Don't buy ANYTHING from First Energy in Wakefield, MA !!

They don't keep their promises.

I bought three (3) complete Williamson oil boiler systems in 2011 fully installed from First Energy Heating and Cooling in Wakefield, MA for my 3-family where I live. I paid First Energy $42,000 to install them. (In 2011 they were called "Fireman's Fuel".)

When I bought the three furnaces they were very nice and said "We always stand behind what we sell."

Yesterday and today the third floor furnace stopped working again. The young tenants have three young girls under 10. Their furnace was providing cold water showers only, because the mixing valve needed to be repaired as soon as possible. The problem is urgent.

When I called First Energy tonight for repair service, the owner's wife refused to service what they sold me. She said "Nobody there has bought oil from First Energy since 2021." She said "You MUST buy oil from First Energy now and be a regular customer or we WILL NOT service any equipment that we installed." You're out of warranty, out of luck.

She said "What part of NO do you not understand. Call someone else."

I asked if they would sell me the parts so I could repack the mixing valve myself, she said "No. You must buy oil from First Energy or we will not sell you the parts."

Are my expectations out of line to expect urgent repair service from the furnace dealer and installer who sold me this expensive equipment?

NOT AT ALL.

Did they keep their promises made to me when they sold me the furnaces for $42,000+ ?

NO. NOT AT ALL.

Should I HAVE to buy oil from them?

NO. NOT AT ALL. They are a dealer and an equipment installer for major manufacturers.

I stated calmly on the phone tonight that I could report them to the Better Business Bureau and warn other people about their refusal to service the equipment they install. I was not rude but firmly stated facts.

The owner's wife got hysterical and started screaming at me. We could hear the owner (Billy) listening in the background. She screamed "Go ahead! Go to Twitter or Facebook or wherever you want!" And she kept getting louder, so my wife and I had to end the call.

So... with their permission to inform you about this situation, HERE I AM.

But wait... that is not the end of the story!

I then called my tenant with the small children to get the name of their oil company. I called their oil company and asked if they could repair it soon, they said "Sure, and by the way we won't force you or them into an oil contract." They said they knew First Energy well, and that First Energy overcharged me at least 50% for installing the furnaces.

Bottom line... Don't buy ANYTHING from First Energy. They don't keep their word. They overcharge. They use strong-arm tactics. They are rude and don't care about real customers in need.

I am keeping my word to warn potential customers... STAY AWAY FROM FIRST ENERGY!!

I've been an oil customer for years but just recently had to call them for emergency service when my oil tank started leaking.. within an hour of calling their service department was here and today (2 days later) my new oil tank is being installed! very satisfied. cannot operate vehicle properly

I recently had our hvac air ducts cleaned by Continental and was extremely happy with the service and prompt attention to my needs. Showed up on-time, done in a timely fashion and were very professional and courteous. Highly recommend.

Have been searching to get my vents cleaned at both my residential and commercial properties. I stumbled across Continental as they are family owned. 10/10 experience. Michael, the owner was quick to comfort my needs and sent out his guys right away. Very fair price and felt like I wasn’t just “another customer” you can tell Michael truly cares about his people. Will be using Continental in the future!

Contacted Continental Clean Air to clean my home dryer vent. Very responsive and easy to get a service appointment. Prompt arrival as scheduled. The technician was courteous and professional, and I was amazed by with all the dirt and debris they removed! Clothes are drying much better and would highly recommend!
