Energy Solution Direct is a scam company. I recently purchased a home where they installed the panels. The manufacturer stated it’s one of the worst installs they have never seen. It’s so bad that they are running it up the chain to upper management. First they drilled a hole in the top of the electrical box which in turn trapped water inside and burnt out all of the wiring. Now the manufacturer has let me know that the entire system could now be ruined. They also said that due to the installers cutting corners and not properly installing the anchors the structure of our roof is also in question. You will see in the pictures the electrical box and pictures of the install. If you know solar, you will notice many anchors are missing. I’ve tried to get ESD out to the house for over 7 weeks but they keep saying they are too busy to get me on the schedule. Then randomly they told me they came by and no one was home and I now owe them $250. I had to actually hire a 3rd party to come out or I would have never figured any of this out. Don’t use this company. They are a shell company and not a legit solar company.

The group of guys that did my roof were great. They work great with each other and got the job done and cleaned everything up afterwards. Thank.

Jordan was a great help to me especially since nothing was here that he thought he was doing. He is very knowledgeable and very professional. He was definitely a good hire!

Joseph drove a long way to get here. He was extremely polite and took his time answering questions that I had. This is an upgrade from a system that was unsatisfactory and not producing to what was promised. I’m really appreciative for all of the information he provided. I’m really hoping the additional investment for the corrections and upgrade will be just as we discussed. I will be leaving another review once the job is finished and operating.

The technician sent by your company, Pedro, was excellent. He was extremely professional. Very polite. They were here early. In and out. Cleaned up after themselves. Didn’t leave any garbage. I appreciate that.

I used ESD Solar about 2 1/2 years ago to put solar panels on my roof, we have had no issues with the solar what so ever. Fast forward to present I was shopping getting quotes from companies to replace the roof on my home, I called ESD and we ended up working some numbers that worked with me. They removed the panels which was about 1 day process, then a couple days later came and took the old shingles off, replaced some boards and a couple days later they had the roof finished. I have no complaints what so ever on the work they did, the only thing that was frustrating was I kept finding old roofing nails in my yard everywhere, throughout the whole process I was reporting everything to Katelyn, she apologized for it and the next day she had Leon (the foreman) at my house hours away from there shop walking around with a magnet and since then I’ve only found one nail. Throughout the whole bidding, doing the job, permit updates, and everything else Katelyn was a #1 star, she kept in contact everytime, everytime I’ve called her she’s picked the phone up, she deserves a A++ for customer service, I have had the roof on for about a month now, all permits are passed and the solar is reinstalled, I have no complaints for anyone, they did a very clean job on the roof, clean clean up, and great customer service. Matt the salesman, Katelyn in the office, Leon the foreman, and Ian the manager did a great job!

I used them once and I will use them again, they are a great company to do work with!

I am adding on the review that I did a few years ago. I actually turned off my solar system when evacuating for Helene- I thought I had turned off my generator. So when I called to say my system was not working, Jared sent out Pedro, who is fantastic, and was able to troubleshoot and figure out what happened. He Got my system all back online, updated the software, and did it all with a respectful, tremendously professional attitude.
I cannot say enough good things about this company. If you are considering solar, please use one of the best companies and a really good Owner, Jared. You won’t be sorry!

I have been a business owner my entire life and appreciate the work ethic of Jared and his team.
He reached out to me last week -two years after my panels were installed to let me know that my system is off-line for some reason because he could not see it reporting correctly ... he then sent a service person over to handle it.
Did you read what I said, they called me!!
It’s the right thing to do, put solar panels on your house, decrease your carbon footprint, do everything you can to help this earth compensate for what we are all doing to it and in the process save some money and feel good about the message you are sending to your community!
Oh and call ESD- Literally today I had a gutter company at my house cleaning gutters. When they were done the guy came to the door and asked me who did my solar install? I said why did you see a problem? He said no it’s actually the best install I’ve ever seen and I’m on a lot of roofs!

Avoid ESD Solar – Poor Service, No Accountability

I strongly advise against using ESD Solar, especially if you value customer service, accountability, or a company that stands behind its work. My experience with their service department has been nothing short of frustrating. When my solar arrays stopped reporting, it took weeks just to get a response from their team. After several attempts to follow up, they finally agreed to send a technician, but only after requiring a deposit, even though the issue was clearly related to their installation.

When the technician arrived, he found that some connectors had come loose, a clear workmanship issue. He fixed the problem by tie-wrapping the connectors together to get the system back online. However, this information was never communicated back to their service team. Instead, they claimed the tech had simply “reset the system,” which I had already done multiple times prior without success.

Despite clear evidence that the issue was due to their faulty installation, ESD Solar has refused to refund the service deposit. They’ve repeatedly given me the runaround, failed to acknowledge the technician’s actual findings, and shown no interest in honoring their warranty on workmanship.

This company lacks integrity and transparency, and based on my experience, should not be doing business in Texas or anywhere else. There are many reputable solar companies out there—do yourself a favor and choose someone else.

ESD is a great company to work with. They did a great job replacing the roof on our house after Hurricane Milton. We had a very unique situation with the property since we had to deal with a loss in the family at the same time, leading to insurance delays and probate.

Their shining star at the company is Katelyn!! She was incredibly kind, super knowledgeable, patient and a true blessing to us through the process. From the time of damage and even after the repairs were done she walked us through every step of the process with handling the insurance claim and getting all of the permits. She even worked with some of the other company’s that we had to use for other repairs to make sure that everything was smooth with our insurance claim. She was able to help me navigate the paperwork with my HOA and even probate court, which made my life so much easier. She was so reassuring and was able to take a very complicated situation and alleviate all of the stress from my husband and I.

Katelyn, if you see this review, I want you to know how incredibly grateful we are for you. I hope that the company knows that you are truly a wonderful professional and a huge asset to them. Your help and support through this entire process has meant the world to us!

Pedro was an excellent technician and was prompt and explained what happened. My problem is with the office policies of collecting payment well before the service date instead of on the day of service and taking 3 weeks to get a service date

Just got my system installed, and the team was great! Clean install and cleaned up well after themselves. The panels look great, and they were able to fit them all exactly where I wanted. Excited to produce all my own energy. Thanks ESD for such a simple process!

Had a solar system installed 2 years ago. My biggest issue with the system is it's production. Nowhere near the promised number. Making things worse their system shows a lot more production than FPLs certified net metering. I suspect they artificially pump up production numbers reporting on the app and hope they won't be caught. Customer service did not get back to me with relevant information on the issue. Very disappointed.
ESD shows net export of 500kWh, FPL shows net import of 1MWh. That is 16% difference which is unexplainable FPL meter is certified, the emphase system ESD setup is not. Do not rely on what your app shows!

Careful this company will scam you. They tell customers they will only pay their deductible for a new roof and they will collect the balance from insurance, only to bill the customer thousands of dollars more later. They will send you threatening text messages. That is a scam and illegal under The Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. It is dishonest, unfair, and unconscionable business conduct and should be reported to the Florida Attorney General. This company should be investigated.
