Building Restoration reviews in Lexington, Kentucky

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the professionalism demonstrated. Despite numerous attempts to contact the representative, I have received no response. They had committed to contacting us to assist with our flooded basement and provide an invoice, but we have yet to receive any communication. Unfortunately, this experience has eroded my trust in companies that provide this type of service.

Misty Leto Noah Logan Nicole Thomas and Clayton These workers were very efficient. They were team players and completed their duties in an outstanding manner.

The short story is that we needed a water mitigation company to repair damaged flooring from a leaky toilet. Based on reviews, I settled on Paul Davis Restoration. They came out almost immediately. They told me their company would take care of the demolition, dry everything out, and then put it all back together, and they would even work with my insurance company to make it all happen. I was sure to point out that because my son is autistic, I needed this work done quickly to disrupt him as little as possible. They said it wouldn’t be a problem, and so they provided the estimate on 4/10/2024 and began deconstruction 4/29/2024. They even worked in khakis and company polo shirts, which might not seem like an important point, but I thought it spoke volumes about their level of professionalism. Our water mitigation crew consisted of Dallas, James, Thomas, Austin, and Jaicob. All very wonderful and professional, BUT I feel like the initial contact with Dallas should have included an estimate of when ALL of the work would be completed and we would get our house back. That 100% DID NOT HAPPEN. Also, all communication regarding estimates was done with my insurance adjustor; this company NEVER provided a single estimate to me directly. Cameron was the project manager assigned to me for the reconstruction phase. He was better at the communication aspect, responsive to my texts and phone calls and very polite and professional. Cameron did the walk-through and submitted estimates to his company and then to my adjustor, but it wasn’t until while we were on vacation the first week of June that I got the notification that everything had been approved. We were finally told reconstruction would start 7/10/2024 and would last for two weeks. It wasn’t until 7/18/2024 before anyone showed up to work. Work progressed through 7/25/2024, and then sporadically after that. I need to add here that all of the reconstruction work was done by another company, not Paul Davis. I actually think we might have had a much better experience if everyone had been a Paul Davis employee instead of a subcontractor. But because it wasn’t, I was given all kinds of excuses about how Paul Davis couldn’t help it if the other company wasn’t coming out to do the work, and no they could not bring in a different crew because Paul Davis had a contract with this other company. I’d hired Paul Davis to do the work, not the subcontractor, and so Paul Davis was responsible for everything that was or was not done, how long it took to get things done, and the quality of the work. Paul Davis sent a crew out to do a deep clean of my home after the majority of the work was completed. Misty and Lettie were incredible! So very kind and attentive to my home and did an OUTSTANDING job! It was a breath of fresh air, and the air was literally fresher when they left. It is now 8/20/2024, and the project is finally complete as of today. At this point, my autistic family has been traumatized over the whole ordeal, and I’m so stressed I think I might need to look into some therapy. Would I ever hire Paul Davis again? Depends on the size of the project and whether they’re still subcontracting out the work. I hope to NEVER have to go through something even remotely close to this again.

Josh came out to my home just hours after Hurricane Milton flooded it. The next day, Dallas and Thomas came out to begin the job of water mitigation and demolition and prevent further damage from the flood water. The entire team was extremely pleasant to work with and had excellent communication throughout the process. We are so thankful this team was so responsive to help Floridians in need of their service!

The Paul Davis crew came today to finish the installation of the insulation in the crawl space. They notified us ahead and completed the job. Thanks for a job well done by Yallen and Austin. Tim and Nancy Pearson

They came right out after we had a sewage back up. Tore out damaged materials. They had to put fans in to dry the floor out. They checked on them every day. It was then discovered that additional flooring needed to be torn out. They needed to tear it out the next day which was Sunday. They were so nice told me they would come after I attended church. The guys are so polite and very thorough.

We had fire retardant dust all over our client gym. It was on barbells, shelving, just everywhere. Within a few hours it was all cleaned up like it never happened. I’m sure it is cleaner now than it was before the fire. Thanks to Chad, Misty and Gus for their hard work. It was a relief to not have to worry about getting everything cleaned. Chad sent updates until the job was done so I never had to check in.

Today we had Misty, Leti, Yallen, Noah pack us up so restoration work could begin after water damage. They arrived, told us the game plan and got right to work. They made it a lot less stressful than I thought it would be. They were an excellent crew.

Thank you to Andie from the marketing team for taking time to explain the benefits of working with Paul Davis for mitigation and restoration services. Andie responds quickly and has awesome communication skills!!!

My experience with Paul Davis Restoration was unfortunately very disappointing. From the beginning, there were major issues with communication — I often had to follow up multiple times just to get basic updates. What made matters worse was the handling of the insurance process; due to missed deadlines and delays on their end, the claim submission was late, creating unnecessary complications and stress.
The work on my house was completed in August (we signed off on final work then), yet an additional claim to insurance was submitted in November. It was then they told us we owed an additional $3,000+. Our original claim started in June, and the work on our house was delayed over a month because the contractor was waiting to hear back from our insurance. This is confirmed via texts with the contractor. So it was a huge surprise to be told we all of a sudden owed over $3000 due to "more work than what was originally thought" needed to he done.
Legally we signed a contract in the beginning of June that said we would pay the difference if needed, HOWEVER, it was clearly stated to us that they were delaying the work on our house for approval with insurance and when they got it they would resume (again all of this is in texts with the contractor). We wrongfully trusted them when they came back to finish the work, and then three months later we were hit with an over $3000 bill.
When we started questioning them and brought our proof to the table, the entire team that worked on our house was fired over the weekend. They so graciously offered to do a payment plan, HOWEVER, they did not have a contract to sign and stated that this national company that has been in buisness for decades has never really dont this before and they would have to talk to the general manager in order to make a contract up....or they could meet us at our house and take cash.....then they immediately put a lein on our home
I came into the office multiple times and asked via email, text, and phone call to speak with the general manager. I dont know why, but he literally REFUSED to talk to me. From November of 2024-May of 2025 I only spoke to him one time over the phone and he just asked me "well, so what would you like me to do?" Then he said he would talk to the team. NOTHING came of that conversation and I never heard from him again. I was forced to only talk to the very put in the middle 24 year old accountant who could never give me the answers I needed due to him not being a manager.
My insurance agent stated he will never suggest Paul Davis again due to how unprofessional they are, and the fact that ON RECORDED PHONE CALLS they will say one thing and then send an email trying to cover up what was just discussed. When called out they make a phone call, but again it is recorded and they just "apologize for any misunderstandings."
Want to know what the extra work was that they needed to do on the house was? They had to paint more walls, and put in floor boards because they may look different due to being newer than the paint and floor boards in the rest of the house. Again, if I knew I was going to be charged $3000 for this I would have PAINTED THE WALLS MYSELF, and I could have lived with the floor boards looking a little more bright than the rest for a few months. Want to know the best part about this extra work being done? The first contractor they sent our had NO IDEA what all he was supposed to do, and I had to give him the original "work estimate" paper so he could plan put his next couple days, and buy more than one gallon of paint because he thought he was only painting the bathroom.....
I take full responsibility for signing the contract in the beginning, but it needs to be known how unprofessional and irradic the behavior of this company is, and how sneaky their business practices are when they clearly made a mistake, but want to get every cent they can get out of a young couple with young children who had to have their house fixed and thought this was a reputable company. -
We called Paul Davis after our sump pump failed and flooded our basement. They were very responsive and friendly and took their time to explain what they were doing. We have three little kids and I appreciated how quickly and safely they addressed the issue. Thomas, Dallas and Yallen helped us and they were all wonderful.

If I could give zero Stars I would. Paul Davis has been extremely unprofessional and has caused a lot of Anguish for my family. They did a subpar job on the repairs on my home, and we're completely unprofessional during the whole process. My house took months to complete when it should have only taken a couple weeks. I am encouraging my insurance company to never recommend them again as I did not have a choice when I made the insurance claim

Phenomenal work from this all-star staff! Special shout-out to Becca for helping me every step of the way.

Very satisfied with Paul Davis and their employees. Jacob, Thomas, Austin and Noah. They came promptly to my home within hours of the damage being reported and were very accommodating very step of the process. I appreciated that they took time to minimize the scope of the demolition for my home as much as possible rather than maximizing the project for themselves.

Rebecca was such a delight to work with! So helpful and kind! Will definitely recommend to everyone!

Paul Davis employees came within 2 hours of me reporting my house flooding to the insurance company. The employees stayed till 2am that night to get the drying process started. The employees kept me updated on the restoration process and checked on the house regularly. They also communicated with my insurance. Highly recommendating using Paul Davis.

Jeremy Bailey and his team were wonderful in helping when our sump pump failed and had a lot of water in our basement. He and his team with Dallas, Noah, Clayton and Owen arrived about an hour after calling and immediately got to work. They were professional and empathtic to the situation as we had never gone through this before and have young children. We appreciate everything you did to help us!

We met the "League of Gentlemen" through Paul Davis. The were quick to response and courteous and very understanding in our situation. They answered all of our questions and tried their best to accommodate us. Worthy to mention Mr. Yellen, Marshall, Thomas, Noah and Austin whom we met. Some of the most polite and professional staff they have. These are great assets for any company. Thank you
