Tree reviews in Anchorage, Alaska

We have used Carlos for as long as we live at the current location (15 years) quite often. When I called today to make an appointment for approx. middle of September, when the leaves are still on the trees, I was told that they don't accept any new work. I could do it late in the fall, as they are all booked up with Chugach Electric Assn. Well, they don't need the little guys work and certainly won't get ours in the future.

Called Carlos tree company about a partially downed cottonwood tree hung up in the tree next to it. They came out two days later gave me a fair bid, cut the tree down the next week at ground level and never left a trace of the tree!

This was the worst experience in my life the whole crew was extremely rude they left mess everywhere to clean up . They refused to come out and clean up. would highly recommend using another service this service is irresponsible and the crew is untrained and they have no idea what they're doing and no respect other home owners

These guys are so lazy and rude. The electric company sent them to clear out around the power lines and they raked all the mess off the street into my yard. The 2 guys that were at my house were very rude to me when i asked them what was going on and if they were going to pick up the branches. I had to call their office and they told me it could be a few days, they just came by and left about a third of the pile. The forman they had on the job got offended that i questioned him about his job and would constantly stop working to talk on his phone or the other worker, he went on and on about a guy named derek. They also jumped the fence into my yard after they thought no one was because i was sleeping when they first showed up. They got really lucky my dogs weren't outside

I tried to call to schedule an appointment to have 2 very large trees removed that are close to both my roof and especially the neighbors roof. The lady on the phone was not very helpful at all. She informed me very bluntly that they don't schedule appointments for quotes (Like everybody else in town does) instead just flag the trees and they will come by to look at them. I think this is a critical mistake in the way they handle business. It is an opportunity for me to ask questions and to put a face to the people I would possibly be trusting with a difficult tree removal and paying a few thousand dollars. I informed her I would be calling Gage tree service instead and she bluntly said "okay" and hung up.

VERY unprofessional.

P.S. I was able to schedule appointments with 3 other tree removal companies just fine. If Carlos tree service pays any attention to their customers on yelp.. you could learn something from your competitors.

I should have read the other reviews. They are rude and unprofessional. After I first called to schedule an estimate, no one showed and no one called to cancel. When I called to re-schedule, Gwen was snarkey and told me the estimator kept his own schedule and would show up whenever he wanted to. I advised her I wanted to be there when a stranger would be walking around my property and house, and would they please call me when they knew they were coming (ever heard of a cell phone?). She advised me they would NOT call to say when they would arrive, and would do the estimate without me there, sometime in the next several days, at their convenience. That's they way they worked, she said. Customer courtesy and service is obviously not part of their business plan. I told them never mind.

I would hire these guys again any time. They came out, cut down the tree from a bucket truck into pieces while managing traffic on a busy side street, ground the stump completely, cleaned up and left loads of right length firewood rounds! all in less than 2 hours. super great price, communication and this is all after i told them the wrong 2 trees initially.

This is the second time we used CTS. Last year they took down all the Spruce in our yard. This year they took down 11 giant birch trees and grinded stumps from the this year and last years felled trees. These guys did such a fantastic job. Very professional and well organized. Our yard looks amazing. The holes from the ground down stumps were back filled with the mulch from the trees. I had plenty extra to fill in low spots as well. They were very careful not to damage other structures on the property. I would absolutely use Carlos' Tree Service. In fact, I don't think I would use anyone else.

Scott Steve and trayson did a great job of removing my 40' Birch tree. They were professional and they were safety conscience. They cleaned up after themselves and they left me a pale of wood. They are a top notch crew.

3 times they had to come back for one job. They need a new Forman not named Jay. Or a simple re train on laws and looking strait up to cut trees above house. Pretty poor job but it got done after the 3rd time

I have had work done over the years with Carlos and they’re always my go to. They’ve always done an excellent job Kept everything very safe and cleaned up after they were gone you didn’t even know they were here Not only that they educated me on the different trees and the safety of different trees I have in my yard

We had a few large cottonwood trees that were potential hazards so needed to be removed or trimmed. We were very happy with the estimate so scheduled the work. The crew showed up on time. They had the right equipment to do the work very quickly. There were tons of wasps in one tree and one man quickly just put a suit on and kept working. They worked safely and completely cleaned up the yard and street before they left. We almost tried this project ourselves but I’m so glad we didn’t! They did a great job for a very fair price.

Jason & Michael came out to take down a tree in our back yard last week (7/10/25) and they were GREAT. Got the job done in an hour as I watched - amazed at how it all happens. We HIGHLY recommend Carlo's Tree Service. Great job, very nice people and all around just great service! :)

Shawn safely took down trees, chipped all the limbs, and thoroughly ground the stumps.. raked and cleaned up every last twig- my yard looked spotless when he was done.
