We used PuroClean for carpet cleaning and couldn’t have been more impressed. The crew was very down to earth, yet professional, and explained each step of the process. They were respectful of our home, and did a great job. We highly recommend them, and will definitely use their services again in the future.

We got water in our basement and called Puro Clean of Des Moines! We had the best experience. They were fast to respond and started the drying process right away! John and Daniel were great as well as everyone that came into our home. Hopefully we never need them again but will not hesitate to call them for help!

Wow what a great experience from ALL of the guys at PuroClean in Ankeny. My basement flooded and the Owner took my call at 9pm. They were very professional and respectful of my home. A basement flood is stressful, but these guys had great positive energy the entire time. They worked directly with insurance and had great communication with me.

In a world of fleeting customer service and dependability, John and his team exceeded expectations! We had a leaking roof and dryer vent that had led to water backing up in our attic - a major problem that was only going to get worse. They rushed over, knowing it was urgent. They were quick, thorough, and had my best interests in mind through the entire experience; they solved my current problem, and helped me in preventing future issues. Puroclean is a fantastic company to work with. Our sump pump failed at the end of May 2025 and we ended up with an inch of water in our finished basement. I called Puroclean and by chance was able to connect with Daniel immediately. He was over within two hours and by the end of the day he had the bulk of the water cleaned. Within a few days he had the basement dried out. The demo teams were great. The painter was great. The whole experience was A+. John and Daniel made a miserable situation pretty easy to manage. I hope to never deal with a wet basement again, but if I *had* to, Puroclean would be my choice to help make it right again. HIGHLY Recommend!

After dealing with a water backup issue in my basement, I initially contacted a few of the large, well-known companies. They made big promises but didn’t deliver—either they didn’t show up, weren’t responsive, or failed to follow through. Frustrated, I decided to call a smaller company I had heard good things about, and I’m so glad I did.

This small company truly delivers big results. From the very beginning, their professionalism stood out. Daniel, the job lead, was courteous, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all my questions. He handled the job with real care and made sure everything was done right the first time—no shortcuts, no confusion.

Amazing service!!!! If I could give more stars I would! They went above and beyond to help us when other companies took a very long time to even get an estimate together. Estimate was exactly what was stated, great communication, reliable workers, and professional. They came out the next day after our initial phone call, got an estimate same day, and we were able to start work the very same day after giving the go-ahead! Transparent throughout the whole process and Johnny was great to work with! We will be recommending them to all of our friends and family!

Horrible horrible. Would absolutely never recommend this company to anyone. They were arrogant, negligent, and incompetent. Their communication was awful. They claimed to have done mold remediation in our basement, but based on further testing we had done, it was found that they had only elevated the mold counts in our home. They also charged us a hefty price for the amount of work they did (mind you it was done incorrectly anyway).

Had the pleasure of working with Shawn and John. I would highly recommend. Prompt, courteous and professional. Communication was always great with them. I knew I was being taken care of from start to finish. Great team to work with!

My home was in need of restoring our carpet back to looking new again so we contacted PuroClean of Des Moines and John Alessio arrived and tackled this project with utmost Professionalism and knowledge of how to handle this job. My three bedrooms, hallway, landing and steps now look like new again and I can now get ready to schedule an OPEN HOUSE for potential buyers to. See and appreciate our home. I contacted PuroClean for a quote on some water damage that happened to my condo unit and they were able to come the next day which was awesome. They photographed my entire house, said it would be 2-3 days for the quote, and I haven't heard from them since. I've reached out multiple times with no response and it's been almost two weeks now. I will be seeking help elsewhere.

We had a small black mold issue. We got multiple estimates and were recommended to do multiple things to fix the issue. PuroClean was the most competitive bid we received, and they proposed the least invasive option. We appreciate them giving us options, and not just selling us on services we did not need. We are very happy with the results from PuroClean!

The duct cleaning crew arrived at our property, prepared to accomplish their cleaning mission- effectively, expediently, and professionally. The guys were very friendly and listened carefully to our needs. The air ducts are now spotless, and there is no odor left from the process. Those nasty dust mites are effectively eliminated! I recommend this service to anyone needing their ducts cleaned. This procedure is a way to make our home a healthy environment for us to live in.

I contacted Puroclean of Desmoines to handle some water removal and the service I got from them was great! I got paired a great worker in Daniel Lizarde and he was nothing but professional and respectful , he got the job done in a reasonable time frame. Recommend them greatly.

I had a great experience with the Puroclean team recently. I had cat urine in my carpet. I had it professionally cleaned immediately, but it did not get rid of the smell. I called Puroclean and Shawn and John came in and tore back my carpet to the odor. They ripped up the pad and treated the floor. Another team came in and put down new pad and stretched it back into shape. It looks great and the smell is gone. Thanks to all! Mary

We contacted Puroclean for mold remediation services in our basement. We have a toddler and my wife is pregnant so getting this addressed is critical. One of their workers visited our house for the inspection, gave us the rundown and the remediation was performed. He implied that post air quality testing wasn't inherently needed to save us some bucks so we opted out. They also claim that I told them not to remove some of the mold contaminated area (which makes zero logical sense). By their own admission, I was not given a liability waiver to sign, agreeing about the risk associated by not extracting contaminated infrastructure. They also admitted - they didn't even run post remediation testing to demonstrate healthy air for their records. A few months later my family was still exhibiting some mold toxicity/exposure symptoms so we got an air quality inspector to visit and perform third party testing. As soon as our inspector arrived, he commented instantly that the remediation was not done correctly. Come to find that there was still VISIBLE mold present in the area treated and the air quality test demonstrated that there still was elevated spore counts, only in the basement. With this new information, we contacted Puro again to inform them of the failed remediation and Puro returned with another practitioner to "resolve" the issue. My wife said they were there for 30 minutes or so, and didn't contain the site like they did the first time. We then contacted our air inspector again and he mentioned that it was absolute negligence and makes zero sense to not contain it, because of the possibility of exacerbating the situation and spreading mold spores even more. We ran another air quality test within the same day of the second "mold treatment", air quality reports came back with an even more elevated mold spore count, again this is from failure to contain the site. Puro is adamant about their own air quality testing which again isn't necessary given the hard evidence/documentation and seems to be a conflict of interest. We requested a refund yet were denied and would like to proceed with a different company to resolve what should've been done. They refuse to refund because the remediation was done “per their standards” but they can’t claim that because they didn’t even run air quality tests post-op to prove successful treatment. One of the Puro employees also had some arrogance to his tone while talking to my wife over the phone about fixing the second problem, instead of proper customer service he was dismissive and would hardly let her get a word in. One of the bosses' has been great at communicating but we still need our refund and do not want them back in our home. We do not recommend PuroClean for mold remediation services, they have demonstrated repeated failure and negligence.
