This is a good service. Straight shooters and helpful. Prices are a little high (every place is now) but you get a quality job.

I had them take care of my sewer 4xs. Very happy with the work plus I always learn more about how to keep things moving.

I lost my husband's ring down the sink drain (I thought). Ben came on time and declogged my sink and looked high and low for the ring. He found it in a crack below the sink and was able to retrieve it. Thank you so much you are my hero. Awesome service and well worth the price!

Called for a backed up main sewer line and was able to get a same day appointment. Dave from American Sewer took the time to get the job done right even working late into the evening to make sure the line was completely clear of tangled up tree roots. Friendly and professional staff with competitive no frills pricing.

These guys were quick to come out and clear our kitchen sink line. And boy did it take some effort as it probably was never cleaned before. Will use again for preventative root maintenance. Thanks Seth!

Fantastic service from start to finish. Very happy with Johnathan the owner and plumber John! Came out to our rental as soon as possible, fixed our clogged sewer and did not leave a mess. John even helped us solve a different plumbing issue and gave us tips on how to maintain our drain to help avoid any issues in the future. My experience with American Sewer was nothing short of amazing. In fixing a drain issue, our tech ran into some complications which resulted in what could have been potential water damage to my basement. American Sewer wasted no time in getting everything cleaned up and making everything right, and then set about finishing the original proposed repairs. Cannot recommend American Sewer enough!! They’ve rescued me more than once from a backed up basement drain - from their communication, and promptness, to their quality of work and extremely fair pricing, they’re the best in the twin cities to work with by far.

I found American Sewage through Groupon. We had a clogged shower drain.

I spoke with a guy named Seth, who was very helpful, and described our problem. He came out in early December and unclogged the bathroom drain. Then, even though they work mainly with clogged drains and sewage, he patched a leaking pipe under the kitchen sink.

Recently, the kitchen sink pipe began leaking again. I called to see about having them come back out and fix the issue.

Even though they don't primarily do plumbing work, the owner called me directly and discussed with me how to make things right. He came personally to do the repair again.

I am very impressed with the integrity and 'above-and-beyond' attitude that Jonathan (owner) and the folks at American Sewage exhibited to help us resolve our issue.

I highly recommend them for all drain clogs and sewage services!

These guys did a GREAT job unclogging drains and cleaning up an UNBELIEVABLE mess created by a tenant (nothing like it has ever been seen before!). The tech was highly skilled, conscientious, prompt, and BRAVE!. The company was reasonable and honest regarding their charges. I have used them for years cleaning mainlines and now cannot imagine using anyone else.

After 25 years of basement flooding issues and having several companies over I believe we have finally found the winners. David was the first person ever to get down on his hands and knees and literally dig into our old well area drain line connection and clear it and all of our lines all the way to the outside of the house. He also explained we had a "Y" connection under the main floor and not just a single line, and cleared both lines. Nobody had ever figured that out before, and most companies said we had to have the floor dug up costing thousands. He also fixed a stubborn upstairs bathroom sink line clog even though I only brought it up as an afterthought. They do not normally work on sump pump discharge line issues, as it is not their business focus, but I was desperate since the discharge pipe had broken inside the wall near the area where it exits the house. He replaced the pipe, joined it at the corner under the floor, and managed to do it all behind finished walls only leaving a small rectangle of wall section cut that we can easily pop back in that is almost invisible. They were very busy, but he stayed until 5:00 on a Friday holiday weekend until he had everything done. The day before he left his own pump for me to use overnight to pump the sump pit. I was afraid I was in for a long weekend of cleaning up the basement floor with storms coming and with a clogged drain and no sump pump, but they resolved both issues and at a very reasonable cost. I will never call any other company again for drain services.

I had a 3 foot drain under my sidewalk that was clogged with mud that I couldn't get to. I called American Sewer and he told me it was going to be more expensive as he would have to use a "special tool". It turned out that special tool was a power washer. The job took all of ten minutes and the technician told me, "You know, you could have just done this yourself if you just had a power washer. All you'd have needed is this attachment for the hose." Thanks, guy. The technician then charged me $515. And all this after he was several hours late without even calling us.

After I posted the above review, the owner called me. He was upset but he made a good point about how I should have called before posting a negative review. Fair enough. So I deleted the review.

Then I called him and it went badly. He brought up how he knew they'd been late but, "they'd been so busy lately." That seemed pretty flippant, considering they didn't even call, but I ignored it and tried to tell him that I felt that he'd led me on by making it sound like the job was going to be harder than it was and require a special tool when in reality it was just a power washer. He brushed that off because it had a different attachment on the end on it. I told him that doesn't seem like it should raise the price that much. I could buy 3 power washer for that price.

This is where things really went off the rails. He then began claiming that they'd scoped the drain and the corrugated pipe was cracked. I told him they couldn't have scoped it because it was 100% clogged from end up end and I was also standing right next to the guy when he did the job. I also pointed out my drain isn't corrugated pipe, nor is it cracked.

I think he realized he'd made a mistake now so he said he'd refund me $100. I told him not to worry about it. He then said he didn't want me to have a bad impression of his company and that he's going to do it anyway, which was big of him. He then immediately undermined this goodwill by saying he didn't think he should even have to refund it and they'd done nothing wrong. I'm not sure why he had to say that but I guess he just one of those guys that has to have the last word. I said maybe we should call it a day and he sarcastically said that sounds like a great idea.

Rob did a great job with a tough sewer job. At one point he said that "it was the most difficult one he'd ever had to do." Even with that the price was as agreed upon before the job began. I was even very impressed with the receptionist - she took the time to answer all of my questions over multiple phone calls. I would definitely call American Sewer for my next plumbing job.

This company has integrity and came a day earlier than they had committed to. The plumber gave us advice how to keep the drains/pipes from getting clogged again. Very friendly, respectful and had patience to answer our many questions. The 18 year old son who is in training was very professional and polite and eager to serve us.

I have used American Sewer 3 times now for snaking 3 different drains at my property and I will continue to use them. They are prompt, accurate, friendly, and get the job done the first time. I am very pleased with their services and I highly recommend.

What's the point of a 3 hour service windown if you're still not there a half hour after the service window ended

Edit: this review was left before the service was done. When the tech arrived he told me he knew about my 1 star review and said I was lucky he even came after leaving a review. Showed up 45 minutes after the service window and said i was lucky he came at all. Very unprofessional.

Last edit: owner called and apologized for the service techs actions. Other than showing up late the service was done well and quickly and the plugged drain now works.
