Hiring an HVAC professional is a decision about your budget, your comfort, and sometimes your safety — so it deserves more than an impulse phone call. This is the short version of how we'd approach it, and the exact criteria embedded in every GigoPro profile.
Ratings tell you the average; recent reviews tell you the truth about right now. Read the last handful of reviews for a company, not just the stars. A contractor who fixes the reported problem, explains what was done, and leaves the site clean is the one you can trust with a multi-thousand-dollar decision.
Confirm the company actually performs your specific job — a residential AC repair shop is not automatically a commercial rooftop specialist, and vice versa. Check that your address is inside its service area, and look for stated response times if your situation is urgent.
Reputable pros will inspect, then give a written, itemized estimate — clearly stating labor, parts, and any permit costs. Price differences between honest quotes reflect equipment brands, warranty terms, and installation quality, so never choose on the bottom line alone. Ask what each quote includes and what it excludes.
Licensing and insurance requirements differ from state to state and shift over time. In regulated jurisdictions, ask for the company's license number and proof of insurance before work begins — never after. Professional companies expect these questions and answer them without hesitation.

Whether your air conditioner stopped on the hottest day of the year, your furnace is cycling on and off in January, or you are planning a full system replacement for your home or business — this page is your starting point. GigoPro's hub gathers verified heating, ventilation, and air conditioning contractors from cities across the United States in one place, so you can stop calling around and start comparing on facts.
Every company you find here lists what it actually does: air conditioning repair and installation, furnaces and heat pumps, ductwork and ventilation, indoor air quality, commercial HVAC maintenance, and emergency call-outs. Each profile shows the services offered, the area the company serves, recent customer reviews with ratings, and contact details — so you can shortlist three or four pros, request written estimates, and book the one that fits you best.
Quality on Gigo is not self-declared. Before any business appears in search results, we moderate the profile: we verify that the company is real, actively operating, and actually operates in the category it claims; for regulated trades, we verify proper credentials. Listings that stop being active are hidden automatically. That is what "verified near you" should mean, and it is why tens of thousands of homeowners 100 000 start their search here every month.
Pick your city below to see local providers, ratings, and current availability — or read on to learn about the services, get a simple contractor-hiring checklist, and find out what to expect before you book.
The contractors in this directory cover every part of that equation, from a quick fix to a full replacement. Here is what each type of service involves, and when you are likely to need it.
Central AC repair covers everything from a tripped breaker and a refrigerant leak to a failing compressor or a blower motor that needs replacing. If your system is older than 12–15 years [verify & localize], or repairs keep adding up, a new installation — including ducted central systems and ductless mini-splits — can be the smarter long-term call. Companies listed here service AC units of every age and brand, so a technician visit starts with a proper diagnosis, not a sales pitch.
Furnaces, boilers, and space heaters keep your home livable through winter. Typical jobs: no-heat emergencies, noisy operation, pilot and ignition problems, carbon-monoxide safety checks, and full furnace replacement. Annual pre-winter maintenance is the cheapest insurance you can buy against a breakdown in freezing weather. If your heat stops working, prioritize companies that list emergency or same-day response in their profile.
Heat pumps heat and cool from the same efficient unit — air-source systems are the most common, with ground-source (geothermal) options for larger projects. Contractors in this category install, repair, and replace heat pumps, size them correctly for your home, and handle the ductwork modifications that a switch from a furnace often requires. If you are replacing an aging system, a heat pump conversion is worth having with two or three licensed pros before you decide.
Your ducts carry every degree of comfort to every room. Duct cleaning removes dust and debris that builds up over years; duct sealing stops the leaks that let conditioned air escape into attics and crawl spaces; and duct repair or replacement fixes crushed, disconnected, or rodent-damaged runs. If rooms in your house never quite reach the set temperature, airflow problems are often the culprit — worth checking before you blame the system itself.
Modern HVAC work goes beyond temperature. Air purifiers, whole-home filtration, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, ventilation and fresh-air systems, and UV treatments all change what you breathe. Companies offering indoor air quality services can test and improve air in homes with allergies, asthma, new paint or renovation dust, or simply poor circulation.
Offices, restaurants, retail spaces, and apartment buildings have very different needs than homes — rooftop units, package systems, and scheduled maintenance contracts that keep tenants comfortable and equipment warranties valid. The directory includes commercial HVAC contractors who can respond quickly when a business space loses heat or cooling, and who will quote preventative maintenance to avoid the midnight call-out later.
A spring tune-up before cooling season and a fall check-up before heating season catch small problems while they are still cheap to fix. Maintenance typically covers filter replacement, cleaning coils and burners, checking refrigerant charge, testing safety controls, and confirming airflow. Many companies publish maintenance plans in their profiles — compare what is included (and what an emergency visit costs) before you commit.
Systems break on weekends and holidays. Emergency-ready contractors keep after-hours teams for exactly the no-heat, no-cool, or gas-odor situations that can't wait until Monday. Check a company's profile for stated emergency availability and response policy before needing it — that is far easier than cold-calling on a Christmas morning.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with any company in my entire life. The terrible follow up and dishonesty I experienced was on a level I hope I never have to experience again. I waited over a month for these guys to make it out to my house. They said they stay pretty booked up, but based on high reviews and a warranty on all their work I decided it was worth the wait. This company was supposed to come out and assess a leak around my chimney. I was away on a military orders during their visit, my wife was present while they did their inspection and they took a video of the inside of the chimney and looked around on the roof based on what she and they told me. They charged $270 for this service. Prior to the physical inspection occurring I was told by one of their office members to expect between $1,000 and $1,500 for a leak repair as a rough number. The physical inspection came with a repair quote of over $3,000 and involved tearing up shingles, water proof membrane, replacing rotten/wet ply wood with new ply wood, putting down a new water proof membrane, new shingles, and new flashing around the entire chimney. Upon returning home and feeling concerned with the quote, I had a member of my church who has spent most of his career in roofing come out and evaluate the leak with me. He found it in 5 minutes, and the repair involved none of what was in my quote. The leak was on the car port side of the chimney where no shingles are even present. The repair cost $400 in material and took 2 hours of labor. This cost $650 in total and my leak is gone. During my two week wait to get the team that actually fixed my problem out to my house, I called the office requesting to speak to someone about serious concerns I had with my quote. I made this call 4 times and never got a single returned phone call. At this point I escalated my concerns and requested to speak with the manager. David, the manager, was out to lunch. I called back after his lunch and explained that I wanted a leak repair quote, and that the quote I got was for a bunch of unnecessary work and didn't even address the area that leaked! I told him I wanted a refund for the $270 consultation. He dodged my refund request by saying they did me a service and said we wants my business and that he would get me an adjusted quote since it seemed there was something off. He promised he'd call me back that day. Even he failed to keep his word, I never heard back from him. Several days later I called for him again, but he was out to lunch again when I called. I requested a call from him as soon as he returned. Instead of calling me back, he had the field tech that did my $3,000 quote call me back. I informed the field tech that I wanted a refund and was doing business with someone else at this point. After explaining everything that happened up to this point even the field tech agreed that a wrong consultation was done and that the quote had errors based on everything discussed. He said it sounds like it should just have been a leak assessment. I laughed and said that's exactly what I asked for! He said that sometimes they like to just redo everything to guarantee they cover the issue since they warranty their work and do their best not to have to come back out free of charge to do more work. Do you see the issue here? I have to pay over $3,000 involving tons of unnecessary work so you guys can cover your butts? He assured me he'd get back with me by end of day next day with details about my refund and apologized for what I'd been through. Guess who never called me back? Incredible! I never heard back from him either! Now, this morning, over a week later, I get an email from the field tech saying my quote is still good and that they'd like to do business. I am absolutely astounded. They tried to take advantage of my family during the holidays and a time where finances are uncertain for most, failed to return all calls I made when I expressed concern, and don't even have the decency to own their mistake and refund my money. Do not do business with this company.
Our experience with TN Fireplace and Chimney was a great experience. Had some concern about using our wood burning fireplace stove/chimney as weather turned colder (older home) and had them come out to inspect/clean. Did have some damage and replacement was covered by homeowners insurance and they helped with that process. TFC did what they said they would, at the price they said they would do it for, and when they said they would do it. We had a delay on chimney cap/mortar work because of rain but they got us back on the schedule as soon as weather allowed. They responded to messages and calls quickly. The work crews made no mess and were very clean. Have also had them come do a leak repair and waterproof chimney. Will know how that worked next time it rains but they guarantee work, so not worried. Plan to use for annual chimney cleanings in the future. 12/13/22
All of the gentlemen who came to our home to complete the work were excellent! This has been a lengthy process due to some shipping issues (COVID related?) and I’ve been disappointed with communication with I suppose Office/management. The work is impeccable. I would rate a 5 if not for miscommunication and what was supposed to be a 3 day project has been 3 months. Excellent work Mike & Austin! The tile looks amazing!
I really dislike posting negative reviews about a business. However, the way this business has ignored me and my husband for weeks is ridiculous. Each of us has called at least twice a week since our inspection on August 16th. The company did come out and do the inspection. However we were promised when they left that they would send us a report detailing the inspection and whether we could use the fireplace. They have NOT sent us this report and it is now over a month later. They have not responded to our numerous phone calls trying to remedy the situation. Posting this negative review is our last resort. They never answer the phone or return or voicemails. At this point we would not trust this company to do any work on our fireplace.
Mike and Austin redid the mortar and secured the brick in my 80 year old chimney. My yard was not particularly easy for them to set up . But they figured out a way to work safely and did an awesome job. I am very pleased with the finished product. Everyone that I had any contact with by phone or in person treated me very nice. And the cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend them.
We liked TN Fireplace generally and have been pleased with their services. However, I recently called them to get a fix for the interior of my fireplace wall that was cracked (which I am happy to pay for), but I told them that it was one of their inspectors that actually put that crack there. Since they had done the inspection, I didn’t pay any attention to the hairline crack that I noticed after they left. But I used the fireplace twice this year and the crack grew to a gouge. So I called them for a quote to tell them. They blocked my number. I guess they thought I wanted them to pay for it.
