Zeth was very responsive, transparent, and flexible. Together, we were able to fit and implement something we love into our budget. They were extremely efficient completing the project as well.

We had an entirely positive experience with Living Systems Landscaping. Owner Zeth installed our small native plant garden—a turf conversion project for which we received a rebate from the city. The process went smoothly from beginning to end. I emailed him our design (created by Shevaun Zakhir of Mother Natives Nursery, also highly recommended). Zeth ordered the plants, which arrived healthy and green; helped me pick out flagstones for a path; sheet-mulched the lawn; and converted our sprinkler system to drip. He also installed our new smart irrigation controller, downloaded the app to my phone and programmed it for me. The garden installation was completed in a single day, just as promised. Zeth is a true professional and a delight to work with. I highly recommend Living Systems for anyone who wants to trade in their sterile, overwatered lawn for a beautiful, drought-resistant garden that feed birds and pollinating insects.

Zeth was so informative and helpful. I have enough projects to keep me busy for years. He’s affordable and knowledgeable and has so many excellent resources.

I would give this contractor zero stars if I could. Zeth either smoked himself retarded or has a sixth-grade reading level. His writing skills should have been my first indication to look elsewhere. The concept of work hours seems to have escaped him. For example, he called and texted me multiple times in a row after 5 PM, as if I don't have a life outside of work. He also added additional expenses to the bill without a change order, and he used broad terms in the quote that he didn't fully explain, such as "prep the site," which did not include leveling the surface?!? This contractor seems like an amateur, and I would not recommend him to anyone.

And I want to be specific here: After the job was completed, additional costs were added to the original invoice without my approval! When I asked about why the scope of the work changed after I had already signed the contract, he gave me some lame excuse that I plan to take to mediation. This caused me a lot of stress and inconvenience, and it ultimately led to me regretting the decision to use him.

I would advise anyone who is considering hiring this contractor to be very careful. He is not reliable or trustworthy, and he is likely to cause you a lot of headaches.

Zeth and his crew just finished a major landscaping project - replaced the walkways, a very long driveway, a stucco retaining wall, added a patio, and landscaped the front yard. Now when it rains I don't have to wade through water to get to the garage! I really like the plant selection in the front yard - can't wait for them to get bigger!

I was looking for someone to partner with me in transforming both my front and back yards from shabby and ill-executed to “something more.” At the highest level, I wanted to remove some horrible lawns and solve a drainage problem in my sloped front yard. Zeth took the time to understand what I was looking for and then suggested several ways to resolve some issues while making sure that the work we did added to the beauty of the surrounding neighborhood.

Living Systems says it right on their website: “I don’t do cheap.” Well, I didn’t want cheap. Fair pricing for excellent work is what it takes to engage excellent workers, and that’s what I got. Everyone that worked on my projects actually *cared* about what they were doing and how things would work and look when the jobs were complete. That was so wonderful to experience.

Super-professional the whole way, too. They showed up on time. Things were cleaned up at the end of every day. They were respectful to my neighbors, and to me, and asked for my opinion and offered options all along the way.

I’m looking forward to working on the next phases of my projects, and I have zero doubt that Zeth and his team will be the keys to a beautiful transformation of my landscape from gross and weedy to eclectic and eloquent; put differently, not just another fake stream-bed with agapanthus and privets.

And Zeth? Solid integrity all along the way. Remember “trustworthy?” Yeah, like that. Good stuff.

Thoroughly presented available options with associated costs and it was apparent he wanted to ensure I was making an informed decision and was not predatory in any way. Zeth was super knowledgeable and gave me all the information I needed to plant a sustainable yard that will be beautiful for years to come. As well as tips and tricks for getting the best results and avoiding common mistakes, couldn’t ask for a better consultation.

Contacted Zeth for their help getting a drought tolerant yard set up. He came out the next day to do a survey and give me a quote based on what he thought it would cost. Once the order was placed he was out the next week with his crew and finished all the work in a day! I'll be attaching pictures in a few months once everything has filled in.

Zeth and his team did a fantastic job removing our front yard landscaping and replacing it with plants native to our area. Our project included demolition, rebuilding a brick walkway, repairs on a stone planter wall, new drip irrigation, purchase and installation of plants, bark mulch, and a new smart control system for all our outdoor irrigation.
