North Alabama Construction has been absolutely amazing to work with. Sam is a true custom home builder who handles every aspect of the process, and his attention to detail really shows in the final product. From start to finish, everything was handled professionally and with care.

One thing that really stood out is that Sam is always willing to give honest advice on what he would do himself. That means a lot especially when it’s something that actually saves his customers money. It shows he truly cares about doing what’s right, not just what benefits him.

Even after the house was completed, Sam has continued to be available anytime we need something, which speaks volumes about his dedication to his customers. He and his team made the entire home building process feel easy and stress-free. We truly appreciate everything they’ve done and would highly recommend North Alabama Construction to anyone looking to build a custom home.

Sam built a three car detached garage for me. Him and his crew did a great job on the build, kept the place clean and were all incredibly professional through the process. Workmanship was top notch and communication was always timely and responsive. We worked through several change orders along the way and all work was done fairly and competently. I’d hire NACS again without hesitation.

I love my new home built by North Alabama Construction…. I moved in almost a year ago. I decided to give it the year before a review :)

The house is beautiful, Sure there have been some very minor issues (you can’t expect perfection ever with anything in life) - but Sam is so incredibly nice and all of the small issues I’ve had get resolved in a timely manner which is awesome. He is very trustworthy.

I plan to use them again in a few years to help me add my dream patio. :)

Sam and his crew are great! They take “you dream it, we build it” to a different level. They can bring any of your ideas to life! Very professional. Always punctual. I would recommend them to anyone!

Sam and his team were the easiest to work with when building our barndominium. Sam was always responsive and quick to answer any questions we had. We cannot recommend him enough and he will always be our go-to for any future construction needs!

We have to agree with Beverly. If it could go wrong, it did! You build a custom new house and their famous line is “it isn’t going to be perfect”! Why not? It should be pretty close! Where to begin…. Cabinets falling off the hinge, incorrect grout in the shower causing significant water damage, mix matched shingles on the roof (2 DIFFERENT COLORS) broken kitchen faucet, incorrect measurements on the lvp flooring that you can see concrete underneath, poor installation of the grinder tank, tore our dryer vent up trying to cap it off, different type and color screws in the door frame of INTERIOR doors, siding has faded everywhere after one year and we tried everything to clean it but it’s defective. These are a few examples of our problematic experience. Then when you bring it up to the boss man, he acts as if it’s your fault and makes excuses for the poor craftsmanship and cheap quality of labor and materials! The only thing you can depend on them to do is get your money and run. This was definitely a learning lesson. They don’t make things like they used to and this company is a prime example of that. From our personal experience, we don’t recommend this company. *Edit* to prove what I stated previously about blaming us and not accepting accountability. Do you know how much water would have to hold on a floor to cause that much water damage on a baseboard? Plus, we dry off IN THE SHOWER. They act as if we live like animals but it still wouldn’t cause that. No, we had someone come out and state that the wrong grout was used and it cracked around the whole bottom of the tile shower. The cut sheetrock was from ANOTHER incident where every time we turned our water on and off the pipes would knock. I know it’s so many you forget. Furthermore, our other bathroom which gets used more and has a BATHROOM RUG, has no water damage (knock on wood) it also does not have a tile shower that cracked through no fault of our own. Yes, they will respond eventually but do not always call you back. You have to stay on top of it.(reason for showing up in person) We put the house up for sale back in March but it was brought to our attention it would be wise and wait until after the two year mark. Right now we are just holding our breath and building up some equity but plan to list again next year. As far as an inspection before we moved in, I highly doubt it was. How do you miss the gray and brown roof? If there is a corner to be cut, they’ll cut it. We waited to leave a review because we knew we were selling. It’s interesting though how you respond to our review and not Beverly’s. Spec or custom, we picked out everything from paint, flooring (that isn’t level), siding (started fading after ONE YEAR), black countertops (got white which we agreed to keep), brown roof (did not agree to the gray), cabinets, etc. etc. Everything they fixed for FREE was at the hands of them not originally doing it right the first time!!!

We wanted to add an addition to our existing older farm cottage with no architectural plans. Out of three contractors, one said it wasn't possible and one clearly didn't share our vision. Sam Motes with North Alabama Construction Specialists not only saw that vision but he and his crews brought to life a beautiful new living space with every detail we asked for - plus a few we hadn't even thought of. Sam is professional, personable, and experienced. But more importantly, when you realize the same crew members have worked with Sam for years, it shows integrity. You can't put a price on that!

I moved to Al from Ks and so my build was a little complicated. Sam , his wife and team were very receptive to quite a few custom items in this house build. From the initial request for proof of insurance to the end punch list, I have had excellent help with my build. You can count on Sam remembering things from remote convos you had with him. It is a delight to catch him in the rare moment when he forgot something- reminding him was great bc it rarely happens. I would recommend NACS . They are willing to extend their expertise to their limits if you need you make sure you have what you want. They also demonstrated a willingness to repair inadvertent problems with no hesitation. I am so pleased with what they have built/created.
