Everything you would expect from a HomeDepot and more - more as in pretty good and helpful service and knowledgeable staff. They offer classes on home-improvement stuff that was quite useful for the basics. The plant/outdoor section is not enormous but they have a pretty good selection and good sales through-out - especially at the end of the season.

We bought a door at this location and worked with Elijah. He was extremely responsive and helped us assess our options for a door that had unusual measurements. We highly recommend him.

Giant selection in massive greenhouses for annual and perennial plants and hanging baskets. Quart and flat sizes, organized nicely, carefully tended and frequently cleaned displays and aisles. Nice carts, wide aisles. Easy access and parking, good checkout.

The staff here are super helpful and very friendly. They have a large variety of plants that are reasonably priced. If you're in the Columbus area looking for plants, this is a great place to stop. I'm very happy with the houseplants I purchased here 🌿

Beautiful flowers, but I have had several experiences with many of the staff being very rude. (There are also some nice people who work there of course.) But after this last experience of rude behavior I won’t shop there again. I understand that when things get busy, people can have less patience, but some of my interactions have bordered on mean spiritedness. Unfortunately that isn’t worth putting yourself through no matter how pretty your garden could be. (Also poorly run in my opinion—lines way too long when there is staff that could help.)

Shopped the Riverside Road location a few days before Memorial Day and store was well stocked with inventory in all departments. I like the large aisles big enough for carts to pass and the signage in the store is very good. Tables well marked for type of plant, sun/shade, annual/perennial, etc. Easy to spend too much time and money there.

I'm extremely dissatisfied with the level of service I received today at Strader's. I placed my order over the phone, and informed the lady I was talking to that this was my first foray into gardening and that I needed a bit of guidance. I told her how many of each plant that I was interested in. When I got there for pickup they loaded it into the back of my car and gave me a total which I remarked that it seemed more expensive than expected. To which she responded: "Well you got a lot of stuff". I assumed their prices were just higher than I expected and I didn't go through the vegetables at the store as I should have. When I got home I started unloading it and realized that they had WAY oversold me on vegetables. For instance when I said I needed 9 bush bean plants. The lady charged me for 9 containers, each containing 3 plants each. So Rather than 9 plants, I was sold 27 plants. This happened for all 9 of the types of vegetables I ordered that included more than 1 per container. I immediately called to get this corrected and I was told that there are no returns at this time. This information was not listed on their website and is different than the normal return policy. See attached picture.

The lady who I was speaking with on the phone was clearly getting snippy with me and hung up on me when I was trying to inform her that their website needed updated with the new return policy. I don't understand why she's frustrated. I'm the one taking a loss here over a clear misunderstanding on both of our part. I didn't tell her how many containers I needed. I told her how many individual plants I needed.

So now I have 3 times the number of vegetables I need with nowhere to plant them. And I have no way to get my wasted money back. During these hard times, I'd expect a higher level of service from a local company.

Buyers Beware! Know exactly what you're buying or they may take advantage of you.

    Nice selection.
However, I had a very poor customer service experience. The cashier started checking out my items, and one of the plants didn't have a price. So she radioed someone, who said they were busy and instead of finding it herself she walked off and helped another customer wrap up their plants, leaving me standing there for 10 minutes. I asked a passing employee if he could help me, he said "not my department, this place has gone to hell in a hand basket." ...I would find somewhere else to go.

I went to look for a certain hanging flower basket they didn’t have it exactly but Dory helped me find what I was looking for!!!! I am not sure if I spelled the name right but that should be close. I came from Groveport area and will take the drive there.

Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. They are helpful when you aren't sure exactly what you need. We left with the perfect shrubs for our location along with the instructions needed to plant them correctly. You will never get this level of service from the big box hardware store

Great place! Almost DANGEROUS for a plant hoarder like me! Ha! Will be back. Staff is very nice and happy to help.

Absolutely the worst customer experience ever. Don’t waste your money or your time they’ll just take it. I gave them a $50 bill and asked for the rest to go on my card. They fully charged my card and still took the $50 bill and when I realized it and went back in, they tried to refuse to give me my money back. Someone who spends a lot of money on plants never again will I go back. I don’t recommend unless you’re interested in them taking all of your money

They have a nice selection of plants but that’s about all they have going for them. Prices are high and customer service is abysmal. Both recent visits have left me shaking my head at the way employees routinely treat customers. Cashiers and even staff walking around seem annoyed, unfriendly, and mean. Save yourself the headache of having to deal with terrible customer service and find a different greenhouse to visit. I will not be back.

**After looking through the other reviews it seems that nasty and rude staff is a problem Strader’s has had for YEARS now. Way to read customer feedback and fix problems. Owners and management should be ashamed.**

They have a decent stock, if expensive comparatively. The employees tend to be super rude and seem to hate their jobs. Straw is an absurd price and they don't really stock native plants. We'll drive the extra 30 minutes to a place that at least feels like it has a soul.

You have the nicest plants and usually nicest staff. Went to buy plants today. But the sales person didn't have time for a question? One minute of random kindness can make your Day. One minute of rudeness can ruin your day. Don't know when or if I will be back. Update ----! I have been back since then I went to find they still have the nicest plants! So no worries somebody just had a bad day it was a good day when I was back there!

Much larger than most of the common nurseries in or near Columbus. Comparable to Oakland Nursery. I don't think there's any other nearby that is on this on this scale. They have a massive selection of plants for every occasion, season, and preference. They likely have the supplies that most people are shopping for. I wouldn't say they have any area they 100% completely specialize in. There may be something in some micro sub category you can't find here. But overall its probably safe to assume in most cases that all your plant& garden needs are right here. I DO WISH there was better fragrant rose bush options, and orchids that are less common. I enjoy just strolling through a nursery in summertime. I gave 4 stars for a few reasons. While I do realize we're nearing mid season and many things aren't flying off the shelf as they are early on, I wish ALL nurseries did better with marking down plants that have outgrown their seedling container, looking quite weathered or tired. Otherwise I feel like if they still want people to $4+ they need to maintain the plant better. Regular price is fine for all the newer, young plants. Its deff not fine expecting $4.99 for these tired, cracked soil, dead leaves, straggly growth, and slightly neglected plants that staff has lost interest in watering... Straders, Im looking at you... 😜

I saw their garden center while I going to another place last week and got excited, to say the least. So when I finished my other stop, I went back to check out all the wonderful plants. When I was checking out, the lady wasn't very nice. Not wanting to be bothered, look on her face. Don't know that I'll return. Was my first time there.

Staff are always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. TONS of selection and a great vibe inside and out. Prices are reasonable and you can find some rarer plants here if you know what you're looking for. Also pet friendly so bring your (well-behaved and leashed) fur babies! There is at least one cat living in the shop so please keep that in mind if bringing a pet who is cat-reactive :)

Came in because they had a maple sapling sale advertised on their sign. I spoke with 4 employees who all shoved me off and ignored me. it got to the point where the cashier was standing and staring at me like I was stupid for asking for help for buying something they have advertised
