So happy I found this nursery. I want to share a couple photos of my raised beds and pots with the soil from NW Landscape supply and then topped off with a couple bags Bu’s mulch from NW Garden and Stone. When I bought the Bu’s mulch I was told you won’t have to fertilize as I walked out the door. I thought “huh?” but no truer words have been spoken. My raised bed and pots are absolutely epic this year. NO fertilizing. Only watering and this businesses fantastic soil offerings. I try not to think of the money I’ve wasted on amendments, mulch and potting soils from other local nurseries. I happily drive right by them now.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience last night at the Northwest Garden & Stone Holiday Open House. The shop was packed—easily over 100 people—and for a space that intimate, it was impressive to see how smoothly everything flowed. The atmosphere was festive, warm, and full of excitement.
Everyone seemed to be having a spectacular time, leaving with armloads of holiday treats, gifts, and décor. I picked up my favorite Frasier fragrance, which I adore, along with a few other treasures. Their merchandise is always high-quality, beautifully curated, and perfect for holiday gifting.
The staff was outstanding—helpful, friendly, and clearly working hard to make the night special. Even the long line felt enjoyable because people were cheerful, polite, and visiting with one another while waiting.
Don’t get your Christmas tree now, They were just delivered by here and you can enjoy your entire Thanksgiving holiday.
Such a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season.
Huge kudos to the entire Northwest Garden & Stone team.
Five stars all the way! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 -
Katy Bigelow is a knowledgeable, professional and courteous arborist and a welcome member of the community. I fully recommend her if you need some questions answered about your trees!
And in response to Luis A's bizarre rant: The woodchips are not "waist" as you phrased it. All parks use them to improve the soil to help with plant growth. Snohomish parks approved putting the woodchips here. There is no "ethics violation". I confirmed all of this with Snohomish Parks and Rec. -
Katy was awesome. I was having a hard time with a timber trespass issue, since I couldn't find anyone to give me a reasonable value on my trees.
She was professional and thorough. When all was said and done she gave me a printed valuation with explanations as to how the values were determined.
Thank you,

We hired Katy for an un-biased opinion (she only consults) on some trees we were concerned we’re a hazard not only to our property but neighbors, too. We got the go-ahead & feel this is primarily due to her diligence in the memo she created on our behalf. Thanks Katy!

Katy Bigelow, is one of the Arborists we contact for tree assessment in our company because she provides detailed service and all the information that we need to know. We are happy with the service. With Katy, you can assure that her service is amazing. Thanks, Katy.

Katy came out to look at our trees. She was absolutely perfect. Smart, kind, patient and most of all extraordinarily knowledgeable and very reasonable. Only wish we had called her sooner. Highly highly recommend before you do anything with your trees.

Katy was exceptional. I am a crabby, old geezer. I know how to find fault. Katy was superlative and I can not. Not anywhere. I think this is the first time, ever. If she is busy, wait for her to fit you in. You will be extremely pleased that you did. Usually I tell people to ignore my advice. This is the exception. Be patient and let her fit you in. I am very glad I did and I am very grateful for her help!

Katy Bigelow is one of the regions best arborists. She's experienced, knowledgeable and excellent at communicating her findings in a way that everyone can understand. If you need help with your trees you've come to the right arborist!

Katy is one of the most ethical knowledgable safety oriented and environmentally conscious arborists I have ever met and had the pleasure to work with. Ive been in the tree care industry for over 16 years, a partner at one of Washingtons first TCIA accredited companies and a certified arborist for 6 off those years so I've met many arborists along the way to compare to.
When I learned that Katy had moved to my neighborhood I was admittedly excited as ive had some plans about approaching the Snohomish County parks dept about a possible volunteer park project just down the road for our homes. I asked Katy if she would be interested in helping / volunteering and she was just as excited as I was and that was about 2 years ago. The goal was to reclaim a lot that was cleared for townhomes but was then donated back to the county as a nature park and since the county had neither the time money or resources we asked if we could step in and they gladly accepted as long as we were able to demonstrate certain requirements volunteer programs such as these entail.
Both Katy and myself have been working with our neighbors for almost 2 years in very close coordination and supervision from Snohomish co parks and multiple tree care companies for donated wood chip material. The hundreds of hours she and I have spent of our own time along with 100s of dollars of our own money to invest into a county park was for the safety, education and benefit of our community and neighbors by helping to rehab and reforest a cleared and backfilled lot that was intended for building development. Everything Katy and myself have done with this volunteer project has been with express approval and consent from Sno Co parks dept as we report monthly with work party updates and hours volunteers worked or any requests we may have.
Reviews such as Luis A below are exactly what's wrong with internet review sites. Had Luis chosen to read the large Snohomish County Park sign at the entrance of the park with both phone number and email contact info he may have gotten an actual real response from someone who in fact manages the park, in Snohomish county, not Lynwood parks dept. He could have also gotten info about the park project from no less than 3 finely laminated signs we created and hung around the park for the Friend Of Sundquist volunteer sign up effort, discussing the plans and goals as well as materials to be used (wood chips). So the fact he chose to call the wrong park dept to voice his concern was simply a waste of both his and Rich Lindseys time simply because he couldn't bother to read the signage at the park and call the correct people and then chose to verbally attack a local park volunteer is just wrong and completely unacceptable! His allegations and lies are easily answered and debunked had he spoke with Snoho co parks dept, but no an impatient agitated 1 star rage post review for a small business woman who volunteers both her time and money in HIS community for a park project to benefit everyone all because he can't read a sign or didn't care to get facts before posting! His post should be removed either by him or google but here we are. He has also yet to contact Snohomish co parks dept to confirm his mistakes but is that really surprising? As I am also personally invested in this park and brought Katy into the fold with it I can't help but address the absurd review filled with angry rhetoric and misinformation from a local google guide who can't be bothered with facts. But we've already wasted enough time and energy on Luis A and his misinformed rants.
This page is for Katy so in closing you will not find another more dedicated knowledgable and safety oriented arborist (neighbor and human)! She continually goes above and beyond the expectations of both friends and clients alike because that's just the person she is. If you need a cat rescued from a tree or an arborist report or just knowledgable advice as how to best care for your trees and shrubs she is the lady to go to. Her dedication to the arboriculture industry is invaluable!! -

I was so pleased with the work Andy and his team did removing the stump in my backyard. They were very efficient and professional, and they even took the time to explain the process beforehand. I've had landscaping work done before, but this was by far the smoothest experience start to finish. Their communication was excellent! They have my business for life!
-
I can't say enough good things about my experience with Madrona Tree Care! They were incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, and their communication was top-notch. They made sure I understood exactly what needed to be done and why, which was especially helpful since I've had some bad experiences with tree work in the past, so thankful!

Andrew with Madrona exceeded my expectations in every way. Their team was prompt, professional, and did an excellent job trimming my trees. I highly recommend Madrona Tree Care for any tree work. They recently helped me with a tricky situation involving a tree that was growing too close to my house. They were able to safely remove the tree without causing any damage to my property. I've had trees removed before, but this was the most challenging one. Their expertise and communication were invaluable. I highly recommend this company, the blend between amazing customer service and professional work done I WILL be using these guys for my future projects. Great work/price/expertise, these guys are THE REAL DEAL!
