here’s my updated feedback after getting my chimney cleaned in baytown. i had my chimney swept just before the holidays. the technician, nicolas, was really polite and seemed to know a lot about chimneys. first, nicolas climbed up and checked out the top of the chimney, then showed me some pictures of what he found, like a bit of wood damage up there. he brought in a big vacuum and used a tarp to keep everything tidy while he cleaned out the fireplace area. nicolas also pointed out a crack on the floor and the back wall inside my chimney. i already knew about this crack, and had heard it could cost a few hundred dollars to fix, but nicolas offered to seal it for just $40. he explained it was a temporary fix, but said it should last quite a while since i don’t use my fireplace much. overall, nicolas was really honest and didn’t try to sell me anything extra. he even gave me tips on small things i could do myself, and made sure the area was spotless before leaving. since baytown gets pretty hot most of the year, i don’t use my fireplace all that often. even though the chimney is much cleaner now, there’s still a little more smoke than i’d like when i do light it up. i’m not sure what’s causing it, but everything else about the service was great. they did ask for reviews from customers, but didn’t tell me what to say. i think it’s fair, because people with good experiences don’t always leave reviews, and feedback really helps local businesses. overall, i’m happy with the work and would definitely recommend their chimney sweep services.
