How to Choose the Right Technician

Hiring someone to open up your machines is a decision about cost, safety, and trust: worth more than an impulse phone call. This is the short version of how we'd approach it, and the criteria embedded in every GigoPro profile.

Start with ratings and recent reviews.

Ratings tell you the average; recent reviews tell you the truth about right now. Read the last handful of reviews, not just the stars. A technician who fixes the reported problem, explains what was wrong, and leaves the site clean is the one you can trust with your appliances.

Confirm they cover your appliance and brand.

Not every technician works on every machine. Check that the company services your appliance type and brand — a generalist may not be the right choice for a Sub-Zero refrigerator or a commercial oven. The profile lists covered brands and models.

Get at least two written estimates.

Reputable pros diagnose, then give a written, itemized estimate: diagnostic fee, parts, and labor as separate lines. Ask what each quote includes and excludes — and whether the diagnostic fee is credited toward the repair if you proceed.

Verify credentials and parts policy

Ask about licensing, insurance, and certification for refrigerant work. Ask whether they use original (OEM) parts or aftermarket equivalents, and what warranty covers the repair. Professional companies answer these questions without hesitation.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Do you service my appliance brand and model?
  • What is the diagnostic fee, and is it applied to the repair cost?
  • Will I receive a written, itemized estimate before work starts?
  • Do you use original (OEM) parts, and what warranty covers the repair?
  • Are you licensed and insured, and certified for refrigerant work if needed?
  • How is after-hours or emergency service charged?

Red flags to walk away from

  • Vague pricing that changes once the technician arrives, or pressure to approve immediately.
  • Refusal to put the estimate in writing.
  • Insisting on replacing the whole appliance when a clear, cheaper fix exists.
  • Demanding full payment upfront before any work is performed.

GigoPro makes each step faster — reviews, ratings, service areas, and contacts are all on one profile page, so the vetting happens before you even pick up the phone.

Appliance Facts Worth Knowing

A few facts about how appliances work - and how they fail, will save you money and frustration.

  • Your refrigerator runs 24/7: it is usually the biggest energy user in the kitchen, which is why dirty condenser coils (which make it work harder) cost you real money on every electricity bill.
  • Most breakdowns happen in summer: Heat waves push fridges, freezers, and AC units to their limits. A pre-summer check of coils and seals catches problems before technicians are booked out.
  • Dryer lint is a fire hazard: Lint buildup in the vent restricts airflow, slows drying, and is a leading cause of dryer fires. Cleaning the vent is one of the cheapest safety upgrades you can book.
  • A dishwasher is more water-efficient than hand washing: but only when it runs full, and the filter is clean. A clogged filter makes it work harder and clean worse.
  • Worn door seals waste energy silently: A fridge or freezer gasket that no longer seals lets cold air escape, so the compressor runs constantly. The dollar-bill test (close the door on a bill; if it slides out easily, the seal is worn) is a useful first check.
  • Repair is often smarter than replace: As a rule of thumb, if a repair costs less than half the price of a new appliance, and the unit is under about 10 years old — repairing is usually the better value. Get two or three opinions before a decision this large.

Your One-Stop for Appliance Service

Your refrigerator stopped cooling the day before a holiday dinner, the dryer quit mid-cycle, or the dishwasher has been leaking for a week — this page is your starting point. GigoPro's Appliance Repair hub brings together verified technicians and repair companies from cities across the United States in one place, so you can stop cold-calling and start comparing facts.

Every technician you find here lists what they actually work on: refrigerators and freezers, washers and dryers, dishwashers, ovens and ranges, microwaves, air conditioners, small appliances, and commercial kitchen equipment — including high-end brands like Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Miele. Each profile shows the services offered, the brands and models covered, the area served, recent customer reviews with ratings, and contact details. Shortlist three or four pros, request written estimates, and book the one that fits.

Quality on GigoPro is not self-declared. Before any business appears in search results, we moderate the profile: we check that the company is real, actively operating, and actually performs the repairs it claims — for refrigerant work we look for proper certification. Listings that stop being active are hidden automatically. That is what "verified near you" should mean.

Pick your city below to see local technicians, ratings, and current availability, or read on to understand the services, get a simple hiring checklist, and learn a few facts that will save you money on repairs.

Services You Can Find on GigoPro

Modern homes run on machines, and when one fails, it disrupts everything. The technicians in this directory cover every major household and commercial appliance—here is what each service involves and when you are likely to need it.

Refrigerator & Freezer

Cooling problems, unusual buzzing or clicking, water pooling under the unit, ice makers that stopped making ice, and worn door seals are the most common calls. Repairs range from cleaning condenser coils and replacing gaskets to fixing compressors, thermostats, and fans. If you own a high-end unit such as Sub-Zero, look for technicians who explicitly list luxury-brand experience - they know the parts and service procedures these units require.

Washer & Dryer

Washers fail with leaks, spin-cycle errors, no-start conditions, and drain problems; dryers fail with no heat, no tumble, and loud noises. A dryer that takes several cycles to dry often has a vent or lint issue: a real fire-safety concern that a technician can check and fix. Many companies also offer dryer vent cleaning as a standalone service.

Dishwasher

Dishes not coming out clean, water not draining, leaks around the door, and error codes are the usual complaints. Typical fixes include cleaning or replacing filters and spray arms, repairing drain pumps and hoses, and replacing door seals. A leaking dishwasher can damage flooring and cabinets, so prompt repair is worth prioritizing.

Oven, Range & Cooktop

Gas and electric units fail differently: igniters, heating elements, thermostats, and control boards are the common culprits. If your oven won't heat, heats unevenly, or the cooktop has a dead burner, a technician will diagnose the actual fault before quoting-so you don't pay to replace parts that still work.

Microwave

Microwaves that don't heat, spark, or have a broken turntable are usually repairable. Door switches, magnetrons, and control boards are the typical failures. Because microwaves store dangerous voltage even when unplugged, this repair is best left to a professional.

Small Appliances

Vacuum cleaners, coffee makers, blenders, toasters, and food processors are cheaper to fix than to replace when the problem is a simple motor, switch, or belt. Many technicians list small-appliance work alongside major appliances, which is convenient when several items need attention at once.

Commercial Appliance Service

Restaurant kitchens, laundromats, and office break rooms depend on equipment that cannot stay down. Commercial technicians service refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, and laundry machines built for heavy use, and many offer priority scheduling to minimize business downtime.

Installation & Replacement

Buying a new appliance is only half the job. Many companies on GigoPro install refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ranges — including connections, leveling, and haul-away of the old unit. Confirm installation is included in your quote before you book.

Maintenance & Tune-Ups

Preventative visits keep appliances running longer and catch small problems early: cleaning condenser coils, checking seals and hoses, testing thermostats, and clearing dryer vents. A little routine care is the cheapest repair you will ever book.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is GigoPro free to use?

Yes. Browsing businesses, reading reviews, and comparing technicians is free for everyone. Business owners can create a basic listing at no cost.

  • How do you verify appliance businesses on GigoPro?

Every profile goes through moderation before it appears in search. We check that the business is real, actively operating, and actually performs the repairs it claims. For refrigerant work, we look for proper certification, and we automatically hide inactive listings.

  • How do I choose the right technician?

Start with ratings and recent reviews, then confirm the company services your appliance type and brand. Contact two or three providers, ask for written estimates, and compare what each quote includes — not just the bottom line.

  • Can I list my business on GigoPro?

Yes. Create a free business profile to reach local customers searching for your category. You can update services, brands covered, photos, and contact details anytime, and customers can book you directly from your profile.

  • How often is the directory updated?

Business owners update their own profiles. Our team also refreshes hub pages and removes inactive listings to keep search results current.

  • Repair or replace, how do I decide?

Ask each technician for both a repair quote and an honest assessment of the appliance's remaining life. As a general rule, if the repair costs more than half the price of a new unit, or the appliance is past its expected lifespan and keeps breaking down, replacement is usually the better value. Get two or three opinions before a decision this large.

  • Do technicians use original (OEM) parts?

Many do, and it is worth asking before you book. Original parts are built to the manufacturer's spec and usually carry the appliance's warranty, while aftermarket parts are cheaper but may vary in quality. A reputable technician will explain the difference and let you choose.

  • Do you cover high-end brands like Sub-Zero, Wolf, or Miele?

Yes: many technicians on GigoPro specialize in luxury and commercial brands and list that experience in their profiles. High-end units need specific parts and service procedures, so look for technicians who explicitly cover your brand.

  • How much does appliance service cost?

Costs vary by appliance type, brand, and region — there is no honest single number. Reputable technicians provide written estimates after diagnosing the problem, and comparing two or three is the best way to understand what your repair should cost.

  • Can I leave a review after booking through GigoPro?

Yes. After your repair is done, you can rate the technician and describe your experience. Verified reviews from recent jobs help the next homeowners in your city choose well — and keep listed professionals at their best.

Appliance Repair feedback from Parkville residents

We contacted LG on Monday for what seems to be a common issue with their newer fridges. Heavenly Cool contacted us the very next day for service on Thursday. Our repairman (Mr. Francis) arrived with tools in hand and got right to work. After everything was completed, he explained the problem and that he had to replace the compressor. He seemed very knowledgeable, professional and experienced, based on his work and the brief conversation we had. It was literally like a breath of fresh air opening my refrigerator and feeling cool air again😎! I absolutely would recommend Heavenly Cool again!

Extremely displeased with the service. A tech was supposed to come out between 8-12, no one showed or called and when I called, no one answered until 4pm. I spoke with Karen (she was a real Karen) who claimed she was the manager, but was extremely rude, told me she was canceling the work order and told me I needed to call GE back and schedule with another company. She said to me “if you think we’re such a bad company, why are you still on the phone with me?” Wow. I went straight to write this review and was not shocked to find that they only have a 2-star rating. Keep up the good work Heavenly Cool.

If you’re in need of refrigerator or freezer repair, Heavenly Cooling is the one to call. Jessica and her team are very professional and they follow up when they say they’re going to. The technician that came out was prompt, very friendly and knew what he was doing to fix the issue. I would highly recommend giving them a call. 5 stars to the team at Heavenly Cooling!! Thank you so much!

The service repair gentleman, Lamont who was sent to repair our Samsome oven did an awesome job. He was very professional and knew exactly what was needed to fix the oven. Thank you Lamont! Our Thanksgiving dinner is now able to go on. Happy Holidays everyone. 😊

Everyone was caring and professional. Repair appointment was made quickly because they felt it was too hot to go without a refrigerator. I was really touched by their concern. The technician was thorough, professional and knowledgeable. I am very pleased with every aspect of the services heavenly cool provided.

Poor service. Spent a week to put in a order for a part that wasn’t in hand. Spent another week shipping the parts. The part, a simple filter, was on Amazon prime. Spent another week scheduling the installation. This company does not answer voicemail. I was forced to use them due to warranty contracts with LG. It’s been 3 weeks and my appliance is still broken. I will not buy from LG again. Avoid using this company at all costs. If LG schedules with this company, as for another service company.
