I have been using Narrows Heating for several years to service my two heat pumps. They have always done a great job for me. This summer it was finally time to replace a very old heat pump. Narrows did an excellent job of assessing what size heat pump to use and installing the new Trane heat pump properly. They arrived when they said they would and got the job done quickly. They cleaned up very well after their work was done. They also were very patient while explaining my new thermostat. I highly recommend Narrows Heating without any reservations, and love my new heat pump!

Narrows deserves 6 stars for installing our new heat pump and furnace. I got proposals from 3 companies and Narrows' proposal was the most detailed and the only one to include rebates from the manufacturer and Tacoma Public Utilities. The installation crew led by Danny was extremely professional, friendly, and efficient. The finished product is very impressive and Narrows gave us a detailed education about the new system and the smart thermostat. When inspectors visited to review the electrical and mechanical installations, they both commented that "Narrows is a quality outfit." We couldn't be more satisfied.

Chris and his team at Narrows did an excellent job installing our ductless heat pump. Scheduling the initial consultation was quick and easy. Chris was efficient with the evaluation and proposal. We had experiences with some other companies being very pushy salespeople. This was not the case with Narrows. The price was much more affordable than some other proposals we received for the exact same equipment. On the day of installation, the Dylans (both of the technicians were named Dylan) were very friendly and hardworking. They made sure the location of the pump and inside unit were exactly where we wanted them while still abiding by code. It was snowy and muddy that day and they were careful not to track mud into the house. They gave us great instructions on how to operate the unit. Great experience overall. I would definitely hire them again for future projects.

We had a great experience working with Chris and team at Narrows. As I was gathering bids for my project, some companies tried to sell me more equipment that my home didn't need. Narrows gave me honest and knowledgeable advice. I was extremely impressed with their assessment of my home and the innovative idea they came up with to incorporate my existing system into the plans. From start to finish, I was thankful to work with a professional team who took care of me and my family throughout the process. As for the finished product? I couldn't be happier. I only wish I had reached out to Narrows sooner.

Out of the three bids we received to install our new furnace and heat pump system, Narrows took the most interest in our work. Taking time to measure our house to size the system appropriately, letting us know about tax credits available from TPU and the federal government.

The work was performed professionally and competently. Narrows also took time to explain how the new system operated. Their bid was in the same range as the other two companies we spoke with. We chose Narrows over those two due to the extra level of customer care and professional service. We highly recommend Narrows.

Narrows Heating preformed a total HVAC installation in our older home. They were superb. The quality, efficiency and professionalism was outstanding. I recommend Narrows Heating completely and without reservations.

Chris with Narrows looked at our drafty, historic 1901 house and knew exactly what it needed. Narrows got the installation of a central heatpump system done in under two days with a top rated brand (Trane) at a cost that undercut competitor bids (we solicited four bids!) by thousands of dollars. Our energy costs have plummeted, and we look forward to a negligible gas bill this winter!

I found Narrows Heating & Air Conditioning to be professional, detail -oriented and thorough, from sales (Chris Calhoun) to installation (Dan and Dylan to electrician Bill). We chose them over many good companies because they (1) offered a 6-year interest-free loan from Wells Fargo in addition to a 7-year interest-free one from Tacoma Public Utilities, (2) a fully Energy Star-compliant system eligible for the $300 federal tax credit and (3) over 45 years experience being in the HVAC business, (4) Trane's excellent HSPF rating, (5) free Nexia account enabling remote access via internet and control of home thermostat and (6) installation of Trane's smart thermostat eligible for TPU's $50 rebate.

I was looking to upgrade my 1981 furnace with a more efficient heat pump. Chris came out to my house and provided me with an estimate (my 4th overall) for my 2000+ sq ft, split level house. Chris inquired into what I was looking for, looked over the area, took some measurements and provided me with a detailed estimate for a new heat pump and air handler. Chris outlined what I would need to meet my basic requirements, along with the pros & cons of other units available. Trane has a reputation of high quality and I was pleasantly surprised the quote was competitive with other top brands. After talking with Chris, reviewing his proposal, and looking over other’s reviews, I knew this was the right company for me to go with to update my system.

The installation was completed just as Chris stated. Ash, Jeff and Bill were very knowledgeable/professional. In these days of COVID 19, they were also careful to wear masks and still willing to answer my questions, as the installation took place. Since this was a two-day project, they made sure the new air handler was installed the first day, so I had heat for the evening. After the installation was complete, the area was cleaned, and I was provided a final breakdown of what was completed and recommended annual preventative maintenance (I'll trust Narrows to do this) to ensure the system continues to operate as advertised.

I have been very happy with my new Trane heat pump and would definitely recommend Narrows Heating & Air Conditioning to others.

I received bids from several companies. They were generic or an " upsell". Chris listened and with his expertise,, provided a solution based on my needs and particular house.

Reasonable price, good quality install, good Mitsubishi quality heat pumps. Their quote was competitive and I chose to go with them because their Mitsubishi heat pump was slightly higher efficiency than some of the competitors. I was really pleased with their service. They installed a two head heat pump in my house (just under 1,000 square feet) in just under two days and got all the permitting and inspections taken care of a few weeks later. There were no issues with the inspection and my wife has been really pleased with the quality compared to our old baseboard heaters. I have yet to use the cooling function since it's still winter, but I would gladly recommend Narrows Heating to anyone looking for a reputable heat pump install in the Tacoma, WA area.

Our A/C & thermostat went out 3 days in a row during the hottest part of the afternoon, then mysteriously came back on when the heat began to decrease. I called on a Monday morning & a Tech was out at about 2 o'clock that afternoon; right in the middle of the 3rd. incident. He found it was a improperly installed switch on the furnace unit. He said the original install wasn't done properly or completely(done by a different company). The speed of the appointment was great & the Tech did a good job, both in the work & explaining it to me. I'm glad that I switched my normal service over to Narrows H&AC, from the original installer last year! Thanks for the great Service!

Narrows Heating and Air provided a very thoughtful and accurate approach to determining my heating and cooling needs at my home. The owner, Chris Calhoun, was very patient and knowledgeable in answering my numerous questions relating to this purchase of a Trane XV19 heat pump and electric air handler. In fact, he is the only one who did a qualitative analysis of my home to assess the correct size of the equipment. I am so happy that I chose this system (and not another gas furnace) and this company. What I really noticed immediately is that my home comfort has dramatically increased. The heat has been consistent and very comfortable. Knowing that having a very quiet heat pump was important to me, the owner knew exactly what to recommend. I also purchased the Trane CleanEffects Whole Home Air Cleaner. Literally overnight the dust and pet dander have significantly decreased and my allergies are diminished. This was a worthwhile investment in my home that I am happy to have finally purchased after much consideration and research. Everyone from the hardworking crew to their friendly receptionist, Heather, made this a great experience all around.

Narrows Heating is phenomenal. We are an adult family home and met with Chris who was very kind and knowledgeable. He walked us through the process and gave us a great competitive quote for 6 Mitsubishi mini-splits.

His team were consummate professionals. They were kind and very thoughtful for our home and residents. They always put on shoe covers every time and were very clean and minimized the amount of dust and dirt produced while working on the home which really helped our elderly residents.The Narrows team kept me updated throughout the process. When they were finished, they instructed us on how to use and maintain the new mini-splits.

It has been a few weeks and the mini-splits have been working perfectly! Our home is so much warmer especially because it has been such a cold winter. Our residents love them and I know it has already increased the quality of their lives with warmer and what feels like cleaner air.

Overall, I would highly recommend Christ and the Narrows Heating & Air Conditioning team. They are amazing!

At first, I wanted to replace our existing HVAC system with the same brand. But then someone at McLendon's recommended Narrows Heating & Air Conditioning. So I called them up and they put us on their schedule. They were easy to work with, told me exactly what they're going to do, and answered all my questions. The new system was installed last week and it's awesome. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I include a couple.
