This started way back in January when we noticed water stains on the ceiling in the spare bedroom and kind of just ignored it because, well, winter. By March it was clearly getting worse so I started looking into what was going on and turns out the roof was shot - like 25 years old and multiple layers of shingles which I guess is not great. All Ways was one of three companies that came out. Their guy spent maybe 45 minutes up there and actually showed me pictures on his phone of what he was seeing which none of the others did. We signed the contract in April and the actual work happened mid-May. I remember because my mom was visiting and she kept watching from the window like it was a TV show. Took them the better part of two days to tear everything off and put the new roof on. They found some rotted decking in one corner that needed replacing which added a little to the cost but they called me before doing anything extra. Six months later everything is solid and dry up there.
All Ways replaced our roof about two months ago and the thing I keep coming back to is just how different the house looks now. The old shingles were this faded green that made the whole place look tired. The new ones are a deep brown and the house suddenly feels like it belongs on the street, if that makes sense. The crew was efficient and kept their work area pretty contained which mattered because our lot is narrow and our neighbor parks close to the property line. Debating whether to redo the front porch next year now.
