Hopefully they do a better job at restoration than they do it stopping at stop signs.

As a property manager, I've now been using the team over at Toepfer since 2017 and have found consistent, reliable and competent responses and work from them for whatever my situation is. Honestly, no job has been too big or too small. They find a way to get it done.

Complete thieves! DO NOT use this company.
My husband and I used Toepfer to come out and look at some wet beams we had before closing up the drywall in our living room ceiling that still seemed wet after a leak we had. We simply wanted to make sure they were actually dry before replacing the drywall so we wouldn't have mold issues.
In our communication with Toepfer, we were clear that this was not an emergency whatsoever prior to scheduling their technician's visit and specifically stated in email that if it affected pricing, it was not time sensitive. They sent us a water abatement contract with no pricing info on it and we agreed to pay the cost of whatever ACTUAL work they may have to do upon their visit, naively assuming that the cost would be minimal since it was just taking a look and using a moisture meter (which we also owned)...no real water leaking or big emergency to take care of. There was absolutely ZERO communication to us about any flat rate or fee for a service call. The technician came out to our home, stuck a moisture meter into our ceiling beam, said it was dry enough to replace the drywall, and left. The entire appointment took FIVE MINUTES and we received a bill for $450. Absolutely outrageous!
We reached out several times for clarification of the charge and received delayed, disinterested communication and were simply told that this was their flat rate and we would be sent to collections if we didn't pay. Ultimately we ended up paying just to make them go away, but I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone! I'm a business owner myself, and their business ethics are absolutely abhorrent! Beware of hidden costs and don't sign anything...better yet...just use ANYONE else! -

As a property manager I used Toepfer for fire, flood and mold remediation services for over a decade. As a local, family-owned and operated business their responsiveness, work quality, and integrity are without equal. They always kept my clients fully satisfied and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs disaster recovery or general construction services!

Avoid this company. They repaired a flood in my apartment building. When doing repairs, they broke my piano by placing objects on the keys. They also covered my apartment and furniture in adhesive that they used on the flooring. They said they would clean the furniture, but it’s been a week and I haven’t heard anything. Their contractors used my shower (presumably to wash the adhesive from their hands) and left my shower head on the floor of the shower, covered in adhesive. After reaching out to the owner about the damages, he wrote it off and refuses to take responsibility for his workers. He is incredibly snide, condescending, and talks down to people. It wears off on his employees, one of who told me “Good luck proving that they broke anything” after they rearranged my entire apartment. If the contractors were not knowledgeable on how to move an instrument, they should have left their hands off of it or called me. Furthermore, it’s basic knowledge not to place heavy items on the keys of a piano, or so I thought. Their solution to their workers damaging my personal property was to have my insurance cover it. Which as you probably know, is not how that works. If they come to do any additional work before I move out, I will make sure to be present in the home as it is apparent they are incapable of monitoring their workers.
As far as quality of work goes, the floor is coming up in dozens of places which is testament to their “craftsmanship.” Kick boards were left unfinished for weeks, the paint job is shoddy, and you’d think it was a team of toddlers doing repairs with how much clean up you’ll have to do after the crews leave. I wouldn’t touch this company with a 100 ft pole. They have earned their sub 3 star ratings. You’d think a company of 60+ years would learn some professionalism and competency. Keep your belongings safe/in working order and go with a professional organization instead of this circus.
Update: They finally decided to pay to replace my piano. However, the owner never took responsibility for the actions of the workers. In fact, he said before the check was issued that he does not claim responsibility and that he doesn’t think his workers broke it. I’m happy I am getting my belongings fixed, but this company is not worth the headache.

Kyle Toepfer and his team responded quickly when I identified a patch of black mold on my ceiling. They evaluated the problem, determined the scope of needed repairs, and completed the work completely on a time table that worked for my schedule. Toepfer had rebuilt my unit after a fire several years ago so they were familiar with the layout and infrastructure of the building, which is why I contacted them. The mold and source of moisture are removed, the repair work is very neat, and there is no evidence that a portion of drywall had been cut out and patched. They repainted the ceiling for continuity of appearance. Excellent work! Neat and thorough.

I was introduced to Toepfer more than 12 years ago, and since their first job, they have been the only emergency restoration company I will use. Our relationship has spanned 12+ years, 2 companies, more than fifty multifamily properties, and several million dollars, and not once have I been unhappy with the relationship or result. I have never worked with a company that makes such a stressful process as smooth as Toepfer does and can offer such peace of mind that I know they have everything under control from the moment they walk onto a job. Their team is consistent, reliable, trustworthy, fair, and communicates thoroughly. Most importantly, they treat our sites, teams, and residents as if they were their own, which is why our teams and residents love them as much as I do. I can't speak highly enough about them, but I encourage anyone with a need to reach out, and in just a conversation, you will see for yourself.

I had some water damage in my kitchen and toepfer construction did a great job and did all their work in a timely manner. Robert and Todd were both great and their workers were respectful in my house. I would use them again if I were to get the same team of great people!

Not trustworthy, not recommend & Horrible experience from 12/2022 to 5/2/2023, Owners visit condo @ early morning & evening & discovered workers left food trash & lights on when not working, damages include: ceiling fixtures, painted over lighting fixtures & outlets, & plumbing issues not caused by tenant (debri flushed down sink & toilets , had separate contractor assess damages), kitchen & inside storage door, painting problems, & lockbox & code was changed & owner had to be made aware. Prior unnecessary cost included: 3+ weeks of fans running, etc.
Cleaners did not clean thoroughly & blinds were dirty from construction work & property owner had to re-clean areas.
Suggestion: Avoid using Toepfer for repairs. The company did not accept responsibility & the actions are common in reviews.
If Toepfer is assigned, please Do not allow contractors work @ your home without the homeowner present.

Five stars are not enough for Toepfer Construction Company.
Our experience began dramatically when a 16-year-old driver crashed straight through our brick garage one night. Within minutes our quiet neighborhood looked like a movie scene—police cars, an ambulance, fire trucks, even a helicopter overhead. What followed was a four-month journey (August 26–December 26) involving insurance adjusters, building inspectors, and what ultimately became a partial rebuild of the garage.
Toepfer handled everything beautifully. They coordinated masons, electricians, carpenters and other specialists, communicated constantly through detailed emails and texts, and worked seamlessly with both the insurance company and the local permitting process so work could move forward quickly.
One detail meant a lot to me personally: I’m a bit of a collector, and my 2010 Miata is extremely special to me. The crew immediately understood that and treated the car and surrounding space with real care and respect.
My wife owns a real estate brokerage and works with contractors regularly. She kept saying she has rarely been as impressed with a construction company as she was with Toepfer.
Most important, the people were simply wonderful—kind, professional, punctual (often early), and always respectful. As a same-sex couple, my wife and I also appreciated how comfortable and welcoming everyone was.
Toepfer clearly excels at helping homeowners recover from disasters like ours, but it’s obvious they can handle just about any construction project. They are a long-standing local family business and true professionals.
By the end of the project everything looked fantastic—and as strange as it sounds, we almost missed having the crew around every day.
Highly recommended.

Finally a good contractor!!! Everything about the process was good. I was a little hesitant about paying the initial 1/3rd deposit at first as I didn't know much about them. However I understand that they would need the money to buy the materials, I am impressed with the material selection and quality workmanship. They completed the project ahead of schedule and kept the worksite clean. I would definitely use them again for future projects.

Mario and his staff saved us from a botched deck job from another contractor. They worked so fast and so efficient & finished the job in less than a week. We are so pleased with their work & professionalism, they checked out all the boxes and I give them 5 stars.

Alex and his team did an outstanding job constructing a screened in porch (3 seasons room) for my home. He also was able to construct a storage area under the porch as I requested. His execution of this project surpassed all my expectations. I knew what I wanted it to look like and he made it better. I highly recommend Alex for any project. Great price, great quality, great guy. Thanks Alex.

My husband and I wanted to get at least 3 estimates before deciding on a company to replace our old deck with composite flooring. However, after meeting Mario, we both had very positive vibes...it was the patience he exuded and his humbling, spirit that convinced us to use MG Luxury Decks. We never once worried if they would show up or complete the job, we just knew they would. They worked tirelessly for 2 wks and finished 1 wk ahead of schedule. It was such a positive and stress-free experience working with Mario. Next spring they will come back and repl the lower deck. Our combined deck is just over 700 sq ft...so we opted to complete it in 2 phases. I am so honored to recommend MG Luxury Decks for your deck project, trusting that you're in good hands.Check out this review of MG Luxery Decks.
