My Mom needed her chimney repaired and I don’t live near her. Pete was responsive to our needs and quickly/efficiently performed an outstanding job for us. His work was on-time, on-budget and as-promised. Highly recommend BVC.

I called Black Velvet to set up an appointment to have my chimney inspected and swept. When I called , I talked to Tiffney. She was very nice, informative, and pleasant to talk to. She answered all my questions, and took the time to explain to me what was going to happen. She is VERY knowledgable and informed. AND she gave a firm price. (Which was a good price and a pleasant surprise...I expected it to be more expensive )
When Pete arrived at my house, once again, he was very friendly, engaging and pleasant. He did a very thorough job. When he was inspecting my fireplace/chimney, he took the time to explain everything and ensure I understood what he was talking about. When he was through with the job, he made sure that there wasn't a speck of dirt where he had been working.
It was such a breath of fresh air to discover these guys.

We had a chimney fire back last winter. Needed to find someone to look at it. Saw one of the Black Velvet Chimney trucks while driving down the highway. Jotted the number down and gave them a call. Pete came out and cleaned and inspected the chimney with the camera. Showed us the damage and explained everything and went over all our options. We decided to have a stove insert installed. Discussed the different stoves and chose one to fit our needs. Very courteous, no pressure. He was prompt, neat and tidy in his work and the cost was very reasonable. I am a professional engineer. I hired Black Velvet to do a comprehensive check of a chimney flue. They were extremely knowledgeable. The price was very reasonable. They provided factual and accurate information. Other “chimney” professionals had tried to scam a customer.

I reached out to this company requesting information on chimney cleaning and i let them know i have never used a service before. I read the reviews and kept seeing good positive reviews. Most people mentioned how they were very knowledgeable and reasonable prices. Black velvet was quick to respond to my email and it explained there process of cleaning chimney, I was told it was going to be $300 and i scheduled appointment. When they came out yesterday they were late, did sound like they were very knowledgeable, we mentioned that we were interested in getting a different chimney put it. The rest of the appointment then concentrated on talking about that and all that was done to current chimney was look inside chimney from inside house using a flashlight from cellphone and go up on roof and took pictures with cell phone of the chimney boards. The price of new chimney was a lot more than we were thinking so we said we would think about it... we still got charged the $300... The chimney they were talking about puting in was researched on my personal computer. After they left we looked at the website again which had the starting pricing for the chimneys.. was a huge difference. Black Velvet guys are wanting to charge us $6500 with labor cost included. When we reached out to the actual people who sale the chimney they quoted us for the purchase plus install and it was A LOT less. Not sure why the huge price difference but i don't think i will be calling them back.

We remodeled an ‘82 home. Thought the fireplace was fine. Called Pete for an inspection and found out it was not safe. He put in a new fireplace in 3 days. My husband and I are thrilled!! They don’t make ‘um like Pete anymore 😁

Black Velvet Chimney replaced our fireplace insert from top to bottom. They did a great job. I will definitely use them again. They were very efficient and friendly.

Our fire insert was installed in a rush and left wobbly and slightly tilted. The door swings open on its own with some force. We also paid for a critter guard on their recommendation. When they came to install it all they couldn't get it to fit the chimney and then decided it didnt need one as they did not want to have to go and get the correct one. Corner cutting. Unprofessional.

Surprisingly, very few companies do what I needed, replacing the covering on my chimney that woodpeckers had destroyed! I’m grateful I found this company and very pleased with the job they did. Making arrangements for the repair was simple, the crew arrived on time, got the repairs done quickly and cleaned up the job site. I can highly recommend this company.

Pete is very punctual and responds very quickly. His crew installed a beautiful fireplace in 2021. It is so much cleaner and gives us enough heat for the house especially when we lose power. Highly recommended Pete because of his knowledge and experience!

We have used Black Velvet for the better part of the past 10 years. At our previous home, they performed the annual cleaning of the chimney flue and dryer vent as well as preparing our insert fireplace for wood burning vs gas logs. The take great care to do the job right, always on time, and for us a reasonable price for exceptional service.

But where they truly shined was the work they just completed at our new home. We had an old gas fireplace removed and a new wood burning fireplace installed. I made the mistake of using our general contractor for the work. Recognizing the work had some issues, I called Black Velvet to come take a look. Glad we did as the work was not to code or spec and could have resulted in a fire that would have destroyed our home.

Black Velvet offered several solutions to remedy the poor work of the other contractor and provide us with a safe, operable fireplace. We ultimately decided on removing the "old" fireplace and replace with a new woodburning stove, new flue, and repair to the stone work around the fireplace.

The work was priced fair and completed in a timely manner. We could not be more please with our new Flame Monaco XL wood stove. We HIGHLY recommend Black Velvet for their work on this project, their professionalism and they great service over the years.

Pete did a great job on replacing the top on our chimney. He was very knowledgeable, professional and respectful of our property. I absolutely recommend Black Velvet Chimney and Pete for all your fireplace needs.
