Stevo and team were great. We wanted a fireplace and to move a window… but when we removed the window we found the siding needed to be fully replaced due to faulty install by the original builder. Stevo’s team quickly replaced the siding, framed in a fireplace, worked with our designer/fabricator for the stone face and installed a fireplace we were told we couldn’t get for months. Our project was delayed by the fabricator at no fault of Vertical. We are very happy with the finished product.

The VCG team was great to work with, very professional throughout the entire process. I had them build a new staircase off our back deck and refurbish all our powder coated railings on the front and back deck as well as the master deck. They took all the necessary measurements and properly planned and estimated the project. They were great communicators throughout and did a fantastic job. The quality and craftsmanship is excellent, I will definitely hire them to do work for me again!

The team at Vertical Construction Group is phenomenal -- highly professional experts able to take on all range of construction projects. They took time to understand what I needed, explained their approach, bid the work and completed it on time and within budget. In short, they say what they are going to do and they do what they say they are going to do. They work hard and their work is careful and high quality. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

We've worked with VCG lead Adam Stauffer on two projects, one interior, one exterior… and have a third smaller project in the works. The big job inside was to transform an open loft into a closed second-floor office and playroom, sheetrocking it in to leave a seamless cathedral ceiling in the front living room, figuring out the upstairs lighting, including adding a skylight, as well as transitioning us from tank-based to a tankless water heater and improving the stairway between the floors. Adam orchestrated concrete, railings, a skylight roofer, plumbing, framing, sheetrocking, finishing, painting, lighting (and occasionally his boss :-). Exterior, deck railings, fencing, sidewalk, non-skid walkways, .... Adam is a real problem-solver. He can do, in seconds, what would take us hours as homeowners to attempt. When we proposed our kitchen’s first cabinets, he had them hung in no time. We wanted rails on our inside stairs to the second floor, which required shortening a wall and figuring out how to put a rail on top, as well as how to parallel the rail with one he then installed on the facing wall. Unflappably cheerful. Always respectful of property and our privacy. Super easy to work with. Creative solutioner. Collaborative. Got us what we wanted. All around great guy. Couldn’t have asked for better.

Above and beyond our expectations! Our home was built in 1906 and the VCG team ensured the home was functional & modernized without loss to the 100+ year old character. I'd be lying if I didn't say stress - time and emotions were part of the changes. However, the VCG team ensured we were as involved as we wanted to be. Every step the team removed barriers: completing on-time, within original budgeted estimates (even with a few size-able additions) and calmed stress with in-person conversations. So happy with the VCG team that I continue to use them for other projects - big and small!!

Vertical Construction Group did an outstanding job on our major remodel, ensuring every detail stayed true to the Craftsman style we envisioned. Their expertise in intricate craftsmanship brought our vision to life beautifully. The team was excellent to work with—professional, communicative, and supportive throughout the entire process. All of their subcontractors were equally a pleasure to work with, demonstrating the same high standards and dedication to quality. We truly appreciated their guidance and commitment, making what could have been a stressful experience smooth and enjoyable. Thanks to their hard work, we are genuinely happy with our new home and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Highly recommend their work!

2/10/20 - Editing to add that since this project's completion, we have attempted several other smaller projects (a couple larger ones) either finding subs on our own, or thinking we could rush through with another contractor, and none have gone as smoothly as our project with Vertical Construction. Lesson learned, stick with Veritical Construction.

    Project Date: September 2013
    Project Price Range: $50,000 - $100,000

We hired Vertical Construction for a major renovation of a bathroom in our 1925 home and have to say that we absolutely adore our new bathroom. They were professional, and went above and beyond by respecting our family's altered time schedules, particularly the child's nap time. There were large numbers of people coming and going through our home throughout the process, however we always felt as though each employee was respectful of our home and trustworthy. When I discussed this concern with the owner Stephen Creer, he assured me that there wasn't any member on his team that he wouldn't trust in his own home. I can't stress how much of a relief it is to trust the strangers in your home.

One of the aspects that I appreciated the most was Stephen's ability and focus to stay on budget. If things were drifting off the plan for whatever reason (discontinued items, unforeseen old home qwerks, my suddenly brilliant idea to vault the ceiling, etc), he was on top of how the change in plans would effect the bottom line and gave options as work-arounds. I believe we'll be using Vertical Construction for future projects (we have many on the docket) and look forward to it.

The posted photo of the 'original' bath is the staged bathroom from the selling agent. I assure you, that the staging made the bathroom look MUCH better than it was. (Pipes so corroded that water couldn't get to the toilet, plumbing sheared off at the wall, deteriorating flooring from who knows when, etc.) It was a righteous mess of ugh.
Just an example of the extent of the work was all new plumbing, electrical, vaulted ceilings, moving walls/toilets/tub/sinks, new window, and custom mill-work including a hidden cabinet.

Vertical Construction is an outstanding company. Our experience, from start to finish, was overwhelmingly positive, thanks to the professionalism and dedication of every team member. We highly recommend Vertical without hesitation for any future projects. When asked for a trusted general contractor, Vertical is the first and only name we share. They recently completed a major exterior renovation on our home in North Seattle, and the results are truly stunning—beautiful and of the highest quality. Throughout the process, we felt confident not only in their skill and craftsmanship but also in their excellent project management. Their communication was clear and consistent, and the project was completed on time and within budget. Finding a reliable, skilled, and professional general contractor can be challenging, but with Vertical Construction, we have found exactly that.

I was in need of a new bathroom so we searched the internet for some different companies. We chose them because they were the most responsive and the easiest to work with. We love how our bathroom came out and would absolutely use them again!

Metis does amazing work and their team is absolutely top-notch. Could not be happier with the experience, and with the work itself.

The job was refurbishment of the planter boxes that run the length of the Infinity Condominiums building in back along the property line. The job was well managed with clear communication, efficient and caring subcontractors and satisfying unit owners of the adjoining three units while working in a tight spot.

Full disclosure I run a subcontracting business that does projects with Metis Construction. Metis is a company that cares about the customer and does great work. They strive to be socially conscious and that goes very far in the construction world.

Metis led the construction on a major backyard project for us that included tons of grading, soil removal, and other demolition. They then had their master carpenter Grant lead the construction of a hot tub pavilion that exceeded all our hopes for the time, care, and quality of materials and labor put into it. We had them coordinate and install (literally!) tons of boulders and stone steps to surround the pavilion. They also crafted a custom large fire pit with custom cover that showed that there isn't a trade or material that they can't master. At every decision and step, they were meticulous and thoughtful with wonderful, professional communication. They more or less lived in our backyard for four months and we couldn't have had a more professional and kind crew move in.

Metis' Tom Hall is an outstanding craftsman who went far above and beyond the call of duty while rebuilding our deck. The architecture and design of the deck was very complicated, and presented a number of fabrication challenges. Tom was scrupulously careful in his preparations and measurements, and extremely meticulous in his carpentry: precision cutting, sanding, fastening, and mounting led to a structure with beautiful joinery. The final result looks like an art project! Tom is exceptionally conscientious, has a strong sense of integrity, and is a careful and clear communicator. I would not hesitate to recommend Tom for any remodeling project with difficult, complex construction requirements.

We have used Metis Construction to do the buildout of both of our Hello Robin cookie shops and if we even open a third, they will be our top choice again. Their staff are skilled, passionate, engaged, reliable and all around good people. They seem to hire for personality type as well as skill set. They are a great fit for our company values and quality standards.

We have had the pleasure of being subcontracted by Metis Construction on 2 projects so far. Both projects showed their professionalism, attention to detail and craftsmanship above industry standard. I hope Metis has many more projects that have a need for our services. Their crews were great to work with.

The Metis team has tremendous pride in design and craftsmanship which were brought to life with creative, smart details throughout our new home project. Mikel understood our vision clearly and was always practical in his approach coupled with skillful execution. We were impressed by the thoughtful and consistent communication and genuine sense of humor. The company emphasis on values of equality and social justice were another reason to be proud choosing Metis.

The Metis Construction team went above and beyond what we could expect from a commercial tenant improvement buildout. Our construction project began just prior to the shut-downs, the entire Metis team helped us navigate a difficult situation. We felt trust in our team with Sarah, Josh and Cheng, they created a fun, safe and collaborative environment to bring our vision to life. The final product reflects their incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. The space exceeding all of our expectations. We would absolutely work with Metis on any future construction needs!
