It’s an okay fence. It doesn’t look terrible from afar but upon any kind of closer inspection, it’s clear that the work down here was suboptimal. We are not even one year into our fence and we are already dealing with a lot of problems.

When we first called, the owner was very nice and the price seemed in line with other quotes we had gotten. In order to get our business, the owner promised the price we were paying would include staining. He told us to just call after 6 months to allow the wood to dry and they would come back out to stain. When we called back for this service, however, the owner was incredibly rude and stated he would “never” have promised anything like that. If I had been on the phone alone, I may have just chalked it up to me misunderstanding but my husband and father were both listening to the initial call with me and they both confirmed with me that he definitely made that promise. Just a crappy way to get business.

Outside of that, the communication between the owner and his employees seems to be bad. When the crew first got there to install the fence, the foreman seemed to think we’re were getting a 4 foot door. We were actually getting a 10 foot door. My husband noticed that the posts were way too close and went out to investigate. When the foreman realized his mistake, they decided to use a quick dry cement for the posts. That was obviously a terrible idea and not what we had paid for. After only a couple of months, the 10 foot post split down the middle and now the entire door is falling in on itself. It’s incredibly hard to open and is essentially not functional at this point. I cannot express how difficult it is to just open the door to our backyard—you have to swing the door back and forth and open the lock at just the right time for it scrape open. If you’re carrying anything with you, forget about it.

Further, the fence is riddled with bowing and lifting boards. Again, this fence is not even a year old. We are going to have to pay someone else to come over, fix like 10 bowing boards, demolish the non-functional door, and rebuild it just to get what we already paid for a year ago.

This company has terrible communication between employees, a snake oil salesman as the owner, and charges top prices to leave you with a subpar product.

Mr Downs did the best job ever. I do my homework and know he uses the top rated sealer available and that hot rubber crack filler machine makes all the difference. He worked around weather issues, price was fair and I’ll call him next time this is needed.
