Update: due to the continued serious electrical problems, we called Bates to explain what was going on and asked for a refund. They were quick to accommodate. Their customer service was pleasant to work with.
Had an issue with our fridge causing an arc when the braided metal water line touched the back of it. Ian came in, didn’t really answer any of my questions, said he “had no idea” why it was arcing, and didn’t test any of the other things I asked him about to see what the issue was. Said the water line was grounded (it isn’t), and suggested we get a non metal water line for the fridge. We did that, and we’re continuing to have electrical issues in the kitchen.
