We have used Warmboard in several projects, ranging from new builds to renovations, and in every case, it has performed exceptionally well. Operating in central Saskatchewan, we experience temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F) for extended periods. When outdoor temperatures dropped to -40°F, we ran the fluid temperature at approximately 43°C (110°F), and the space remained comfortably warm at 23°C (74°F). My wife likes it warm, so we kept the temperature on the higher side, and Warmboard never missed a beat. Over the years, we’ve installed various radiant heating systems, including Warmboard, staple-up, overpour, and slab. In my experience, Warmboard is the superior choice compared to staple-up, overpour, and competitor products with built-in channels. I’m glad I have heated floors. I installed heated floors in my previous home 27 years ago., so I wanted that same level of comfort when building a new home. There are different types of systems from which to choose. For this project I was caught off guard a number of times because neither my contractor nor I had experience using this particular product. Before starting, the construction manager needs to understand the interplay of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical subcontractors; and he needs to know that they are needed more.than once. Because there was less guidance than I’d been promised, we experienced long construction delays and added expenses. When I drove three hours to meet with an advisor on site, I received a message that he wasn’t coming. This system is well designed but without prior hands on experience, I would advise others to opt for a simpler and less costly radiant system.
