They handled the changes with our utility company, the installation crew were top notch, and the staff answered all questions quickly. We had a great experience with Alaska Solar. They took care of everything and kept us posted on the progress of our muni permits. I didn't want a silver colored connector on the roof, so they painted it black to match the roof! No problem. I'm excited to go solar!

Alaska solar installation was the neatest things we did last year. The staff was the best from start of project to the end…what wonderful people to deal with! Everything went perfectly smoothly..on time on budget and perfectly carried out. We were so happy to pull the switch on watch the miracle happen: no more power bills for the whole summer. Not sure if it ever makes perfect financial sense but if you have money in bank making no interest invest it in the planet.

My whole experience with Alaska Solar was positive. The initial meeting, installation and follow up was all first class. When the placement of the panels on my roof were slightly blocked by one of my trees they added 2 more panels at no cost to me.

The initial quote for my solar project came with three proposals, based on number of panels that differed with costs, so that I could pick an installation type that was within my budget and met my electrical production needs. When unforeseen work was required due to the age of my house (1950), Alaska Solar was upfront about the extra work/costs associated with the project and worked with me to find a cost-effective solution with the expected costs BEFORE moving forward with the work. I am sixty-nine, live in the Mat-Su Valley, and have been an Alaska Solar customer for a little over a year. I have been an Alaska resident since 1985, with exception of a seven year hiatus in California. It was during my time in California when I gained first hand experience as a solar system customer. Of course, Alaska is not California. Nonetheless, I began to explore various solar system options in early 2022. I contacted several solar system vendors. The clear choice soon became evident with Alaska Solar.

Alaska Solar was timely providing initial consultation to understanding my annual electric usage, concerns, and budget. I was visited by an Alaska Solar consultant who surveyed my location and provided several options based upon my interest and needs.

I was quite fortunate in the timing of my decision to purchase a ten panel, 3.4kW, grid-tied solar system. Alaska Solar's installation team was friendly, professional, and well-qualified to install my system. I was apprised every step of the way.

During the process, it became quite clear that Alaska Solar has an excellent working relationship with MEA, which made approval from system design, to inspection, and eventually going live seamless from my customer perspective.

Alaska Solar's service did not end with my system going live. They have followed up with me to ascertain my satisfaction, along with monitoring of the system to assure proper functioning.

A couple considerations if you are thinking to purchase a solar system in Alaska: the cost of utilities (electric and natural gas) are rising and will likely continue to do so for many years to come; a solar system will help mitigate the rising costs (Alaska Solar will be able to provide valuable information on such projections based on publicly sourced information); and for icing on the cake, there is a thirty percent (30%) federal tax credit for solar system installations total cost.

They were clear, communicative, timely, and reliable throughout the process. With so many decisions to make building a new home, it was a relief to have such a trusted partner take care of interactions with my builder, electrician, and the utility company. My array is working perfectly and Kip got us up and running with the monitoring software. So cool to watch the panels powering away!

I got to turn on my solar panels on 2 Oct 2024, and I do not regret that I went with Alaska Solar. Their staff was super, and their installation from the solar panels, meter base being moved, and working with CEA to move my overhead power line to my house to underground was uneventful. I would highly recommend going to Alaska Solar if your thinking going solar.

Great professional crew installed the panels fast and did all the permitting with MoA and Net Metering with Chugach promptly. Started generating electricity and on 10/7/24 developed 12.3 kWh!

I requested the panels be moved to the edge of the roof so there wouldn’t be a long stretch of visible conduit running over the roof. I have also decided to move the gutter downspout so it won’t flow under the lower panels.

AK Solar installed a 10 KW system on my roof in Homer. Everyone from start to finish were very professional. Communication was great, they did what they said they were going to do, and kept me informed during the entire process. Their install crew was working during surprise winter conditions, and they were prepared and worked without complaint. We had one day of ice and one day of sun and I could tell these guys enjoy what they do. Once I turned the system on it worked flawlessly and it is very fun to watch the app and see how much electricity is being generated, even in the winter. Thank you AK Solar!

We went with Alaska Solar in 2024. We have a 13kW system with 32 panels. They were very easy to work with, explained everything, gave us cost analyses from every angle you could imagine and obviously use quality equipment. Any time we have a question or an issue they are quick to respond. I couldn't think more highly of Alaska Solar.
