Electrical work is licensed for a reason — it's one of the few trades where a mistake can threaten lives and property. This is the short version of how we'd approach hiring, and the criteria embedded in every GigoPro profile.
Ratings tell you the average; recent reviews tell you the truth about right now. Read the last handful of reviews, not just the stars. An electrician who fixes the reported problem, explains what was done, and leaves the site clean is the one you can trust inside your walls.
Electrical work is regulated in every state — verify the company is licensed and insured for your type of job. A residential repair specialist is not automatically a solar or commercial expert. Check that the company performs your exact type of work.
Reputable electricians diagnose, then give a written, itemized estimate: labor, materials, and permit costs as separate lines. Ask whether the diagnostic fee is credited toward the work if you proceed, and whether the quote is flat-rate or time-and-materials.
Ask whether your job requires a permit and who handles it, and what warranty covers the work. Professional companies answer these questions without hesitation — and pull permits because it's the right thing to do.
GigoPro makes each step faster — reviews, ratings, service areas, and contacts are all on one profile page, so the vetting happens before you even pick up the phone.

A few facts about how electrical systems work — and how they fail — will keep your home safe and your bills lower.
A breaker that keeps tripping, a room with no power, an outlet that sparks, or a plan to add solar panels or an EV charger — this page is your starting point. GigoPro's Electrical hub gathers verified electricians and electrical companies from cities across the United States in one place, so you can stop cold-calling and start comparing on facts.
Every electrician you find here lists what they actually do: electrical repair and troubleshooting, panel upgrades, wiring and rewiring, lighting installation, EV charger installation, solar and renewable energy, home automation, safety inspections, generators, and commercial work. Each profile shows the services offered, the area served, recent customer reviews with ratings, and contact details. Shortlist three or four pros, request written estimates, and book the one that fits — including for emergencies.
Quality on GigoPro is not self-declared. Before any business appears in search results, we moderate the profile: we check that the company is real, actively operating, and actually performs the work it claims — for regulated trades like electrical work, we look for proper licensing. Listings that stop being active are hidden automatically. That is what "verified near you" should mean.
Pick your city below to see local electricians, ratings, and current availability — or read on to understand the services, get a simple hiring checklist, and learn a few facts that will keep your home safe and your bills lower.

Electricity runs everything in your home — and because it is dangerous, it deserves licensed hands. Here is what each type of service involves and when you are likely to need it.
Tripped breakers, dead outlets, flickering lights, and partial power loss are the most common calls. A licensed electrician diagnoses the root cause — an overloaded circuit, a loose connection, or a failing component — rather than just resetting the breaker. Repeated trips are a warning sign that should be investigated, not ignored.
Older homes often run on 100-amp panels or outdated fuse boxes that can't handle modern loads. Upgrading to a 200-amp service gives you the capacity for new appliances, electric vehicles, solar, and home additions. If your breakers trip often or you're planning major electrical work, a panel assessment is the right first step.
Adding outlets, replacing switches, installing ceiling fans, dimmers, and light fixtures — including GFCI outlets where water is near — are everyday electrical jobs. A professional ensures everything is installed to code, grounded, and safe for your family.
Homes with aging wiring — aluminum wiring or knob-and-tube systems — face real fire risks. Electricians rewire outdated systems, add new circuits, and bring homes up to modern code. If you smell burning, see discolored outlets, or own an older home, a wiring inspection is worth booking.
Owning an electric vehicle means installing a Level 2 charger on a dedicated circuit. Electricians handle load calculations, panel capacity, permits, and installation—and many companies now list EV charging as a core service. This is licensed work that should never be a DIY project.
Solar panel installation, solar energy systems, battery backup, and solar panel maintenance are a growing part of the electrical trade — and a strong category on GigoPro. Companies here design and install rooftop systems, connect them to the grid, and maintain them over time. If you're considering solar, get two or three proposals and compare system design, equipment, and warranty terms.
From kitchen task lighting to outdoor security and landscape lighting, electricians design and install lighting that works with your space. Outdoor lighting adds safety and curb appeal, and professional installation keeps low-voltage and line-voltage systems safe and code-compliant.
Smart thermostats, smart switches, security systems, home cinema wiring, and whole-home automation are increasingly common requests. Electricians install and integrate these systems so they work reliably — and safely — with your home's wiring.
A professional inspection reviews your panel, wiring, outlets, grounding, and code compliance — before a home purchase, after a remodel, or when you're concerned about an older system. It's the cheapest way to find hazards before they become emergencies.
Standby generators keep critical systems running during outages. Electricians size the unit, install the transfer switch, and connect it safely to your panel. If power outages affect your home or business, a backup power assessment is a smart investment.
Offices, retail spaces, and restaurants need reliable power and code-compliant work. Commercial electricians handle tenant improvements, new wiring, lighting, and maintenance — and many offer priority scheduling to minimize business downtime.
No power, sparking outlets, a burning smell, or a breaker that won't stay on — these don't wait for business hours. Emergency-ready electricians keep after-hours teams for exactly these situations. Check a company's profile for stated emergency availability before you need it.

Yes. Browsing businesses, reading reviews, and comparing electricians is free for everyone. Business owners can create a basic listing at no cost.
Every profile goes through moderation before it appears in search. We check that the business is real, actively operating, and actually performs the work it claims. For regulated trades like electrical work, we look for proper licensing, and we automatically hide inactive listings.
Start with ratings and recent reviews, then confirm the company is licensed and insured for your specific type of work. Contact two or three providers, ask for written estimates, and compare what each quote includes, not just the bottom line.
Yes. Create a free business profile to reach local customers searching for your category. You can update services, photos, and contact details anytime, and customers can book you directly from your profile.
Business owners update their own profiles. Our team also refreshes hub pages and removes inactive listings to keep search results current. For example, this page is reviewed and updated monthly.
Most significant electrical work — new circuits, panel upgrades, rewiring, and solar installations — requires a permit and inspection in most jurisdictions. A licensed electrician handles the permit process and schedules the inspection. Ask about permits before you book.
Common signs include breakers that trip often, adding major loads (EV charger, solar, heat pump, new kitchen), or still having a fuse box or a 100-amp panel. A licensed electrician can assess your panel and load capacity in a visit.
Electrical work is regulated in every state. Ask each electrician for their license number and proof of insurance before work begins. Professional companies expect these questions and answer them without hesitation.
Costs vary by job type, region, and complexity — there is no honest single number. Reputable electricians give written estimates after assessing the job, and comparing two or three of them is the best way to understand what your work should cost.
Yes. After your job is done, you can rate the electrician and describe your experience. Verified reviews from recent jobs help the next homeowners in your city choose well — and keep listed professionals at their best.
Marco and his guys came to my newly purchase condo and installed new light fixtures and updated the outlet and switches. He worked fast, was clean, and was very professional.
What is the best Electricians you will ever find
Great electrician! It is evident that Mr. Kemper has years of experience. He completed two tasks quickly and with great confidence. I highly recommend Kemper Electric Inc. for all electrical needs.
Don Kemper is as good as they come, plus is a really nice guy. Look no further if you need a first rate electrician who does quality work for a reasonable price. Don Kemper has over 50 years experience and is the actual guy who will show up to do the work. He is very responsive. I was a complete stranger to him and he texted me back within the hour--and then showed up at my house a couple of hours later the same day at the exact time he promised. He did the wiring and installation for a bathroom renovation that involved two new wall fixtures and a new switch. I took one look at the tools and supplies in his well equipped truck and could tell he was a real pro, which he proved with the nice job he did. I'll definitely use him in the future and recommend him.
Kemper Electric is an outstanding company. Don Kemper is a true professional and has done electrical work in my home. Recessed lighting was put into my kitchen which looks great as well as a light replaced and changed which is over my kitchen table. A dimmer was added as well which gives a very soft look to the room. I even called Mr. Kemper back for a doorbell which had to be replaced. I would highly recommend this company. The owner is ethical and knows his trade well and this is proven in his work.
If JM electric serves your area, look no further. This is by far the best experience I've had with electricians in my area. I had them install an electric car charger and they did a splendid job. They went above and beyond and even helped with some issues I had in the house. Joe, Patty, George and Steve make an excellent team! Highly recommend.
