Great home remodeling company that does quality work with people that are a pleasure to work with.

They say the devil is in the details. Great home remodeling company with excellent project managers to make sure said details get done right. Shout out to Tom Craze as the project manager.

We had Case manage our kitchen remodel. They were a great team that did amazing work and had smooth communication with us the whole time. Very friendly and highly recommended.

I’ve had multiple job done with Case Design. They are the most friendly, professional, well organized company in the market. I can suggest them for your next project “whole heartedly”.

Anyone should feel confident working with this group. As a collective unit, having been exposed to them for several years now, they are as forward thinking as anyone in the remodeling business. The best design firms are strongest in the finer details, and these guys specialize in the nuances! Know you are getting a quality product from excellent professionals, who make sure the job is done way above industry stadard. A + all around.

Who says remodeling can't be fun? When we recently did a big reno, we used Case Design& Remodeling, after interviewing several other firms. We couldn't be more thrilled with the result! Our project not only came in on time, it came in under budget! We loved working with Tom Craze and the whole Case team. It was actually FUN!!!

We are so enjoying the new kitchen! Everything went well, and Case went above and beyond. Are we happy clients? Oh yes!! Mornings are lovely. From our off-kitchen dining area, I gaze and smile at the special tiles, perfect cabinets, shimmering counter tops... every part of the kitchen is not only beautiful, but the memories of pulling it together are sweet. Case took our wishes, and created - with wonderful artists and craftsmen - our perfect kitchen. Every day, I "thank" Case! Aslin & Josh Cohen

The one thing that I always say about Case and our house remodel is "everything looks better than I thought it would." We worked with Gizem, Elena, Bruce, and Jason. It was a huge project - very old house that hadn't been well-maintained. We moved the kitchen, moved around several walls and doorways, and created a master suite upstairs. We also created a mudroom in the basement and put a garage door on.
Case is expensive, for sure, but you get what you pay for. Everything just looks incredible. The team was responsive, quickly dealt with my issues, and almost finished on time.
Honestly, there are a couple of nitpicky things I could say that bothered me at the time but now that the project is over and done with and my house looks like it does I really don't care. The big things that mattered were done well. They were on budget (I ended up paying $2k more for allowances at the end), pretty much on time (our shower door was custom and ended up taking a month and a half longer than expected), the quality is SO GOOD, the subcontractors were all good and respectful, our main carpenter was so smart and great at his job, our designers honestly KILLED it - I have very specific tastes that I'd define as "not basic but not kind of basic" and Gizem and Elena were able to nail it.
I never want to do another renovation again, but if I did, I'd definitely call Case. -
We spoke to many designers, builders and design/build firms in advance of undertaking our kitchen and master bath renovation. Case Design, April Underwood and Elena Eskandari stood out from the rest by a large margin. Deep knowledge and expertise across many areas (appliances, construction, layout, etc, etc.), detailed project management, wonderful design guidance, and plenty of patience as we learned along the way as well. I would not hesitate to recommend them or to hire them again.

Case Design states in writing, “From concept to completion we strive to deliver the highest quality and service, design and craftsmanship…” Case Design not only achieved that goal, but also surpassed it during the renovation of our master bath and closet!
Our Case Design Project Manager, Bruce Gettys, exemplifies that statement. Bruce is organized, knowledgeable, skilled and reliable. During our master bath and closet renovation, he kept us informed, listened to our concerns and handled our special requests. All with patience, grace and kindness. Bruce is a professional and produced a quality project that met and exceeded our expectations.
Excellence is Case Design’s goal, and the team of skilled craftsmen lead by Bruce reached it during each step of the process on our master bath and closet. On completion of the project we could only say “WOW”. -
The first word that comes to mind about Case Architects & Remodelers, who built us a beautiful screened porch: teamwork. They carry you through the construction process like a baton in a relay race. In our case, the work began with Director of Project Development David Waguespack, who assessed our goals and budget. Then Architectural Designer Zahra Keihani designed us a gorgeous porch. Next, lead craftsman Edwin Calderon and his team of carpenters got to work, while senior project manager Tom Craze expertly managed the construction. Every one of them was skilled, honest, and professional. This is a team I will return to for any remodeling needs—and so should you!

Professional, knowledgable, responsive, thoughtful, all of these describe the folks from Case who helped us realize our kitchen. In the years before retiring I dreamed of having a kitchen with lots of space to store things and where I could indulge my love for cooking. We also wanted to revamp and add a pet shower to our laundry room so that our aging great dane would not need to climb stairs for his showers. We spent a year researching before deciding on someone we could trust to guide us through this process. We chose Case and they were absolutely the right choice!
From our team of architects, Susan, Dave and Grace, to the workmen in our home daily for three months they were all polite, courteous and helpful. When we were unsure of best choices they provided the information needed and helped guide us to make the best choice. The Project Manager, Bruce, was prompt and responsive when we had questions. He kept us informed with weekly meetings and email updates.
We are already thinking about our next remodeling project and the folks at Case will be the first people we call when we are ready to move ahead with it. -
From my first interaction with Michael Sass, Director of Project Development, I was impressed with the level of detail Case provides in planning, design, and installation. Having suffered through some pretty stressful home remodeling projects in the past, I felt instant reassurance that this experience would be different. Michael listened to my concerns and worked hard to keep my dream kitchen within my budget. Designer Elena Eskandari pulled together the entire look for me, which was much appreciated since I have no expertise in that area. (All I was confident about was the color and style of cabinetry I wanted.) Elena suggested tile, counters, lighting, paint, and hardware to create a stunning final design, and was patient with me through several blueprint iterations. Program Manager Bruce Gettys prepared an incredibly detailed project plan, precisely outlining what I could expect to happen each day of demo and installation. No detail was overlooked; nothing was left to chance; everything occurred as planned; and there were no surprises. I'd easily recommend Case to anyone seeking first-class, professional, attentive service.

I contracted with Case Design and Build after reviewing proposals from four design/build firms in the Falls Church area. I contracted for two projects – conversion of an appx 8’ X 10’ attached shed into a second full bathroom and the enclosure of a 12’ X 12’ portion of an existing deck with a kneewall, screening, gable-and-hip roof (attached to an existing flat roof) and two exterior screen doors. I asked Case for a proposal in February of 2018 and advised them of their selection for the job in early May. From May through late November I had numerous meetings and conversations with Michael Sass regarding my design ideas and specifications for the designs, including preliminary and followup site inspections by Case for photos and measurements, and visits to the Case Design studio to review materials, fixtures and accessories for the projects. I got good ideas and advice from Case’s interior design specialist, Gizem Ozkaya.
The design and cost negotiations process took longer than I had expected, but a lot of that was my cost control efforts, which resulted in redesigns, and there were delays due to personal events, travel, weather, etc... I found Case to be extremely flexible and very accommodating during this process. I was very focused on keeping my costs down, and Case responded with evaluative feedback and ways to support my decisions. I purchased most of the fixtures and accessories directly myself to save costs, and I subcontracted directly for the trenching and footers for the sewer line and porch foundations, and for the siding and roofing of the deck. Case was supportive of these cost-saving measures and helped me by recommending contractors I could work with, including when my one of my initial selections fell through. In order to meet my budget limits, Case reworked designs and materials but did not accept anything that would undermine the quality of the structures of the projects.
I was very pleased with the project manager, Justin Speer, who responded or followed up on my communications and made frequent site visits to check on progress. He also did some of the followup work for the punch list himself rather than wait for crew to be able to get to the work. The Case crew was great – I will single out Juan, whose tiling work in the bathroom was precise down to matching every little piece of tile pattern he installed. The framing and finishing carpentry done by Jay in the bathroom was careful, solid and precise. On the deck, David did most of the framing, finishing and screening
(including crawling under the deck on his back to screen the underside of the floor!)
Lance and Jaime did a lot of work on the exterior also.
In the end, and within my budget, I have a new master bath that incorporated every fixture I planned for and a screened deck that I will enjoy for the life of this house. It is so solid that it will last out a hurricane, and adds a wonderful space to my home. Overall, Case gets an A from me. -
Are there enough adjectives to describe my recent experience with Case Design? Great, professional, experienced, flexible, courteous, timely, talented - I could go on and on - but if you're looking for a company to design and build your new bathroom, my whole-hearted recommendation starts here! My craftsman was the best and even the smallest detail was not overlooked. Stop shopping around and go with Case - as with most things, you get what you pay for!

Case Design was our pick out of three companies we interviewed. This has been a major project for us and, we are happy that we chose Case Design to execute it. We started with Elle and her no-nonsense “let’s not reinvent the wheel” approach to Allie’s amazing style and focus, Jason’s mad carpenter skills, and Bruce’s well organized plan of action and updates. Not to mention, they have a long list of top notch contractors used to pull off this fabulous basement makeover. We recommend Case Design and would use them again in a heartbeat.

I have worked with Case design for many years and the team has always been courteous, responsive and professional. The design team is extremely knowledgeable and hands on to ensure clients get the style and function best suited for their own individual needs. Having worked especially close with April, Susan, David and the rest of the team on multiple projects Im extremely confident in recommending Case design for any budget. From start to finish Case has always impressed me with the level of service, attention to detail, and amazing results. I highly recommend Case design.

When deciding to renovate our home, we met with several different architects and designers. There were a few things that drew us to Case. First, it is a design and build firm, so we didn’t have to work with an architect on plans, then bid out those plans to others to be built. Case has the expertise to handle the entire process. Second, Dave Vogt, our project developer, was the only one who had done research on the property, lot and general area before our initial meeting. And lastly, Dave was the only one who talked about the exterior design of the home. In the end, his advice on the siding pattern, color and layout resulted in the exterior of our home having character/depth, rather than being just a flat wall of siding. In addition to his design guidance throughout the project, he also helped with key decisions in the primary bath that really elevated the whole look of that room too!
As we got into the design phase of the project, we worked closely with Ellen Whitmore. I told her about the time I had tried my hand at designing our powder room, and how things just did not look good together at the end. She was so great at staying true to my idea of how I wanted everything to look, while also providing her expert advice and guidance to make sure that that vision would be realized – that all the things would actually look good together. She has such an eye! You know how sometimes you can look at something and you can tell it’s off, but you’re just not sure exactly what it is? Well, she can spot the thing. She made sure that everything – the layout, arches, spacing, cabinet ends, tile pattern, grout colors, railing shape – everything! – was just so. And even though it wasn’t part of the contract, she even helped me with paint colors.
When we first started thinking of renovating, we heard so many stories of builders not finishing the work, of doing shoddy work just to get done quickly, etc. But we could not have asked for a better experience with project manager Justin Speer! We had weekly status meetings/house visits to discuss previously completed tasks, upcoming tasks, and any variations to the timeline. As with many renovations of older houses, there were some definite surprises (surprise - water is seeping into your foundation!), and Justin handled them all expertly. His team had an eye for detail, and they just made our home so beautiful. And they had a camaraderie that was sweet to watch. Dare I say that this was the most fun part of the project for me – seeing everything come together in real life!
Lastly, any questions we’ve had or fixes needed post renovation, Case has responded to quickly.
The only recommendation I have would be: the project management process used during build (e.g., weekly status meetings) was really helpful for us to keep track of the timeline. I think it would be helpful to implement a similar process for the entire length of the project.
My apologies for this novel of a review. The short version is, I would not hesitate to work with Case again! -
Case was excellent for our interior remodel and exterior transformation. In addition to the exceptional design and execution, the team was incredibly pleasant to work with from start to end. Our project was completed on time and on budget. We were living at the house during the construction and the entire crew kept everything incredibly tidy, clean, and as dust free as possible.

From start to finish, the CASE Team were all true professionals. Colleen and Neil are experts in their field and their wealth of knowledge helped bring our vision to life. Their design and construction expertise ensured timely completion of a remodel that we could not be happier with. As the PM, Bill maintained an organized and tidy work area, mitigating dust and keeping us informed of progress every step of the way. I would highly recommend the CASE Team and overall design experience. As the old adage goes, you get what you pay for and the CASE Team was worth every penny.

We highly recommend Case for a home renovation. They provided a professional team guiding us through a complex process, helping us make wise decisions about our remodel.
After looking at several companies to create an open space by gutting our living room, dining room, and kitchen, renovate two bathrooms, and add a porch/sunroom, we settled on Case. We had heard horror stories from others who did renovations: delays, numerous change orders, expenses far exceeding estimates, and more. We experienced none of that with Case.
In short, their design advice and careful planning meant we ended up with a product that is better than we could have imagined. Case is a bit more expensive than some competitors…but you get what you pay for.
Their process is to be admired. Nearly every detail was worked out before a contract was signed and demolition began. A team was assigned to us to help us with developing the project which included drawing design elements of our project. It took us several months to work out the project design and the details we wanted. As first-time renovators, they were very patient with us, giving us the time to get comfortable with decisions. The design team was willing to offer suggestions if we wanted them or guide us to places where we could look at products and make our own decisions on cabinets, countertops, tiling, etc.
Once we completed that process, Case brought a team, including their subcontractors (e.g., electricians, plumbers), to walk through the premises to provide a cost estimate and to spot any potential issues they might encounter. This step helped avoid the “we just discovered” when the work started and unexpected costs.
Even as good as the design team was, the glue to making all this work was the project manager. He cracked the whip to keep the work on schedule and kept us aware of all the steps during our weekly meetings. These meetings were constructive and filled with problem solving solutions. Most importantly, he got to know us and our interests. Instead of falling back on rote responses and plowing forward with pre-canned solutions, he found ways to respond to our needs and our likes, often anticipating issues and solutions before we raised them. He treated us well, as though we were his neighbor, and applied his extensive skills and creativity to help us achieve outcomes we genuinely liked.
The entire Case team were not just skilled professionals, they also took pride in their work.
And, as a result, we couldn’t be happier. If we were to do additional remodeling, Case would be our choice without hesitation.
