There are not enough words to convey the awful experience we received from this business, particularly the owner Brian. My mother hired Guardian as a gift to me and my fiance on our first home, just a week before our first baby was due. The work was scheduled to be done on a Thursday & Friday (baby due the following week). She notified me the morning of, super excited for this to be done. Brian's crew came on Thursday and put the holes in the home for insulation to be blown on Friday. First off, they found walls with insulation and did not say anything at first until questioned to remove this from the price. Second, they left a huge debris mess in our yard. They did not come back on Friday due to an "unforeseeable issue" the team had. Well... Saturday they came back and did not finish (Saturday was also a day we had other contractors coming, which is why we scheduled the work to be done Friday). Sunday they finally finished which ended up being the same day we went into labor. SO much more went on that would take up pages to explain. Needless to say, the worst part of this experience was the HORRIBLE ethics and professionalism from the owner Brian. He was extremely rude and expressed that the customer should be open to flexibility even when they schedule works to be done. He questioned his customers and was counterintuitive every step of the way and only cared about getting paid for a job BEFORE it was done and when it WASNT done when agreed to.

As a non-expert in the insulation business (since I don't understand R values) I asked the owner to list on the quote the depth of the insulation when the job was done. He did so, but when the job was done it was well below (up to 2-3 inches) that in most areas. It took an hour of arguing with the owner on the phone (mostly with him blaming me for the discrepancy) to get him to live up to the contract which is why he's getting 3 stars and not 5. The workers were great and did a clean job, but the owner struggles with customer service. I wouldn't do business with him again or recommend him to friends.

I had the blown in insulation done on my home and I can't believe how effective and how much I am saving on my electric bill. They had the best price and they matched the paint on the outside walls so well you can't see anything was done!

Guardian added blow-in wall insulation on the older part of our home (built in 1936 with no insulation and tricky framing) and now the interior walls are no longer warm to the touch! The stucco ended up being almost like concrete but they persevered without raising their quote - even though the drill bits wore out quickly.
Their technician worked magic on matching the stucco surface when filling all the holes and I honestly can't tell where they drilled. Being very particular about construction quality, that's the best compliment I can give!

Guardian Home Energy did a great job on my insulation. I had originally hired them to do the walls and the attic but when they started the wall job, they found modern insulation was already there. Russell’s team patched the holes beautifully and they didn’t charge me for the wall job. The attic team was skilled and fast. Would recommend.

I can't say enough good things about Russell Yarmus and Guardian Home Energy! I felt like my heating bills in the winter were WAY too high last year, and yet the house was quickly cold after the heater shut off. Likewise, my electric bills in the summer were WAY too high, secondary to our use of air conditioning.

I hired Russell to do a home energy audit. He was VERY thorough and knowledgeable, and most importantly was very honest. He did not once try to upsell me. In fact, he convinced me that extensive insulation under the flooring (in the crawl space) was NOT a cost efficient way to address our concerns.

When it it turned out that his two insulators could not access our attic space through the hole made in the ceiling, he came out to do the insulating himself (with Mark) when we replaced the roof, so that he could make changes and pivot as circumstances deemed appropriate. The end result was excellent, and I enjoyed being involved in the work that was being done. Mark does an outstanding job patching and paint matching so that you cannot even tell where work has been done on the interior.

The house was immediately noticeably cooler in the summer and less expensive to heat in the winter. The price for the work was very competitive, and did NOT increase one cent when the mode of access to the attic space changed. I am VERY pleased with this investment of time and energy, and have recommended Russell Yarmus and Guardian Home Energy to neighbors and friends. If you are considering a home energy audit or ceiling/wall insulation, definitely give Russell a call. He was initially recommended by our HERS inspector when I advised him that another insulation professional intended to insulate our crawl space. He did not think that was a good idea, and suggested getting Russell's thoughts on the matter. I'm so glad that I listened!
