Pell did a great job. Easy to work with and quality work.

Pell just completed my solar installation. Aaron Imamura and his team were top notch at every point along the way!

Do not get this system if you live in The high desert. No follow up with system. No call backs. Stick with option one solar instead

Had the unfortunate interaction with the owner. He’s absolutely rude. I read through these reviews and found that I am not the only “customer” Josh attacks verbally and treats completely unprofessionally. If you’re looking for good customer service or just human decent respect, you will never get it from him. Expect to be treated badly.

If you're planing to get solar from this shop. I would recommend to stay away. I called in the morning 40 minutes after the shop open, talked to a staff and only to be told someone will call me back. Then four hr later called the shop again and different staff said the same, someone will call me back. Now the shop is close. BUT STILL NO ONE CALLED ME BACK!!!. So if the customer service is this horrible, I wonder what horrible customer service await for me in the future, if I purchase solar from them. Yall been Warn ⚠️

My journey on getting solar for my home started a little over a year ago. I started working with another solar company but always felt pushed and almost like if they first wanted to get all my information on how much I pay not so that they can save me as much as possible, but more to see how much they could squeeze out of me but still pay a little under what I was paying for electricity.

LA County Fair 2015 I saw the Pell Solar booth, I walked up to their staff and they sat me down with Aaron. I knew I needed a big system and speaking to him for only a couple minutes I realized how educated he was with not only knowledge of the panels but the whole Solar Industry. He gave me his card and we arraigned to talk later.

When we spoke he helped me understand the differences and benefits from Buying, PPAs, and a Lease. Instead of making the decision for me and trying to make me sign a paper as soon as possible. He educated me, put all the scenarios in front of me and then educated me more on the difference it can make to do your homework before going solar. I of coarse really appreciated that, I wanted to make sure I made the right decision for my family and was hungry for a lot of answers. Aaron filled that need and even game me more information that helped me.

This is where I know that Pell Solar was the right company for me, because now that I decided to move forward with them there were 1,000 other problems that were going to happen and if it was not for them going the extra mile I know for a fact I would not have Solar Panels on my roof right now.

Long story short, turns out the car port that was on the rear part of my property was not permitted. My property actually had 2 parcel numbers and was really 2 properties and since the separate car port was on a different property the City Would never permit connecting utilities across property lines. That and a lot of technicalities by the City made this a very difficult Install, in fact at this point I thought Aaron and Pell Solar were gonna bail on me, they should have. I almost gave up.

I knew the only way I was going to get Solar now was to install on the roof of my home. I have 32 palm trees and like another 5 large trees around the west and south west part of my house. Aaron and his team did more than a couple of Sun studies on my very complicated roof and after doing the math they were able to determine that If I were to trim 2 trees and lose 1 palm tree and kept about another 10 palm trees nice and trimmed I could knock out 100% of my bill. I know it wasn't easy and that they did not have to go trough all that trouble, but thanks to them I now save from $300-$400 on my electric bill.

I know sometimes we can be skeptical, and maybe it sounds too good to be true. But do the homework, and inform yourself. In the end it really is all worth it. I got quotes from 4 companies and don't be afraid about a lease, do the math and consider the pros and cons about both buying and leasing. In my case a lease meant a considerably lower monthly payment.

Going Solar is the smart thing to do you really cant lose. Your already losing by doing nothing, Paying increasingly more to the Utility company thats losing already. So you cant lose going solar. Now its a matter of choosing the right solar company and saving an extra 20% or choosing the wrong solar company and not saving that extra 20%.

After the install I have kept good communication with Aaron and he is making sure we are happy with our system. He came over and explained 100 other things that help us make sure we are managing our electricity usage. Again the man knows a lot about how this whole Industry works. We are really grateful for everything Pell Solar has done to help us, we owe them everything.

I will try to include a picture with what my usage looks like now. It says $5 for my next bill but im sure even that will be wiped out. Also Pell Solar does Heating and Air for your AC / Furnace that will probably the next thing I will be calling them for.

Josh and his outfit did a great job. My 10.2kw system was installed on 11-7-2018. From quote to installation these guys were on top of everything including the permitting nightmare. Josh is a great communicator and kept me up to date in the process, would absolutely recommend Pell Soar.

Friendly team, easy installation and easy payment plans- best solar service. Always referring Josh to friends and family since they don’t disappoint.

I went with Shaun Rogers from Pell to install a 10kW system a couple of weeks ago.

I shopped around to about 5 different vendors, including SunPower (I believe) who contracts through Costco and Pell was thousands cheaper.

Shaun was so incredibly thorough, honest (there were points where he told me that because of my super low energy costs in Azusa, the system really wasn't necessary) and over-communicated throughout the process. I've recommended him to family in the area. Big fan. I ended up moving to it honestly because I wanted the future equity addition to the home and...because I thought it was badass to have solar :)

We had issues with my HOA and the city of Azusa (confusion on their ends) and his team handled the months of back and forth with ease and grace.

Financing was a breeze through their credit union partner and the additional cost of having to upgrade my electrical panel was included in my loan. Incredibly happy and satisfied!

    UPDATE MAY 21, 2025:
The owner, Josh Pellerin has replied below with a tone deaf response about the company being solar as though they were never Pell Air. Pell Air (now Pell Solar) were one and the same years ago though they may be different now. This is why he is referenced as the owner of both companies. Pellerin's lack of accountability and smugness - which is referenced in my original review - still ring's true today.

I'm giving a one star rating because I am unable to give zero, however, that is my true rating. Pell Air's owner, Josh, is the rudest and most unprofessional individual I have ever run across. 10 years ago, my family had an air and heating unit installed in our home by Pell Air. Every year thereafter, we have had it serviced by the company when the Spring and Summer months were coming up - including last year. This year, yesterday, we called Josh who rudely told us that the company no longer serviced heating and air and was strictly a solar service now. We explained that we didn't know that and that someone from his company should've notified us, via U.S. mail at least, as we have been longtime customers. He then became very defensive and accused us of getting an attitude and stated, "You don't have to get an attitude". To which we replied we didn't have an attitude but were dissatisfied with the lack of communication from his company. I have never heard such disregard for a longtime loyal customer in my life. Josh is inconsiderate, brash, and unnecessarily smug. Customer service training is needed, but he's the owner so I don't expect these practices to improve. Consider yourselves warned.

We began our solar install search Oct 2019. We were hoping to get it installed before years end to maximize our tax credit (2019). Nothing like waiting till the last minute! We had 3 installers come out to provide quotes (Sunlux, Solar Max and Pell) and decided on Pell. While all price quotes were relatively close, Aaron from Pell was able to talk to my husband about the construction part of the process, how the brackets would be attached to our roof, etc. which appealed to my husband. Aaron wasn’t just a sells guy pushing a product. We wanted a section of our roof re-done prior to solar install and Aaron was able to help facilitate that. The roofing company was great as well (quick, quality work and cleaned up after themselves). To top it off our solar system was installed before the end of the year. We did have a little hiccup after the install, but Aaron always kept communication open and it was all resolved in a timely manner. I would recommend Pell Solar.

Went with Shaun Rodgers at Pell Solar for our 13.7Kwh system just under a year ago. Compared them to a couple of national companies and several local ones. The national companies were over priced, had way too many bad reviews, and sub-contracted everything. The local companies were all very close in price, reviews, expertise, and warranties. However, Pell had the best combination of those, and Shaun was able customize the system to the size we needed, using the hardware we preferred, for a low price. We wanted a zero electric bill and we got it (except for $15 a month we can't offset no matter what). Not just zero at the end of the year, but negative every month. We even asked him to anticipate the addition of pool equipment, which he did. Pool equipment installed, and we are still negative. Even if the output declines by 15% over 25 - 30 years, we will still probably end up being negative or at least breaking even. That is how you plan and engineer a solar system. Exactly what we wanted. Our install was right at the pinnacle of the pandemic distribution problems, so our panels took almost 2.5 months to arrive, but otherwise the system would have been installed in less than a month after signing the contract. Took them one day of work for the actual install.

Hats off to Pell Solar Inc for helping me make an informed decision on my home solar project the install team is highly knowledgeable making the installation process from start to finish seamless with a picture perfect end product I will recommend Pell Solar Inc to anyone considering solar energy

Just installed a large off grid total solar system with Tesla Power Walls and huge array of panels. An amazingly beautiful installation and great service. The price was very important to our decision and more competitive than other companies. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a solar system.

I'm glad I went with Pell solar for to install solar power on my house.. I met Shaun Rodgers at the LA County fair and was very happy with his presentation...I was happy with the whole installation process everything went as smoothly as I was promised.. my electricity bill is always less than a dollar now.. I recommend pell solar to to anyone considering getting solar..

Pell first did our solar on the roof years ago, and now Pell installed 2 Tesla Powerwall 3 battery units for us. We appreciate their quick satisfactory response to issues and their professional approach.

My wife and I had our solar panels installed by this company in the spring of 2024. From day one we have had terrible experiences with this company. It has taken nearly a year to get the panels working properly.

On top of all that, we have been treated with terrible disrespect by the owner of the company. Please go with a well-established operation. We have lost dozens of hours and thousands of dollars trying to get these panels fixed and working properly.

We've been dealing with Pell-Solar for over 12 years now. Not a fly by night company like so many others. Always have done what they say when they say they will. Would recommend them without hesitation.
    Jon, a very satisfied customer.

The installation men were very professional and efficient in installing the battery for my solar. The work was completed and the area's were cleaned up! I am extremely satisfied with the workers and the installation of my solar battery.
