My elderly aunt and uncle had no heat. Even though I called late, and it was the night before Thanksgiving, Brian made the service call, worked through all the issues, tested the radiators, and made sure they were all set before leaving. I am really grateful for the help.

We had a great experience with them fixing our AC in the middle of the summer. They booked us for the following day, arrived a few minutes early (when does that ever happen), were professional and figured out the problem quickly. Our bill was less than I expected. I recommend them highly.

Great experience with design and installation of new HVAC system. The team did a very nice job with the installation, taking time to make things as discreet as possible. They promptly worked out a few kinks after the system was installed and I now have a central HVAC system that works better then I was expecting.

Needham Mechanical installed the HVAC system in our new house. We have radiant (floor) heat on the first floor and a mix of radiant and runtle units on the second floor. We have many zones and a heated loft above the garage. We also have AC everywhere. The system is really complex.

These guys did a great job. They're very bright, responsive and friendly and they take a lot of pride in their work. We've had a few minor glitches here and there but when we've called them in, they are out here quickly and get it working.

So I highly recommend these guys, they do really great, professional work.

Love this company...they were able to diagnose and fix the issue with my furnace that I had for over 5 years, ever since the installation ....four different heating and cooling companies including the manufactures of the unit could not find the problem. I was soooooo happy when they diagnosed it and fixed it. Very professional and the office staff has excellent customer service skills. I thank them at the start of every heating season.

Stay away!!!!!! I called Needham Mechanical to get an estimate on a broken central air system. The gentleman who came out (who, by the way, was very nice and professional) spent about 5 minutes looking at the unit and told me that it needed to be replaced. He said he'd put together an estimate for me. A couple of days later he sent me an estimate that was over $2,000.00 more than two other estimates that I had received. They now want me to pay $140 for the "service call." They're telling me that if I had asked for an "estimator" rather than a "technician" they would have given me an estimate for free. Keep in mind that neither of the other companies, who were asked to provide the same thing, charged me to bid on my job. Just Needham Mechanical.
P.S. I used Dipietro Heating & Cooling and could not have been happier. They came all the way from Haverhill and provided a "no charge" assessment and estimate. A few days later they replaced my system and it works great. 5 stars for Dipietro!!!!!!!

This is a business I wish I could give 10 stars to. In the height of coved-19 my sister, who is retired, called me to say the house was cold, the boiler and water heater were gone, and that according to a local guy it would cost almost $3000 to replace. I called Needham Mechanical, whose owner I want to be fair to disclose is a friend, and explained my sister’s plight. The next morning he was at her house, not his guy, but him, the owner, reviewed the estimate that the local guy had provided, and wrote it up for $1400, hoping to install it all one day. One day. Because they found asbestos, he had to have someone remediate it and that it would take two days. Perfectly reasonable, bundle up, right? No. He delivered two space heaters at no charge the next day! To top it off, after installing he delivered the MassSave $2000 rebates the next day, all filled out. God bless Neil, Courtney, and all the folks at Needham Mechanical and Energy.

Watch out when you hire Needham Mechanical because they have uncertified technicians installing heating and cooling units. When your unit breaks down and you are counting on the warranty to get it repaired or replaced, your warranty will not work because of the uncertified technician that installed it.

I even talked to the president Glen Gleason and he told me it is not his problem because his employee was doing the work on the side, even though it was his work truck that was used to deliver and install the unit, and his supplier that was used to purchase the unit.

Don't ever hire Needham Mechanical, you will be sorry.

Claim to service American Standard equipment but wouldn't come to our house to service it- in the same town! Called Obie Solutions, they were on site in a couple of days, found the problem and fixed on the spot. The Tech was the best I've seen. Showed my the pressure temperature data and electrical data from our cooling unit. Couldn't be happier with Obie. Now have long care contract with them. I'm glad Needham Mechanical turned me down.

Needham Mechanical Systems provides the most outstanding service. I am so grateful that we can call upon them and rely upon the skill and graciousness of everyone with whom we deal from the person who answers the phone to the service person who shows up at our front door.

With great appreciation for all of the people associated with Needham Mechanical Systems…

I found Needham Mechanical after my original plumber admitted my HVAC system needed an "expert" to fix it. Needham diagnosed and fixed the problem and even managed to file a warranty claim on my behalf. Very professional. Great people. I highly recommend them!

Our AC went out last night when it had been 90 degrees for days. I contacted Needham Energy first thing in the morning and a technician was able to show up 6 hours later and the AC was working in 30 minutes with a new capacitor. Such an incredibly responsive and easy repair! Thank you!

My first year owning my house. Of course the heat acts up and I get the the number of an HVAC company. The guy comes out, tells me it’s the boiler and I should get a plumber. I call a plumber and he comes and replaces a part that didn’t need replacing. The heat still wasn’t working.
I heard from a few people that Needham Mechanical was excellent.... I called and explained that my kids are doing school at home because of the pandemic and that I could really use their help.
Boom! They said we will come first thing tomorrow morning. The technician “Lucas” arrived promptly as promised. He looked at the system for a few minutes and said “I’ll be right back.”
Shortly he returns and tells me that an outdoor thermostat was the cause of the boiler not turning on. He replaced the thermostat in a matter of minutes, and the boiler and the heat came roaring on!
Needham Mechanical is my new HVAC Company! I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Look foward to future annual maintenance of my HVAC with Needham Mechanical and Lucas! Thank you!

We had a full house generator and new heating system installed by Needham Mechanical. The guys were all very professional and kept all of their work areas neat and clean. Every time we called the office for a question or change we appreciated all of the guidance. All in all a very positive experience and we will call Needham Mechanical should we need anything else.

Needham Mechanical Systems was extremely quick and efficient. Brian Fitzpatrick was the most knowledgeable, professional, and honest service technician I have ever had the privilege of working with. They have a life long client.

The defrost of the heat pump was malfunctioned. Scheduled a maintenance with the company. A guy came literally the last minute, checked the pump, spent less than 20 minutes looking around the pump, turned it off and on, made a call and left. A quick search on Youtube would tell you how to check if the board works, and the maintenance guy said he couldn't test. Then the company ordered a thermostat and a control board, without confirming whether it's the thermostat issue or the board issue. A week later, the same person came again and replaced both the thermostat and the board together. I got charged for twice the visit (which is understandable later through the manager's explanation), the thermostat and the board, but I still don't know what the exact problem was that caused the defrost problem. Did replacing both the thermostat and the control board solve the problem? Of course, but replacing everything related to the defrost function would solve the problem too. Did the board have to be replaced? Probably not if it's not the broken piece. When I called to ask questions about the service and the charge, the manager, self-identified as the vice president, was being rude, yelled at me, tried to outtalk me, left no room to discuss the bill and hung up abruptly. When half a year ago, I scheduled a HVAC cleaning service, the work was not done completely; the residuals near the bottom of the exterior were not cleaned. Overall, the maintenance people there only do the minimal level of work and the vice president treat customers badly. Don't recommend the company or their service.

-- update after the owner's response
The response avoided commenting the rude attitude issue from the VP. Although the technician got my "approval" to replace the board, I also requested to check if the board works, why didn't you listen? A very simple question, how are you sure the control board was broken. Very simple question. And you avoided to answer. And my "approval", or anyone else's, is really because you left the customers no other choice but to listen to your recommendation because otherwise we would be left in the cold winter without the HVAC working. A better service would be to do a thorough analysis and then fix the right issue. If your technician doesn't even know how to test the board that one can easily check on the internet, then your company is unqualified to deliver a good service, and so you are not being honest nor upfront.

-- another update after I located the issue almost 1.5 years later
Serendipitously, I found one important piece of information after I decided to test the defrost board and the thermostat myself. It turns out there is Goodman service bulletin that updates important service problems. I tested the defrost control board according to a YouTube video on a similar Goodman model and tested the thermostat by leaving it in the freezer for the circuit to close and testing for continuity. Both control board and the thermostat are perfectly fine. However, the original placement of the thermostat is not optimal according to the bulletin, possibly due to a design flaw. For the specific model of my Goodman heat pump, it's recommended to relocate the thermostat placement to achieve the better defrost performance. So I did, and it's been defrosting perfectly. The testing of the control board and the thermostat didn't take more than 20 minutes, and possibly even less for a well-trained professional. But the HVAC company simply concluded that they should replace both the board and the thermostat without proper tests. I am still curious to know whether the old control board and the old thermostat were also functional, but the technician took them with him. Customers are vulnerable in the cold winter when heating breaks down and are not typically equipped with the right knowledge and can only choose to trust the "professionals". But some professionals are not updating their knowledge, and the HVAC company is only angry when they don't collect bills rather than not delivering quality services.

Before all the craziness of covid-19 I got several quotes to replace duct work and 2 furnaces.
Needham Mechanical’s price was lower than we anticipated and the job was done quicker than I ever could have imagined! I spoke with Courtney multiple times, she really helped me understand what needed to be done and when it would all be completed. She went over our bill and all of our rebates with us as well! She was so professional and kind. The 3 workers that came to my house where such nice guys!! They were friendly, neat and worked hard! They showed up on time, worked a full day and completed my job in just 2 days! They even went the extra mile and checked the duct work I was not fixing and made sure all seals were tight. (Some were not) I highly recommend this company! If you’re on the fence give them a call and by the end of your call you will be sold! So glad I chose them!

We have always had the best experience with Needham Mechanical. Our heat broke on a Sun, they had someone at our door within an hour. A new motor (or something) needed to be ordered. Part was ordered on the spot, arrived the next morning and they were at my house installing it by 2:00. One of many great experiences we have had with this company.
