Before contacting an Excavating Contractor or related services like Demolition, Landscaping, Concrete Work, Utilities, Tree Services, and Septic Systems, consider the scope of your project. Excavating Contractors handle site preparation for construction projects; they dig foundations, trenches, and more. When choosing a provider, inquire about their equipment capabilities—some can manage large-scale industrial jobs while others specialize in residential sites.
Note that quotes may vary significantly based on factors such as the size of your lot, depth required, and whether you need additional services like soil testing or environmental permits. Compare carefully by asking for detailed breakdowns of costs, ensuring all necessary steps are included. Remember to verify their licensing and insurance coverage before making a selection.
Excavating Contractors are often called in for large-scale construction projects where soil must be moved or removed. Beyond just digging trenches and foundations, they play a crucial role in preparing land for development, removing old structures, and installing utilities. Whether it’s a home renovation project, a new building site, or even landscaping, their expertise is essential.
Excavating Contractors dig trenches, clear debris, and level the ground to ensure that sites are ready for construction or development. They remove old foundations, trees, and other obstacles, making it safe and feasible for new structures to be built. Their services include excavation and grading which involve substantial earthmoving, often requiring specialized equipment like excavators and bulldozers.
Demolition Contractors dismantle existing buildings and infrastructure using heavy machinery and manual labor. This work requires careful planning due to the potential hazards of asbestos or lead paint in older structures. Landscapers create beautiful outdoor spaces by shaping gardens, planting trees, and installing irrigation systems, all while ensuring the safety of the site.
Before hiring an Excavating Contractor, assess your needs carefully. Consider the size of the project and whether you require additional services like landscaping or demolition. Request detailed quotes that include the scope of work, equipment needed, and any permits required. A good listing will provide contact information for multiple providers in each state, allowing you to compare their rates and experience.
When contacting providers, ask about their experience with similar projects, their equipment availability, and whether they have insurance coverage. Look for a provider that has references or previous work samples if possible, as these can give you insight into the quality of their past work. Make sure to check their reputation online and read reviews from other homeowners who have used their services.

Read moreSeth and his guys do a very good job! I would highly recommend! I’ll be using them again in the future
I hired this company to finish our parking lot & concrete pad under Gas Canopy. Once the concrete dries up we will come back finish the rest of parking lot. I pay them full invoice. But know he saying that we have to pay more to finish the parking lot. Kind of cheating & try to get more bucks out of me. Not a professional job. Learn the lesson always keep some money under until finish the complete project…….😡
As a home builder, excavation and foundations are the most important part of the home. Having Seth and his team work for us is a honor and they always do a great job. They work very hard and are very fair priced. I wouldn’t have anyone else do excavation for me.
We hired Seth to come out and build a gravel pad for our RV. He came out promptly and did a very good job. He left telling me if there were any problems that needed to be fixed he would come take care of it, no problem. After about 3 weeks we decided we would like to widen the pad to accommodate a larger metal carport than originally anticipated. We called Seth and he told us "no problem" and that he would be out within the week to do the job. Two weeks later we called to ask about it, and he said he was sorry and that he would be there the next day to do the job. A week later, we called and asked about it and was told he got busy and that he would be there on Friday to do the job. Another week passes and nothing! Called and left a message, no return call. Called 2 more times and no return call. Sent a text message, no response. He completely ghosted me. So after 2 months I decided to call someone else to do the job. They came out promptly and were very nice and really tried their best to get what we wanted done, but I don't believe they had the experience to do the job properly. The pad is now uneven and holds water, and i am afraid the first hard rain is going to wash it away. If only Seth would have followed through with what he said he would do. Seth is good at moving dirt but, professionalism goes much further than just that. Either you tell the customer "I'm sorry I don't have time and can't do the job", or you say "I'll do the job" and you do it. After the initial job, I referred a fried to Gross construction for the same type of job. He called and set up an appointment with Seth, and guess what..........he was also ghosted. Not acceptable.
Gross construction is a great company to work with. From clearing the property to finish grading. Gross construction has a great team of men to take care of your needs.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t recommend Gross Construction enough! The owner is not only a true professional but also one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet. He goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done right, and he’s always willing to help in any way he can. The quality of his work speaks for itself—reliable, detail-oriented, and built to last. If you’re looking for someone you can trust who will treat your project like it’s his own, Gross Construction is the way to go.
