Professional service. Garage roof done quickly and neatly. They did a great job of cleaning up after the job was done. When we wanted one adjustment made to something, they were very accommodating. I recommend them without hesitation.

Excellent service and price. I live nearby and Steve came to my house and gave a very competitive estimate. A complete tear off and reshingle was completed in a half a day a couple of weeks ago. I am very happy with the work and the price. I wouldn't hesitate calling Ed and the gang again.

I Emailed Second City on a monday night with what I needed done . Tuesday morning I received a call from Ed Baker. After speaking with Ed, he told me I can have someone their in an hour. Luis showed up and we talked. I felt very comfortable with him. I called luis on a couple of occasions with questions and he either picked up right away of called me back within the hour. the crews that did the work were respectful of my neighbors and friendly. I reccomend Second City to anyone that needs work done on their house

I had a two story back porch rebuilt, the job was done in a timely manner, The workmen were very timely and most of all very clean, The representative Casey Zepka was the best, very kind, returned calls , took time to answer and explain everything to me, kept me well informed, , The price was reasonable than competitors. I was really impressed with this company and would recommend them 100% to family and friends

They redid the roof a few years ago and it was great. Recently we experienced a leak and Second City had someone at the house that evening to look at it. The next day they were on the roof making the repair. They even had someone come in to fix the water damage on the ceiling, and they did an excellent job. I could not be happier with this experience. Second City stands by their work, are helpful, and responsive. They do a fantastic job.

We recently had our roof redone by Second City. We cannot say enough good things about the owner, foreman and this company. They were professional and very polite. They're bid was competitive with other companies but what sold us was their promptness in communication during the bidding phase. The whole job took a total of 3 days to complete. They cleaned up every single bit of debris at the end of each day. They protected our shrubs, trees, etc. We had a couple flat landscape stepping stones that cracked during the three days and they replaced the cracked ones on top of the six non-cracked ones on their own free will. In addition, they went around and recalked the interior part of every skylight in our house. We recommended Second City already to a handful of friends and would highly recommend them to anyone reading these reviews.

About ten years ago Second City helped us with installation of great quality windows. We needed their services again. I called booked an in home free estimate. Well they never showed up nor called. My husband called to see what happened and they were apologetic. We understand things happen that throw schedules off but a simple phone call would help. Not good to feel dismissed. Seeking help with another business.

I was so disappointed by this company. I had scheduled a quote for tuckpointing and a flat roof repair/replacement for our condo association. I found this company on Google and the reviews seemed very promising. I called on 4/18 and scheduled with Mark to come out at 3:30 on 4/24. on 4/24 At 3:50pm my neighbor messaged me that Mark was not on site and did not respond to her text. I called & Mark stated he totally forgot however he could be on site in 30 minutes. Totally understood these things happen- no problem. My neighbor walked him through the job of tuckpointing our 3 story building and the roof. Mark stated this was going to be 50,000-70,000 but he would give us a proper proposal via email. This # seemed really high but I was interested to get the break down as it is a lot of work. I have called weekly since then and each time I am told Mark is going to get right back to me- I will get a call same day and I never get a return call from Mark or the staff. The staff at the main number are very nice and helpful- but is this the service we will get for a 50,000+ job?? Total waste of my time and patience.

My wife and I own a typical Chicago 2 flat with a flat roof.

We received several estimates from potential local licensed and reputable roofing companies to replace our flat roof. I felt most comfortable with Second City because of Mark who walked the job with me and submitted his proposal and contract because I was impressed by his expertise and experience. We decided to hire them.

Second City was no where near the cheapest quote we received, but since a complete tear off and replacement of our flat roof is a very important and expensive project, we wanted to hire a very reputable and professional company.

This is when the problems started.

We spent $14,200.00 to, unfortunately, receive a project that lasted more than 2 months to complete- with little to no supervision, multiple problems, constant no-call no-shows by the crew (that had nothing to do with any weather related issues) on specifically scheduled work that I had to make myself available for, and an owner that could not care less, and was more than arrogant and rude to me on multiple occasions.

Ed Baker, the President and Owner himself, personally scheduled a final walk thru meeting with me which I appreciated and agreed to. Even Ed himself didn't show up, without even a courtesy call, to his own scheduled meeting that he set with me. I re-arranged my calendar for this meeting. When I called him to ask his time of arrival (I figured he was running late) he immediately cursed and swore at me, then yelled at me thru the phone stating that he was sick of sending his crew to my property to fix their mistakes, and asked me if I would rather him speak to me this way in person face to face, and then said he was going to place a lien on our building.

I received a lien release after this horrendous and insulting conversation from him and still wonder why he would ever threaten and treat a customer who spent so much money with Second City this way, and who was always available and flexible for their repeatedly missed appointments to continue their roof replacement project.

I am not only left speechless to this day, but more importantly my wife and I are ashamed that we hired this company.

We live in a 3-flat condo building in the city of Chicago and were in need of a roofer to address issues that were causing visible water damage inside. We called out 4 roofing contractors and found Second City to be the best. They came out within days of our call during the busy/heavy spring rain and flooding week in Chicago. And, their analysis was on par with the others we had received (i.e, they didn't suggest any unnecessary work and told us our roof had another 5-8 years of life). We appreciated that they stuck to the issue at hand. They offered us three different estimates for three levels of service and offered excellent warranties on the latter two options. We opted for the mid-range level of work. They scheduled around our availability to work from home and were done in two days. Their customer service was also great - they followed up to see if we had questions on the estimates and after the work was finished, they scheduled around us and were able to get the work done quickly. The price was in line with others, if not slightly less. We feel comforted by their service and with the warranty.

Second City did a fabulous job on my flat roof. Their crew cleaned up everyday before they left. They were very respectful and professional. Beautiful Job!!! Steve was awesome to work with and very reassuring of the company's quality of work and pride. Thank you so much!

My house was in serious need of tuck pointing. Second City was on time completed the job with no issues and now my house looks better than ever. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done on their home. They had great customer service and were easy to make an appointment with.

Second City did a phenomenal job installing a very secured hatch cover for entrance to the roof. The customer service was great also! It was easy to make an appointment and receive a quote. I highly recommend!

Second City has been my go to for many years and projects. Wrought Iron, not aluminum, fence was first. The latest being concrete in backyard and my new walk-in shower is simply awesome. If the quote sometimes seems a but higher than others, remember one gets what one pays for. The work and contractors are superb with great tips of info. Ed and Dennis are great to work with. Maggie is awesome and sets a great tone with her first-impression customer service skills. If work is required around your castle, call the best, Second City 👍🏾👍🏾 you will not regret it if the best is what you're seeking
