Very professional team, work well within timelines and very responsive & receptive to updates.

The worst mistake we made in our home renovation was hiring Scalish. They took shortcuts, didn't communicate effectively, gave poor results and went significantly over budget and over the time frame. Just don't do it.

Very nice apartments. Quality places. Someone I know applied, made more than enough income that was basically double the rent. They were just told they couldn’t live there or be given a lease to the apartment. Maybe because they were um? Probably? Black? I’ve never witnessed someone not being rented to because of the area or how nice a place was. This is a first for me. Their in so much shock. Unbelievable.

Scalish Construction is a reputable company that we are proud to do work with. They can be counted on to be on time, and everything they do is of high quality.

There’s nothing worse than being judged by someone, and I had an awful experience with this company. I inquired about building something between 3000-4000 sqft, which is in line with their portfolio online, and I was treated so bad that I wanted to hang up the call. Ultimately they said it was too small of a job, and treated me as if I couldn’t afford it. Their loss, I am closing with another builder, and I’ll never recommend this place to anyone

Everything I could tell you about Scalish Construction is excellent. Great result. Great team to work with. Top quality all the way.

Scalish Construction is a very professional and family owned business. They do great work and have experience with historic preservation. I know the owners personally and they are very nice and care about the work that is done by their contractors.

I've had the pleasure of working with Scalish on several projects over the years and would recommend without hesitation. From ownership to staff, all are top notch people, very responsive, and professional. To top it off, the work is quality and product is great. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work with them again!

Scalish Construction did a fantastic job on the recent renovation to our kitchen and the entire first floor. They are everything you hope and pray for when looking for a team to manage your project, including 1) They were honest from the beginning about the length of time it would take to complete, and they met their deadlines. In our case they gave a time range and finished in the shortest time. 2) They are great communicators and responded quickly to each of our unusual situations. (our water heater died mid-project and was replaced THAT DAY) 3) We threw them a couple of curveballs and they totally helped us out each time, in some cases requiring added work, and still finished on time. 4) And finally, the subs they brought in were talented, professional, polite, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. They were so respectful of our space. What a standout company!

I trusted Scalish Construction for a complete gutting and renovation of my business office (healthcare industry). My project manager was terrific and I found everyone to be trustworthy as if they were working on their own home. Construction moved along efficiently and communication was great at every step. The result was a perfect realization of the vision that I had when it all started. I will definitely use them again in the future.

I was looking for quotes for a build out at my business and came across Scalish Construction. Being someone who is unfamiliar with the ins and outs of construction I was happy to have the Scalish construction group to walk me through the process. Not only did they respond with a quote right away, they helped guide me in a direction towards small business enhancement programs to help with the funding. Speaking with Contractors can difficult, but while communicating with Frank he was able to explain everything in detail, step by step, and with a detailed financial break down. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Hiring a general contractor is an important decision and one that shouldn't be rushed, or taken lightly. I hired Sclaish in the middle of the pandemic, construction delays and high costs were everywhere during this period, and sadly my project wasn't any different but Scalish updated me in a timely professional manner, was easy to communicate with and upheld their contractual obligations throughout the contract and warranty period. I would give Scalish a call if you are looking for a general contractor.

We chose Scalish as the contractor for our forever home after seeing their signs and trucks doing work in the neighborhood. Once we met with the owner, Frank, and started working with his team we immediately knew we had made the right decision. Some of the main reasons we enjoyed our experience were cost transparency, frequent communication, quality of craftsmanship and flexibility. If you're shopping around for a general contractor we would recommend discussing your vision with Frank and team and giving them a chance to win your business.

Our experience with Scalish Construction was the closest thing to a nightmare I have seen in construction. Their claims of specializing in historic restoration are a joke. As owners of a beautiful century home we expected and were promised, by the Scalish team, quality work to be performed in a professional manner on our home. The work was performed in a haphazard manner often requiring correction. I would advise anyone reading reviews to pay close attention to the author of the review and consider giving more weight to reviews from actual home owners.

The Scalish team was nice, professional, and did good quality work. Our remodel had four adults involved, and an elevator installation was part of the job, so it was probably a tough one. Through ups and downs the team listened and acted quickly - we’re very happy with the end result.

We hired Scalish Construction to convert an old historical church into a gym space, and I couldn’t be more impressed with their work! From start to finish, the team was professional, communicative, and exceptionally skilled. They paid attention to every detail, ensuring the layout, design, and functionality of the space far exceeded our expectations. The transformation was nothing short of incredible—it completely blew me away! I highly recommend Scalish Construction to anyone looking to transform their space, especially if you're working with a historical landmark. Their craftsmanship and commitment to quality are truly unmatched!

I run a boutique architecture firm in Cleveland, OH, called Architecture Office. I’ve worked with Scalish Construction on a number of projects and have been very satisfied with their work. They are not your most economical contractor but it has been my experience that they are priced fairly and on par with other firms their size. They specialize in highly sensitive projects that require attention to detail, ranging from historic to contemporary. Their historic work is great. My firm specializes in contemporary architecture and they understand the goals of the project and bring exceptional craft through their network of subcontractors.

We worked on the BoxSpot project together, a retail development composed of shipping containers. This was the first project of it’s kind in the Midwest. Despite a steep learning curve, they executed our vision with a level of craft that we were very happy with. Evidence of this is the slew of awards that followed, including, NAIOP’s (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) award for “Most Innovative Project of the Year, 2019, “Best Retail Project of the Year”, 2019 and AIA Cleveland’s highest award, an “Honor” award for excellence in design. While all good projects require a good client, architect and contractor in order to be successful, I credit Scalish Construction for their ability to respond to complex detailing with an innovative approach, resolving many unusual complexities of prefabrication and material methods in concert with a tight construction budget.

We’ve worked on several other projects together, including a historic façade in Lakewood called The Veronika. Once again, this project received accolades and stood out in 2018 as Storefront Renovation of the Year by the Cleveland Restoration Society. This project sought and received historic tax credits and was the first project to do so in Lakewood, OH.

It’s been a pleasure knowing Frank, partnering with Scalish Construction and working with members of his knowledgeable team over the years. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate on projects in years to come. I would recommend Scalish Construction on any job but especially for those that come with complex challenges and a sensitivity to the details.
