My elderly parents had a small water leak in their basement that went undetected for a week or two they were worried about toxic black mold. I call pnw mold testing he didn’t sell me anything just told me what we needed to do to fix it. Ben really knows houses.

Ben Was very professional.We needed an Inspection ASAP. He came to Shelton Did a quick thorough examination and we were able to Purchase our new home.

Wish I would have used PNW Mold Testing to begin with. When you find mold in your home it's always concerning. So I searched the internet, called about 10 different companies, asked a ton of questions and ended up going with Mold Test Company (Yes, that's its name). To be honest nearly everyone has mixed reviews. Mold Test Company sent out an inspector, he was late, and they tested my air quality in the house, outside and swabbed my HVAC intake. Results came back with signs of Aspergillus/Penicillium. They set up a call and tell you it's not to bad but they need to get you over to a company that can get you the kit you need, that'll be $3600. They then got really irritated that I didn't immediately ask them to ship it out and went down the "you should just have a mold remediation company come out, they'll charge you around $12,000 - $20,00). Red flag pressure sale. Looking into it they own the company they want to send me over to. I decided to pause and call someone.

In comes Ben Howard from PNW Mold Testing. I called and asked if I could talk through my situation. I told him I would happily pay him for his thoughts, didn't ask for anything. I shared my situation, the results from the lab and he gave me his thoughts. Never did he tell me the Mold Test Company did anything wrong or were shady (which I think they are). He just provided his expert opinion and thoughts and what he thought I needed to do. Which was significantly less expensive than what Mold Test Company wanted me to do.

Guess who I will be calling to come do a follow up test once I remediate the issue on my own per his thoughts. While he hasn't actually done any work for me yet, I will absolutely use him in the future.

Lastly, make sure your inspector is truly independent and not associated with any lab, remediation company or law office. My mistake.

I had water coming into my basement. Ben was able to diagnose the problem quickly (mole holes in my yard!), and he saved me thousands of dollars because he found a simple fix, and took care of it himself. It is refreshing to work with someone who isn’t just trying to get you to spend more money!

Highly recommend PNW Mold Testing. Scheduling was easy and quick. I called Tuesday and had an inspection completed by Thursday afternoon. Ben was more thorough than expected. In addition to inspecting the house, he checked the crawl space and attic. Good thing because the attic had quite a bit of mold damage. Pricing was fair. Ben was extremely knowledgeable and provided helpful mitigation tips, hacks, and guidance. The whole experience gave me peace of mind. I would definitely use PNW Mold Testing & Inspecting again.

Ben was very helpful in checking out my parent’s house and basement for mold. He is extremely knowledgeable and took extra time explaining ways to improve the property. He took lab samples and walked us through the findings. Great experience overall. I would highly recommend him for mold testing and service.

Ben was incredibly helpful when I called him in a panic after we discovered what looked like mildew/mold during a water remediation process after a plumbing leak. He calmed me down as we discussed the issue over the phone and he was able to stop by our property that same weekend. He was very knowledgeable and did not try to push any services on us. He provided guidance on how to get rid of the problem and he actually saved us money & repairs by letting us know we didn't need to cut into our drywall for additional testing. I will definitely be calling Ben for any mold issues in the future and would recommend him to others.

When mold was discovered in our house, I reached out to Ben who was very helpful and knowledgeable about determining the extent of the mold damage and how to mitigate it. Thankfully after Ben assessed the damage he said it wasn't bad at all and could be easily fixed with some at home mold removing solutions without any need to tear up any walls. Since it was so little he didn't even charge us anything but would definitely use him again if I ever needed a professional mold expert and would recommend him!

I am so impressed with Ben's knowledge. I hired him for testing services in a specific location, but have also been chasing down a smell that I couldn't find the source for. He knows so much about buildings, air flow, humidity, etc. I have had a lot of specialists and contractors in this space, but no one could back up their conclusions like Ben could with knowledge. I don't think I have spoken with anyone who knows as much about how houses function like him. I appreciate his willingness to help and his quick turnaround for test results!
