Hiring Tom Benjamin was the single-most important decision we made when redoing our home landscape. We had over 2.5 acres of beautiful land that had been over landscaped with foreign plantings. Tom's creativity and vision for can-be is awe-inspiring. He was incredibly dedicated to the indigenous plantings we wanted for our southern RI pond-front home. And he even gave us our desired small fruit tree orchard. His knowledge of botany and horticulture is vast and deep. He is an absolute delight with which to work. One of the best things we did for our new house is to ask for Tom's help in not only developing the landscape but also dealing with drainage/erosion problems. Tom's vision was exactly what we were looking for--he understood our interest in creating a more natural environment that prioritized native species and would create a bridge to the surrounding woods--areas he is extremely knowledgeable about. He fixed our drainage problem with an interesting solution that blended with the native landscape. Tom worked incredibly hard--often into the evening planting each tree and plant with care. And when he was very busy with bigger projects he never left us hanging or forgot about our project. When we first contacted Tom we thought we were just planting a low-maintenance, native lawn and have ended up with what will be an amazing landscape of native plants and flowers and trees that we will enjoy for the rest of our lives. He is brilliant and kind.

I wholeheartedly recommend Wellnesscapes Design! We had a soggy, unusable area of our backyard, which Tom has now turned into the best part of our yard with the awesome plantings and design he did for us. He was incredibly easy to work with and really pleasant and professional. We had never embarked on any project like this one before and were not sure what to expect, but everything was done timely and under budget!
