1 star, do not build with Salt City Construction. They do not communicate, they point fingers and are unprofessional.

Giving 1 star because 0 is not an option!!! Horrible customer service, very dishonest company. They take every short cut they can when building your home. They refuse to take responsibility for problems and will not fix anything. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Travis is amazing to work with, great customer service skills and is always willing to help you out. Construction is high quality. I would recommend them to anyone.

Wonderful company they take commitment and the desire to construct homes seriously. As a person who has been involved in alot of construction with alot of different companies this one has proven their quality workmanship time and time again. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to be extremely satisfied with a complete project.

Buyers beware. Do not build with Salt City Construction. Trust the google reviews. I have been in my home now for 4 months and am still working on fixes that were promised prior to close.

My home was not built by salt city but by it's sister company. It took along time for our neighborhood to get Compass point out but after seeing the terrible job salt city is doing now and how much worse the homes are then my own, makes me very distapointed in the integrity and lack of craftmaship they have. Companies like this and Compass Point make me ill.

Salt city uses the same contractors as Compass Pointe.

Our experience with this company has been nothing short of a total disappointment. They wasted almost a year of our time. In the many years of business, purchasing and selling real estate we have never experienced such incompetents and total lack of anything that resembled professionalism. This company was the worst! Completely lacking in integrity wasting huge amounts of our time and money, breaching our real estate contract to name a few! Beware of doing business with them, they are crooks! If I could give them zero stars I would!

Love my Beautiful Townhome! Thank you Salt City Construction!
I love the floor plan it is so roomy and for this price I couldn't be more pleased. I can still finish the basement and add another bedroom and family area easily. I love the flooring and quartz countertops. They are so well designed and beautiful. The master is spacious with a walk in closet. I absolutely love it!!!

I was building with Salt City out in Anderson Ranch in Grantsville Utah, I made my deposit had my plans all picked out and was just 2 weeks away from the completion of my house. I got a call from the agent in Anderson Ranch claiming the cost of supplies had gone up significantly and the builders forgot about some front yard work that needed to be done. The total cost went up 21k which the builders said they would cover 8k cause they should've known of the work needing done in the front yard. That left me with another 13k on top of the price of my home with 2 weeks left in the build that was a total shock and something that would've cut into my daily expenses and not planned for. I talked to them for 3 day's trying to figure everything out cause due to this I'd have to bring more to my closing costs.
I also went with their preferred lender in which we discussed where my payments would be and I agreed upon this before building my home, the problem was they didn't send me the documents of the numbers we discussed. When it came time to do the financing we were way above where I needed the numbers to be and told them this isn't what we discussed. They asked me to find the documents, which I couldn't cause I was never sent any. Even the builders were surprised by this although they weren't willing to budge at all on costs either.
All the builders kept telling me was, do you know how much houses are going for up here compared to what you built yours for! Also the preferred lender wanted me to pull out my entire 401k and savings to get the house price and payment down further. They definitely don't look after your well being and try to trap you in a corner. I should've known cause as I was waiting for my house to be built I was offered 2 houses others had backed out of last minute and they were way out of my price range and they just told me to get roommates.
I ended up talking to another builder whos said he gives monthly updates and what they were doing was wrong cause they know what they can get out of the house. I talked to a friend who was a general contractor and he also said they were backing me into a corner cause if costs of supplies went down they wouldn't reimburse me.
I ended up backing out of the dream house I had planned on moving into after more than 6 months of waiting. I'm sure they sold it for what they wanted out of it cause everyone is all about doing what it takes to make an extra buck. While I lost out on thousands cause they kept all of my deposit due to the contract stating they can up the price for supply costs. Do not be someone that gets into this situation. I hope I can help people research and do what's best for them.

If you ever needed to follow the old adage "caveat emptor", you should do so with Salt City Construction. The owners lack the ability to manage the construction of their products. When they make mistakes they are just followed up by excuses, rather than professional solutions. It would go a long way with your customers if they would own up to mistakes and make efforts to correct them. Sometimes the hard decision is the right one.

Don’t let the response to this review take away from the fact that I am a customer and that I’ve contacted you multiple times to address issues. Your silence is the loudest I’ve ever heard.

Update: Years later still having issues. A/C units are tipping over because of poor grading (my neighbor also had the same issue). Also getting water in the cold storage because they graded the front porch into the house. All examples of the CAVEAT EMPTOR you should follow with this builder.

We bought our house and moved in at the end of June 2019. Since then we have found multiple issues and after taking with many (over 25 people) throughout our neighborhood, they have had issues as well that the builder has not responded to or has said “never promised fixing”. Legal action is being taken by many and even people who have worked with the builder have stated he’s a crook. Buyer beware. If you do buy, make sure you do an in depth walk through. Don’t purchase a home in Grantsville unless you want issues that will not be resolved. Shame on you Salt City!

We have been in our home since the middle of Dec 2017. This is the 3rd home that we have built. First time with Salt City Construction. Regarding problems with our new home...of course there were hiccups! With any build, with any contractor, even million dollar homes, there are going to be issues. The first two builds had their nightmarish hiccups and those builders would never meet with us or fix anything. We would told both times "you get want you pay for" and "you have to decide if ypu really wanted the house, or move on" They would find other buyers. Sure it took way too long to get into our home, 8 months. But we love our home, love, love, love the floor plan. We can say everything came together after Anthony was hired!! We have had everyone of our issues resolved! And we now are here to stay. The quality of our home is exactly what we would expect for the price we paid. I love the fact I could make all the changes and up grades I wanted and Salt City complied! Happy are we!!!

I have been in my home for 3 years. We moved in and all our exterior doors sagged and had gaps to let air in and out of the house none of the doors had the hardware plates on them after months of calling. I finally fixed them myself. One of the bedroom windows had a cracked frame and leaked water into the house through it. It took over 2 years to get them to get me a new window for that bedroom. Oh that isn't installed thats just ordered and delivered. I had to finally pay someone to install the window.
I would never build with them again. They don't answer calls or emails.
The only time I was pleased was when I contacted the plumbers and electricians myself and they came right over and fixed the issues.

So far I have not seen any ounce of wanting to make things right from Salt City. We moved into our new home at the end of June 2019 and since July 7th we have been waiting for someone to do the repairs/fixes on our home that should have been checked for before being sold. We luckily don’t have as severe problems as many of our neighbors. Don’t buy from these guys if you want quality work and professional work.

Working with Salt City Construction has been an absolute pleasure! I have built with other home companies before, and I have had some fairly terrible experiences. This is absolutely not the case with Salt City. Dave Munford and his entire team have been so helpful throughout the whole building process! They worked with myself and my wife to perfectly customize our home the way we wanted it. They specifically worked with us to achieve our goals not only financially, but with every upgrade or change to their customizable home plans. We met every goal we set and then some. Dave and his team really take the time to find out what specifically you are looking for in a home, and they will do anything they can to make that achievable! They even helped us in the process of selling our then current home. I would highly recommend Salt City Construction, and the Munford team. They were by far and above the best builders in the state of Utah! The team made our transition to a new build home smooth and successful! I would give them a 10 out of 5 Stars if available.

We signed a contract with Salt City and the Munford team, and after much dishonesty, terrible customer service, not answering questions about our construction code concerns that other clients had brought up, charging different amounts of money for the same upgrades for different people, and other issues, we got an attorney involved and successfully pulled out of our contract getting a full refund. I would strongly advise you choose a different company to build your home that has a stronger sense of integrity, and builds quality homes. It's worth it for an investment this size.
