When my home warranty finally decided to replace my unit, E&A quickly set me up with a schedule at their soonest available date. They called me weekend, and got me set up on Monday. They also said the technicians would arrive anytime between 8 and 11. And they did, 8AM. Awesome! They also said it may take up to five hours. But everything was done in about three hours less. Very fast and thus time efficient for customers. They have kind and knowledgeable technicians. I am now enjoying my cool home.

E & A Mechanical was sent by my home warranty. First of all, if I could give them a 0 I would. Had them come over twice. The first time the first thing the guy said was "You're outside my area". Then why take the job to begin with???!!!!!!! So I immediately got "annoyed" vibes from him. Whatever, he checked my AC. He didn't do anything other than leave my vents open and didn't put things back. Okay. Not a big deal, I did it. Then he was scheduled again to come and check out a duct... I got a call last minute to say they couldn't do anything because my ducts were on my walls. WHAT???? 100% incorrect. I corrected and then was told they don't fit in my attic. EXCUSE ME? My husband who is 6' 2" 220lbs fits with room to spare. Like c'mon! Super unprofessional. If he didn't want to do the job just say no PERIOD! Don't do lie about it to avoid coming out last minute.

Technician was very nice and what I thought was informative when he was here. Got up in the attic and inspected evap coils. Said they need to be replaced then went on to write a report to my home warranty that he could not access the evap coils and that portions of the attic or roof would need to be removed as well as ducts to gain access to the evap coils! Never once did he mention this when he was here on site and seemed confident he would be back for a repair. Seems like they have lazy technicians who tell you one thing face to face and another thing to your insurance company. Contacting their office doesn't do much good either. Stay away!
UPDATE AFTER OWNESR RESPONSE: 6-4-2024
Had another company come out. Cool Comfort. They had no problem accessing the evap coils in the attic. These guys didn't even inspect them and just assumed they needed to be replaced. Turns on the evap coils were perfectly fine. The issue was a metering device that was clogged with a small piece of metal. They corrected it WITHOUT HAVING TO CUT OPEN MY ROOF. Problem was solved same day. -
Their technician Andre was assigned to check our heating system through our home warranty, National Fidelity Home Warranty. The moment he came in, we turned on the heater and set to 70C. He checked our heating unit and also the outside unit if it’s working. While checking everything, I asked him if both should be turned on at the same time ( inside and outside units) together when the heater is on? He said yes. He spent like 10mins checking everything then told me it should not be “on“when the heater is also “on”. I actually got a second opinion from another company that both should turn on because the unit outside should serve as a heating blower. He gave me conflicting answers. We went back inside the house, he was checking the heating unit again & said, it’s working. I told him that if it’s working we should be getting heat out of the vent. He showed me his thermometer with reading of 85F but our thermostat was 62C Heater was on during his entire stay. He even blamed the house inspector about not doing a good job with the inspection of our heating unit. He walked out when I tried to complain that no heat was coming out of the vent and he insisted that the heating unit is working good. He wanted me to believe about his diagnostic that everything was working good and He tend to argue even though he can feel and know that there was no heat coming out of the vent. Very unprofessional, incompetent and dishonest technician

The E&A technician went above and beyond to address the issue(s) with my very old HVAC unit. He gave me helpful tips on how to clean the unit and thoroughly checked out everything. He was able to get the old unit back up & running. And, it's running smoother and better than before!

Sent out by my home warranty company, American Home Shield. Tech went up into attic for 45 seconds, came down, told me I had a big problem and he couldn’t get into my attic to see the furnace. I had already had 2 techs up there from another company for over half an hour, gotten a detailed report of what needed to be done. Got a 3rd opinion, and that tech was also able to get into my attic and tell me what needed to be fixed. Called American Shield several times, got their unhelpful call center in the Philippines. Finally my realtor stepped in and I spoke with another agent yesterday morning. She initially wanted to charge me another $75 for a second opinion by one of the other companies she works with. Still waiting for that to happen, and I refused to pay any more money...I should be getting my initial $75 back for the first useless tech. I was then told I had to use one of American Home Shield’s companies for repairs/replacements. CA law states I can use the contractor of my choice and I’ll be reimbursed. Stay away from American Home Shield and run fast if E&A ever comes to your door!!!!
FEB. 10 FOLLOW UP....I certainly understand the importance of safety. No, there is no catwalk, but other contractors were able to safely get up there to evaluate the situation, and make
arrangements with an abatement company to remove the asbestos so the work that needed to be done could be accomplished. Why wasn’t that recommended by your company? The asbestos is being removed today, and American Home Shield is sending out someone tomorrow to go back into the attic for an evaluation even though the work will be performed by a company of my choice. -
Home warranty insurance sent this company for a HVAC tune up. E&A stated condenser did not need to be cleaned or freon gas recharged. I had a different company examine my ac unit, was told condenser unit was dirty and had to be cleaned; as well as freon gas replaced. E&A charged for doing absolutely nothing, and swept the problem under the rug. WILL NOT BE USING THEIR SERVICES AGAIN.

SCAM, STAY AWAY from this company.
They quoted us 10k while we got our unit fixed for $1200.
As mentioned with other negative review, do not let First American Home Insurance assign this company to you!!! We didn't do any research prior so we weren't aware of this company. Anyways. Our AC unit was not working properly and FAH insurance assigned E&A mechanical to us. The guy came and took a lot at our unit as well as up the roof to check pipping, he said our compressor is dead, everything is leaking, roof has missing parts, and it won't be covered by insurance. Then he showed me a screenshot from his phone saying, your insurance goes by this plan(pays 50%) when you upgrade to a new unit.
He then quoted us 10k to fix everything because without insurance it would easily cost us 75k!!!!! (what?!?!)
He then asked us several times if we want to proceed with it, I told him I'll need to check with my home insurance and he kept saying, if we do it now, it will be 8000, submitting it insurance will take a long time. Better agree on the price now so we can speed up the process. I declined and said let's submit the claim with home insurance and we will see.
2 days later, they called and asked if we were to proceed, we told them our home insurance never received your claim and we could not proceed.
Long story short, we had 2 another companies come and check our ac unit because E&A mechanical did not seem reliable and we wanted a second opinion. Both company did a THOROUGH check. When I say thorough, he literally tried 4 possible ways to fix our compressor, wash off the dirts, released Freon and etc...
Turns out our compressor needs replacement, we raised concerned about missing parts and leakage but things were fine up in the attic, no leakage. They submitted the claim within 2 business days. We ended up only paying $1200 total. -
I was able to get an appointment within a week and with the heat wave going on that was great. They said a technician will arrive between 8-11. Our technician arrived at approximately 830 which was great. His name was art and he was very knowledgeable and in 15 minutes he replaced two problem capacitors. He had the parts with him in his van The last time From another company, the technician came with no parts, and we had to wait a couple of weeks for it to come in and they didn’t do Saturday service so I had to take time off from work. Very happy with the service and the company I will recommend them to all 142 of my neighbors in my gated community

I don't call on an A/C repairman often, but on the occasions I have had to, I have called on E & A Mechanical and always glad I did!!
It has been a number of years since my last service call to them, but my A/C went out suddenly yesterday and I immediately called them for an appointment. The receptionist on every call was professional and friendly. They immediately brought up my records and new the history. The dispatched a technician who came out first thing next day.
I believe the technician's name was Eugene. He was super friendly, professional, and efficient. Very sincere and honest company representative. Quickly diagnosed my package unit and quickly got it working again! I was thinking the worst all night, but E&A fixed it and made my stress immediately come down.
My unit is a rooftop package unit, older model, but they never have had a problem keeping this tank running like new! -
Ivan at E&A Mechanical was able to find root cause of my AC issue. He was patient, professional, listened to our concerns, and a problem solver. All other techs from other companies did not perform the troubleshooting techniques Ivan did. Issue was resolved on first visit. My household recommends E&A Mechanical for all AC needs.

Good customer experience, very pleased with service. Fixed our heating problem.

Technician, Andrey K, arrived as scheduled. He is very polite and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem fast and effectively. I would recommend this technician to everyone having problems with Air Conditioning system.

Do not let First American Home Warranty assign this company to you. Do not work with this company in any way possible. They will lie to you, they will do anything to get out of actually servicing your unit.
My original service request through First American Home Warranty stated our AC unit was on our roof and it's a 2 story house. They still took on the job. I reviewed Yelp and Google and saw the negative reviews and pleaded with First American Home Warranty to re-assign, they didn't. They assured me that E & A Mechanical is a good company. (Not sure how they haven't seen all the negative reviews). So I got stuck with them, showed up, reviewed, and then when leaving the guy asked where the AC unit was. I mentioned on the roof above the second story like the service request stated, he said he couldn't go up there today but the company will follow up.
First American approved repairs, I've waited all day for E&A to follow up and then they told First American they can not service this unit because it's on the roof. They lied and told me they need to contact First American for authorization. They hung up on me twice when I kept trying to find out what the status was. They didn't return my voicemail. They did not return my text. The only way I got through was *82, so it was obvious they were screening calls.
This is all one big scam. No one is helping and we have been without AC waiting for this to be taken care of. Now we have to wait for First American Home Warranty to dispatch a new company, which won't be until Friday at the soonest, all because E & A Mechanical didn't want to do their job and just took the service request to get paid. This is all one big scam. -
When I read other customers reviews, I found my situation is so similar to theirs!! This company was assigned by home insurance company and could not fix issues at all! Last summer, they were assigned to fix my AC issue but only made things worse! Very similar to Arnold's case, they came check the system, then said the system was working fine! No it didn't! The AV was not blowing cool air at all! Then he left!!! leaving my service request open for months without doing anything!!! Since it was September, so we let it go till last week. The heater was not working and they were assigned by the insurance again. The lady on the phone was so rude and non-professional, then I had to call insurance to assign a new vendor. The new vendor came and checked the system, then told us that E&A modified the wiring and the control board was burned!! All I can say for this company is, DO NOT USE THEM! Not only waste your time and money, they also make damages!!!!

Andre from E & A was timely, professional, communicative and fixed my A/C issue perfectly. He was awesome and I am very pleased! I had no issues and the turnaround time during a heat wave was exemplary. Thank you, Andre!
-
Ivan was very helpful and professional! He solved the problem with my AC fairly quickly while previous vendors told me my AC could not be fixed and must be replaced. So this company saved me a lot of money. I am very grateful to Ivan!

We were linked up with E&A through our home warranty. The warranty company said to expect a call within 24-48 hours, but we were called in 1.5 hours for an appointment. Which honestly, we were not expecting a phone call over the weekend, so bonus points for that!
The tech was on time and fast. He jumped back and forth from our ceiling to our roof and we had cold air in less than 1 hour. Yay! Very happy they could get us fixed up so quickly -
Very poor communication from this company. Text, emails and phone calls were almost never responded to and when we finally did get a scheduled technician to come, they cancelled. Very poor
Communication from this company…
Adding to their response.. The is more of an explanation. They did come on 8/04 BUT then never contacted me. I have multiple emails and text message conversations of my attempts to contact. They then cancelled their appointment AFTER they contacted me to schedule it. You can see MANY reviews below that echo my experience. That is the full story and unfortunately, fully deserve a 1 star review. I also followed up to let the Home Warranty company know these facts. I sent them email copies, full transcripts of the text messages and the many times I attempted to contact them via the phone. Can’t argue with the facts. -
My AC went out on a Saturday. My Home Warranty reached out to E & A Mechanical and I received a call back on the Sunday to offer an appointment next day. The technician Andrey, was the best. Not perturbed about my dog. Changed a fuse and a capacitor and did not try to upsell me. Very professional and friendly and explained what he was doing.

I called my home warranty due to leakage near the furnace of AC.
The technician came by and took them about 1-2 days for the report to come out because a field supervisor needs to review it. That’s the first red flag I noticed, maybe the field supervisor “needed” to review so he can charge as much.
Report came out and I 5 things they noticed.
3 was covered by insurance, which equivalent to almost $500. And 2 had to be out of pocket: 1) AC coil maintenance/clean and 2) ptrap modification. Which will cost me about $400.
E&A doesn’t want to go through with it if I don’t agree with the out of pocket charges.
HOWEVER, I have a family friend who also has AC company and had a second opinion.
He said the out of pocket charges are marketing scheme because those are easy fix that even none experience technician can do.
I told that to the E&A that info and they had to contact supervisor but still doesn’t want to go through with it.
They already charging my insurance $500 and still wants more.
Just be careful of this company that will try to find a way to make more money out of you.
