I rarely ever write a review but feel compelled to do so BECAUSE of HOW GREAT Riggins Construction and Ryan Riggins was!..Hopefully quick short story!..by a FLUKE...I just happen to come across Riggins name while looking for a small outside deck to be done..the original company that gave me some ideas were unresponsive and the ideas were NOT what I wanted...I called Riggins and RIGHT AWAY I KNEW he was the one for the job...EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE, EFFICIENT and FAST TALKER!..He came by the next day and knew exactly what I was looking for and started immediately...He was and is the FINEST contractor I have EVER come across...!!..He communicated through out the project asking me WHAT I wanted and what exactly he was doing and gave me some GREAT information about the rules, permits, measurements ...the WORKS!..He KNOWS HIS STUFF!...He has got to be the MOST HARDWORKING, HONEST, DEDICATED, and EXTREMELY COMMUNICATIVE CONTRACTOR I have EVER COME ACROSS!..seriously!! the deck came out SPECTACULAR...EXACTLY what I wanted..(since I did NOT even KNOW what I WANTED!) and I can't even begin to THANK him enough for his intelligence, insight, and awesome character!..His impeccable dedication to his company and his skillful projects is to be commended!...He has got to be the hands down the most expert professional contractor I have ever had the pleasure to work with and sincerely hope he continues with his success as a construction specialist and builder! I can't recommend him enough and when people walk by and comment on HOW BEAUTIFUL the deck is and WHERE I got it built...I quickly tell them his name and company!..I commend his designs and his company to the moon!..THANK YOU RIGGINS CONSTRUCTION FOR EVERYTHING!.please support this local business...you will be happy you do!..I am over the moon!! :) :) :)

This was the most unpleasant interaction I have ever had with a contractor. Since he has currently issued a threat of a defamation lawsuit (a *totally* normal thing to do in response to a bad review I am sure), I will provide a complete and accurate account of our interactions.

I was not a customer of Riggins construction. We found them on Google, and we liked their work.

Mr. Riggins had some scheduling conflicts that made it difficult for him to get in.

When he was finally able to get in, I let him know he'd have to meet with my wife as I had a conflict. He replied with a preference to see us both, so we could commit right away. I let him know we would be reviewing multiple quotes privately anyway. He asked for the competitors quote. I refused since I like seeing initial quotes first. He acted with surprise and said he'd never heard of such a thing. Up until now, nothing that out of the ordinary. He asked where we'd found him and I mistakenly said Thumbtack. He bashed Thumbtack a bit. I found that unprofessional and let him know. I also was also tactlessly blunt that earlier unavailability (not his fault!) meant that he was now a bit behind other option. He said he didn't want to work with us.

Up until now, this was just normal level bad interaction - he was unpleasant, but then, so was I. I *really* don't like it when businesses trash other businesses, whether that's a contractor trashing Thumbtack or a Crossfit instructor trashing Planet Fitness. And I doubtless was quite the jerk about that.

Nevertheless, I chose to leave a one star review. Because at the end of the day unprofessionalism is unprofessionalism.

In response to that review he threatened a defamation lawsuit. I offered to edit any content of the review to meet his requirements, but understandably refused to take it down.

I remain willing to edit any content of this review which Mr Riggins considers to be factually incorrect!
