DO NOT use these people!!! SERVPRO's in general have a good reputation BUT these guys are a franchise and they have not played ball fair!!!

I had a credit through Shumate for them to take care of my mold remediation and duct cleaning for a space that was moldy due to improper install of a new unit. Shumate (after 6 months of hounding) sent in SERVPRO to fix the mess.

They incurred a fee of $875 on a storage unit that was parked in my front yard in their name and then tried to pass that fee to me. They never told me about the cost of the unit. I never agreed to it, I didn't sign for it and I would not have. After 4 months of incurred fees for this unit the front office lady, Tammie begins to call me insist I am past due on an $875 bill. From the first second of the first phone call we ever had she threatened that the bill was way past due and heading for collections. Mind you this is the first time I had even heard that there was a bill incurring. Shumate paid them for the entirety of their services.

Fast forward a month and I've spoken to my main contact for SERVPRO, Wes. He is not willing to accept that the storage unit is not my bill to pay. I NEVER knew about it!! The moment I did- it was empty in 24 hrs so that no more fees would be incurred.

Reluctantly, after being told I'm being sent to collections (final notice). I agreed with Wes that he could take the final amount of the storage unit bill out of my credit from Shumate to clean out my vents. The vent cleaning according to Wes was north of $1400. This would leave me with a $600 credit toward the vents for the future.

As of today after another rude email from Tammie and a brief, dismissive call from Wes he's denying our agreement. I now have no credit and in fact he's doing me a favor because my balance is more than the duct price but he'll just eat that difference.

The whole point of these people is to help you in times of disaster!! In my experience they won't help you. They'll make your life harder!!!

I can't imagine if The original service was mine to pay. I'm sure they over charged Shumate and added random charges.

For reference, SERVPRO ended up taking drywall & insulation down, spraying a MCR type product to keep mold at bay and filtering air for a few days... that bill was close to 9k... LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!

ServPro of Stone Mountain/Clarkston does a wonderful job for anyone I have referred. They are great communicators and put customers first. They are quick to respond and very professional. I highly recommend!
