade in our front yard and the front of our home. Now we have nothing but sun coming into our home. I told the team leader who kept mansplaining to me I was wrong, that my home is going to over heat. He said sun heating up a home is a myth. Well my home is very hot and now my air conditioner has had a power surge and no longer works and I live in Texas. The tree service also left all my smaller lines just hanging very low to the ground. The team leader tried to sound like he knew what he was doing, but obviously had no clue.

Lewis tree service knows nothing about trees other than how to harm them. If they need to prune tree limbs for power lines, then be prudent and thoughtful of the tree. They don't care. They randomly hack off branches with no careful practice. They even smashed huge tree branches in their hoist. This is egregious!

DTE contracted Lewis Tree Service to trim trees away from power lines in my neighborhood. The crew that invited themselves onto my property absolutely butchered the delicate arborvitae that provides a natural boundary between my neighbors and I. And when asked to temporarily stop their hack job in order to speak with a supervisor, they just laughed about it and refused to call their supervisor. Completely unprofessional company that should never go anywhere near a tree again.

Update - After filing an official complaint, a site supervisor came to the house a week later.
Response: “Yep, damage is already done, sorry. That’s the way your power company (DTE) wants it”.

In June 2021, this company was hired by AEP (Indiana & Michigan Power) to trim trees around our town of Constantine, MI, which were interfering with power lines. When they arrived at our house (approx. 10:30 am) they asked if they could move their trucks onto our property to better access some of the trees. I gave them permission, believing they would do the job and be gone. While one was parking a truck on my side lot and another was backing the chipper down my driveway, I looked up and saw the rest of the crew walking up from my backyard which runs along the river. There was absolutely NO reason for them to be back there. They then went to work. At 11:10, I noticed it was again quiet, I looked out to see two guys sitting in the truck. I guessed it was lunch time. At about 12:45, I went out to inquire what was the delay. They said "We go back to work at 1:00...lunch is till 1." That's a 2 hour lunch!! At 1:10 the other workers showed up and they went back to work...for about another 30 minutes, then all was silent again. I went outside to find both trucks abandoned, with doors wide open, and no workers anywhere to be found. The workers had walked down the street "to check out tomorrow's job"! Meanwhile the trucks are in my yard and blocking my driveway. For a month we have watched them going through our neighborhood being extremely unprofessional and lazy. If this is truly an employee owned company, I feel there must be other employees who are getting short changed.

They were hired by Duke Energy to cut limbs near the power lines near my home. I was going to let 1 of my dogs out in our fenced-in backyard and saw this guy getting out of the trucks bucket In my backyard. He nor the other guy asked to enter the yard. Had I let my dog out this guy could very well have gotten bitten. My brother, who owns the house called Duke to inform them of the situation. They were very apologetic. However, this doesn't change the fact that had my dog bit him she would have to be quarantined for several days. Add the fact she is a pitbull she may have had to be put down. Had I had to put my dog down due to his Ignorance I would have sued both Lewis and Duke. All because the guy trespassed into my yard. He also dropped tree debris on both of the hoods of my brothers' trucks. Thankfully no damage was done to either truck.

Our power company hired Lewis Tree Service to trim trees in our area of WV. They came through cutting branches and pretty much making a mess of things. They came through 3 weeks ago. And they are now back again. Randomly driving around. Parking on back roads, doing nothing. Then a supervisor will show up in a pick up truck and off they all go. When asked if they were going to clean up what they trimmed, "the power company will come mow it". As they threw the branches deeper into my woods. Lowest bidder I guess. And it shows.

Unbelievable lack of willingness to attempt civility in regard to their communication with homeowners. Hostile, arrogant attitude towards the property owner. Multiple attempts to communicate that we are on task and under contract with professional tree service that comes quarterly to be sure trees are healthy and trimmed away from power lines.

I respectfully asked them to leave and to come back next week after our arborist has done his work. The supervisor scoffed and said it was illegal for my arborist to trim my trees away from their power lines. More than a dozen workers stormed my property like law enforcement after being asked to leave. They proceeded to butcher my trees.

This company based in New York is wreaking havoc on behalf of Oncor, property rights be damned!

This company is being subcontracted by FPL in Miami to clean out tree that are supposed to be close to the power lines . Not sure want instructions they are being given because the totally destroyed several of my palm tree in my back yard which were not close to the lines ,They have no clue on "how to properly trim trees "
I am currently contacting the FPL QA department for claims . I tried calling Lewis tree service but have not heard back as expected . Extremely unprofessional !

Company hired by Centerpoint to trim trees in Pasadena, Tx….a couple of employees targeted an elderly woman at her home and were trying to collect $150 in cash or Zelle for a service that is being provided by Centerpoint!! THIEFS!!! Fire them!!!!! 😡

Apparently contacted by power company to clear limbs for power lines, they were here today, 4/7, and left debris and logs from a tree they took down off to the side of my yard. Coming back for debris? I have no way of moving logs!!! They had a chipper and didn’t clean up as they should.

These guys were in the neighborhood doing work for someone, and apparently decided to use our front lawn as the staging area for all their equipment and then proceed to have a lunchtime picnic 20 feet in front of our house. I was at work at the time and got a frantic call from my wife who was very upset and unnerved that four strange men were just hanging out on our lawn like it was a public park. At no point did anyone make themselves known or ask for permission to be on our property, absolutely unacceptable!
