I didn't hire Palm Construction CA. I merely had an interview with their sales expert person, not the door knocker. I gotta say they are outrageously priced! I have an ordinary simple tract house in Clairemont and a very small grass patch in my front yard. Estimate quote was $6,000. I already have very good working sprinklers and merely wanted to re-sod the front yard patch. $6,000!!!! I got another quote for replacing the pipes under my slab to the tune of $45,000!!! He didn't even measure!! I have all new pipes in my kitchen and main bathroom, so where does this high price come about??!!

I saw someone on Yelp who posted a photo of Palm Construction flyer which was identical to mine except it has a totally different phone number!! The door knocker's name is on the flyer, Chauncey Evans.

It appears via the California Contractor's Licensing Board that they have been associated with other contractors and complaints were filed for starting work without obtaining the permit. Not the kind of business I would want to do work for me!!

Soooo, if they knock on your door? Just close your door. I was shown no previous work or given any referrals, either. I'm a senior and this company is not one I would trust!!

Do not hire them! They over charge, subcontractors do shoddy workmanship. We had to have our roof replaced 1 year after they replaced it because it was leaking. Also the subcontractors that installed our NEW gutters put them in wrong. We had to have them corrected as well

Update 11/01/21 - the company contacted us and after a couple of months, they have completely fixed the deck and it is BEAUTIFUL. It was so professionally done and they involved my mom in every step of the process. Thank you so much for doing the right thing and fixing it. We appreciate it!

We hired this company to redo my mom’s deck, which was ruined by a prior deck contracting company. They assured us they would fix all of the problems the prior company caused (so severe it was taken to court and they had their license taken away), and seemed professional and like they knew what they were doing. We were sorely mistaken. They absolutely ruined my mother’s deck all over again, and are now refusing to return my mom’s calls or fix the gross mistakes they made. The county inspector wouldn’t even approve it and said it was done completely wrong and needed to be fixed. We don’t even know if it’s safe to walk on because they are ignoring our calls. They re-installed the balcony bars incorrectly and unsafely, and made a mess that will be impossible to fix. The deck is unfinished and looks to be just covered in asphalt, which they even got on the paint on the deck and we can’t get it off. We are disgusted by their work and lack of responsiveness, and will be pursuing legal action as a result. My mother is supposed to be selling her house this month, but because of their mistakes we will be losing tons of money on the sale. If you don’t want to be out $15k+, do not use this company.

My opinion is good; I hired them for a kitchen and bathroom remodel. We had an initial idea, but the team suggested new options that gave the house much more functional and modern volumes. We knew their work through friends. Whenever you let someone into your home, you want them to be trustworthy, and besides their approachability and easygoing manner, they were receptive to our many questions and even changes that arose during the work. Of course, highly recommended.

We picked Palm Construction because of the great reviews. Palm Construction is awesome. Started the job pretty much immediately. Worked clean. Nice neat piles of construction debris. Issac made the pricing and options easy. We are not particularly picky and he was even able to combine our material order with another job and saved us even more on the cost. Offered multiple ways to pay for our convenience.
