Kilo Hollow Energy did our solar and battery project in Maryland and we had a great experience!

They took the time to design the system around our house instead of forcing a standard setup. One thing that really stood out was how nice the electrical work was. For us, they color matched the exterior conduit to the house, which most companies wouldn’t bother with or offer, and it made a big difference visually.

Everything feels solid and well done, especially the electrical work. Communication was straightforward and they kept us in the loop the whole time by text or emails.

System has been running great and the battery backup gives us real peace of mind.

Overall, just a high-quality, detail-oriented company. Would definitely recommend!!

The owner answered my questions about solar very promptly and knowledgeably. Some other solar companies tried to dive right into a sales pitch, but he ensured that my situation was right for solar before recommending anything.

Ended up with a backup battery system instead of a full blown solar install because of some shading issues. Didn't waste any of my time or money on things that I didn't need. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Our solar installation project was essentially 3 major projects combined. 1) The ground array design, location, and installation. 2) The design and installation of the power conduit avoiding septic, satellite, and tv cable of almost 250 feet of trenching, and 3) the design and layout of our solar utility room which was no more than a 6ft. x 6ft. corner of our basement. It took some time to successfully accomplish all of these projects, but the Kilo Hollow team were very responsive and timely in spite of the obvious challenges. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in residential solar. Our project was the Toano installation as seen on their project pages.

After Tesla shafted me and canceled my contract/project to install a 2nd Powewall + (due to their 14,000 employee layoff), I contacted Will at Kilo Hollow Energy. He was sympathetic to my situation, and we discussed the possibilities of his company picking up the project. We came up with a plan and within 30 days, Will and Kilo Hollow Energy had my 2nd Powerwall + installed, and up and running. Two years before we moved to Virginia we started looking into solar, without any real prior knowledge. William Branch, President of Kilo Hollow Energy always responded to our calls, answering all questions, assuring our understanding, and readily inviting us to call back with any further questions. Of the three companies we looked into, Kilo Hollow was the only one able to discuss both solar arrays and battery storage as one integrated system, with knowledge and confidence. Installation went without a hitch, and all of the team were pleasant to deal with, and efficient in their tasks. From the lead installer Alan, to Rich and Richard the electricians, the system went up without issue. David Branch, William’s dad, coordinated the project, keeping the workers, suppliers, and timetable on target. Their installation was top-notch. They treated every panel placement with care, ensuring everything was aligned, secure, and aesthetically pleasing. Included residential installation of one (1) Tesla Powerwall 3, one (1) Tesla Backup Gateway 3, and one (1) Tesla Wall Connector. Scope of work included all related electrical labor, system configuration, commissioning, and permitting.
Kilo Hollow Energy worked through many challenges during this installation including scheduling, materials, personnel resourcing, final testing and verification. Through it all, Lucas personally held it all together and ensured that everything got done professionally and completely. He regularly went above and beyond what most contractors would ever consider and made sure we were informed and happy. I would wholeheartedly endorse any work Kilo Hollow Energy does that Lucas is executing. He routinely worked late and would not cut corners, even when it was in his interest to do so. Lucas is always reliable, always maintains the highest standards, and always ensures customer satisfaction.

Had a level 2 ev charging station installed. Great pricing, great staff, and Lee was very professional and knowledgeable in his work. Excellent work!

Ultimately this is on me for not doing enough research and getting a second opinion from someone on-site but I paid a lot more than I should have. Pole Green Services was referred by Dominion Energy Solutions to install an EV charger which was supplied by me. In fact, everything except a few feet of wire and a 240v plug was provided by me (charger, mounting lockbox and an existing 50A breaker already installed in the panel). I asked for an itemized bill to help me justify the cost since it only took 2.5 hours to complete the job but could not get one. Martine did confirm that they included a fee paid to Dominion Energy Solutions, a $99 upcharge to fill out the permit online, and 2 x $250.00 for site visits. 1 for the install and another to return and repair an AC wire that burned up in the panel while they were working. I’m disappointed that Pole Green Services was more concerned to make a few hundred dollars more than doing the right thing and adjusting the charges to better align with the actual work done. Even after my suggestions to simplify the work necessary was what happened in the end.
If you are looking for an EV charger installation, I would not bother using Dominion Energy Solutions as was recommended by the car dealer and just call a qualified electrician who can give you a fair price.

Terrible customer service. I called a week ago about an emergency/time consuming issue and still never got a call back. When I called to find out why… I got excuses and was basically told my call got put on the back burner. Will never recommend these people!! THEYRE HORRIBLE!!
