Konstantine is simply THE BEST! Honest, straightforward, transparent, professional, extremely knowledgeable, accommodating, flexible, patient, dependable and a good human being with high integrity. I interviewed 5 General Contractors and Konstantine by far stood out for all the reasons I just mentioned. Most importantly, HE CARES!

Having an old building that always needs upkeep is a bit of a struggle. I've had people in the past "fix" things as I go but I wasn't always happy with the end result long term.

I was able to talk to Kosta and he took the time to listen to my past experiences and concerns that I was looking to address. After that initial phone call, I left feeling better about who I would want to move forward with. A short period of time later he gave me a thorough plan for what was needed to tackle my project and what to expect as we go along.

It's funny to say but communication is very important when it comes to your home. Being shown why certain options / ways of doing things are better than others and why you should use specific materials of higher quality left me feeling at ease. I felt like the end result is what we had went over with him in the previous conversations and I now have something that I don't have to worry about again.

I want to say that I've also learned my lesson about sometimes looking for the lowest quote or quickest / shortest way out. Do it once and do it right with this crew!

We highly recommend Ionian Builders for their quality, workmanship and professionalism. Every project they did for us was a success, from the garden shed they built from scratch to the house painting they did to repair a trouble spot in the stucco on our chimney. When they finished, the repair matched the existing paint to a tee. No project was too small or too large for them. They took on everything we asked of them, from repairing our skylight to replacing a broken tile in our shower stall. We have already scheduled them to return for some much needed work on our deck and look forward to having them back.

We hired Ionian Builders to help do some work in our house. Kosta and his crew were incredibly professional and delivered amazing results. We couldn’t be any happier! Will definitely use them again and recommend them to all our friends.

We first worked with Ionian Builders in 2021 when they helped update, modernize & bring a rental property back to great condition after a long term tenant moved out. They worked on every inch of the property including paint, fixtures and general maintenance of all existing rooms. They came back a few months later to completely update the exterior patio including a new railing & concrete work. We've been extremely pleased with their service. They continue to work on other ad hoc projects as needed on the property since 2021.

We've also used them for our home in San Francisco. Initially, they worked on our bathroom and completely redid the grout work on shower/tub and they have been back a few more times for other miscellaneous work.

Konstantine is a great communicator, sets timelines and always follows up. We've had great experiences with his work.

We need some new electrical work done in our SF home and plan to go through Ionian Builders for this work as well.

Ionian Builders have done a few projects at my house over the years and they’ve always done a great job. From the initial designs through the end of the project, their service is excellent. The first project Konstantine helped us with was big: a complete bathroom and kitchen remodel. From start to finish, he gave solid practical advice and design advice, which helped us pick options that fit our “look,” needs, and budget. He was always transparent on timelines before and during construction. If you’ve ever done a construction project, you know that’s super important. These were both big projects and included things like tiling, cabinet installation, rewiring the electrical, new plumbing, window installation, and more. They did a fantastic job and paid a lot of attention to details both big and small.

The second project Ionian Builders helped us with was our floors. They sanded and re-stained the floors in our dining room and hallway, and they added vinyl flooring in our laundry room. In both cases they did great work. Our wood floors look brand new, and the new following in our laundry room really elevated the space.

If you’re looking for a general contractor to work in your home, I highly recommend Ionian Builders.

Kosta and his crew did an excellent job of constructing a small lounge building and surrounding deck in our backyard. In addition to the great work, they were considerate and kept us informed of progress, any issues, and questioned us on details to make sure the finished unit was exactly as we wanted it. Kosta has a great eye for design and made suggestions which we incorporated into the project. We have also used his company to build a retaining wall in our backyard and fix a serious dry rot issue on our home. We highly recommend his company for any project you may have.

I needed a dilapidated wooden walkway rebuilt, and GAXL did the work beautifully and promptly for a reasonable price. I would happily recommend them and use them again. for a reasonable price. I would happily recommend them and use them again.

GAXL just finished our 20x30 ft backyard deck using Timber Tek, and it looks great! What impressed me the most was the commitment to the job Marvin gave. He was the main worker on our deck, often working on his own. He came promptly at 8am and often didn't leave til 6pm, with only an hour break for lunch and few breaks in between. Even came on Saturdays. All this in 90 degree weather with full sun exposure in our backyard. Also communications with Juan (who runs the jobs) have been excellent. He is personable and responsive. I can't speak yet for how the deck will hold up, but Marvin's hard work and precision made it worth every penny. We definitely recommend GAXL for future jobs! We are now going to ask for quotes for repaving part of our driveway and redoing our 3 bathrooms.

I was very pleased with the man they sent out. Very courteous, pleasant, clean and efficient His work was fine.

I contacted GAXL Construction and Plumbing for a flooring problem in our bathroom. We had plumbing issues (toilet leakage) and I thought there was some wood rot because the floor seemed spongy. After contacting GAXL Construction they promptly gave me a quote. They worked within my time schedule which was the day after Thanksgiving. They pulled up the old linoleum and found a much larger issue than I expected. They removed the rotten-wood and replaced it in one day and installed new flooring that I had purchased. I found GAXL Construction and Plumbing to be very reliable. I would hire them again in a minute! I also thought that their pricing was reasonable and fair.

We recently worked with GAXL on new kitchen and entry flooring, drywall repair, and installing a chandelier.

Andy, Jose, and their entire team were professional, responsive, respectful, and detailed. They worked with us on timing to overlap construction with some planned travel. They found every which way to make our project a success and ensure we would not have to worry about anything while we were away. We returned to an amazing outcome, as the work they did was excellent. We look forward to working with GAXL on more projects.

A bathroom remodel and conversion of part of a garage into a Junior ADU. Overall the Gaxl contractor and crew were professional, reliable, quick, and open to suggestions.

The crew were very polite and easy to get along with. Special praise to Jaime, the construction foreman. He has a sunny disposition, was extremely easy to work with, and was very professional. The entire project took about 2.5 months to complete which was faster than expected and quicker than promised. The crew started work on time each day and worked throughout the day.

The Gaxl bid was not the lowest and not the highest. We went with them due to Yelp reviews as well as a recommendation from friends. The recommendations did not disappoint..

BATHROOM RENOVATION: This was a fairly standard renovation of a non-master full bath. The tile floor was replaced, a new vanity and toilet installed, and the bath/shower combination replaced by a tiled walk-in shower (with the shower floor also tiled). The entire bathroom was also re-painted. The result looked great.

JUNIOR ADU: This was the larger part consisting of converting part of our garage into a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette. Gaxl had to install framing, break concrete to extend sewer lines, replace an existing traditional tanked water heater with an external tankless, install a mini-split, install flooring and tiling, add new circuit breakers, install a new window, and do all the rest of the electrical, and install all finish materials including painting and flooring. The result was FABULOUS.

Suggestions for improvement: The tiling was very good on the floor and walls, but the mosaic tiling was slightly out-of-alignment in a few places. However, none of this is visible with a cursory glance. Jose (the general contractor) was easy to work with but was hesitant to offer suggestions and specific recommendations. I think this was to exclude the possibility that we would later say something like “You said this was good, but we hate it”, but as inexperienced as we were we would have liked more direction.

Summary: very good work and I would DEFINITELY go with them for future projects.
