HF Darling employs the finest site prep and pile-driving specialists in New York State. It's always a pleasure providing storage and offices for their myriad projects. The Bills Stadium job is lucky to have them working there! Tony, Alex, Dan M., and Dan D. make an incredibly hard-working and knowledgeable team. They should be very proud of their company. I highly recommend their services!

It is always disappointing to have to convey a poor review, however, in this case it is earned. Have a situation with some storm damage and called WCR and Son. All good, made appointment for estimate, which was completed on time. So far, so good.
Things then went downhill. A week went by with no follow up. Then another. Then another, then another. Meantime called, texted and e-mailed, asking for proposal, which was promised ASAP each and every time.
Here I sit nearly a month later and have not received anything. Therefore I have moved on to another provider.
It's unfortunate when a service provider behaves in a way that seems to indicate they are not interested in one's business.......sadly this seems to be prevalent these days.....

Great company for all home needs. Very professional in all aspects, including timeliness, quality of work and courteous employees. Would not hesitate to use Rott again. Very pleased with our new roof and entry door. Chris, Scott and Pat were top shelf in responding to all concerns. Thanks William C. Rott.

I’ve used William C. Rott & Son after repeatedly hearing their praise on a local radio station for over 15 years even before I was a homeowner. Their company history and promised higher quality standards reassured me that they were not a short-term roofing company. I don’t mind paying a little more for this noticeable increase in quality work and materials and the reliability that they will still be there in 10+years.
I first used them around 2012 to remove roof box vents, an attic fan, a utility pole that had previously had overhead service wires attached to it, and then add a ridge vent. Work was perfect and quick (less than a day) and they even replaced a few missing lose shingles on the house and my detached garage for free!
I used them again May 2019 to remove an old kitchen hood roof vent and and old chimney flue, which has cleaned up the roof almost 100%. They communicated very well for setting up the appointment, payment, and coming out to do the work in the scheduled day. They even accommodated me for s requested appointment time of the day. Will definitely consider again when a new roof and their higher quality vinyl siding/sheathing is needed!

This is a great local company that has been in business over 100 years. They know their business and will take care of your home just like it is their own. They will do it right the first time. The installers and ALL of their staff are kind, pleasant, friendly and polite. No question is too big or too small. PLEASE do NOT "hire a fly-by-nighter". Get it done right the first time, Call Rott! A huge thanks to Jason, Mike, Josh, Mindy, Dan, Roger, George, Donna, Jeff, Pat and Bob for making this process as easy as possible. It looks GREAT!!!!

Working with Wm C Rott was sheer pleasure! They provided emergency sealing within 24 hours of my initial call, and speedy, professional, courteous attention was their MO throughout the estimate and repair process. We were highly satisfied with Wm C. Rott and recommend them without hesitation.
Six years after the first time we hired Wm. C. Rott--see above--I'm happy to report that their customer service and repair continue to be top notch--they even followed up make sure we were satisfied with the work!

I contracted William C. Rott and Son Inc. to replace some skylights. The salesman, Chris Golde, was very thorough in his assessment and sizing for the replacement along with explaining the exact process of the work to be performed. Very professional. The main office was very accommodating to my needs as the homeowner in scheduling the work. The installer, Mike Rabatoy, was neat, professional and efficient. The paper work provided from this company concerning the job was very direct, forthcoming and thorough. There were no surprises. This company stands by their work, I would definitely do business again with them in the future. Absolute joy to have worked with William C. Rott and Sons Inc.

I had called to have an estimate for a roof repair that was leaking through my bathroom ceiling. I was told that Chris would be there at 3pm to do estimate. He called that day and said he couldn’t make it because he had to pick his kid up at school. I was unavailable to be there but he said that was not necessary. He left me a brochure sheet from the company and handwritten was an estimate for $27,000 at the bottom. It stated to replace all 3 skylights and both sections of my roof even though one section and two skylights were fine. When I contacted him he told me, and I quote, “It’s an insurance job isn’t it? We’ll ask for more than we need and can always come down.” I informed him the insurance company wanted him to contact them and give an estimate and forwarded him the info. I received a text from him the following week stating he talked to them and they didn’t offer much push back. He’d have a written estimate to me by weeks end. Fast forward two weeks, no estimate so I called. Chris tells me he never talked to the insurance and they don’t do estimates unless I sign a contract, and he was doing me a favor by even coming out to look at the roof. I called to speak to the owner, but surprisingly was unsuccessful, at which time I was connected to Bob, supposedly the sales manager and Chris’s boss. When informed of what transpired wasn’t too concerned and said if I wanted I can wait two weeks until he got back from vacation and he’d come out to look at the roof. Thanks but no thanks. I didn’t know your business was doing paying customers a favor by coming out to their house to give an estimate, not to mention inflating the estimate to make money off my insurance company.

From my first phone call to Wm. C. Rott & Son to the completion of my gutter installation, I was so impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail this company provided. Jeff was accommodating with scheduling a time for Chris to come give me an estimate. Chris was so personable and sincere in his explanation of what needed to be done. It took a day and a half for George and his partner to complete the job...and what a wonderful job they did! This company knows its stuff! Even their paperwork is top notch! They give you a folder containing documents that describe everything they will be doing along with a personal letter from Steven Rott. This town could use a lot more family businesses who care about customers the way Wm. C. Rott does!
The only thing I could use right now is some rain so I can put those gutters to work! -

Scott T was the Sales rep that I worked with. He was very clear in explaining for us. He gave us a few options for the repairs we were looking for. He was flexible in when we could meet with him, and was very Friendly when he came out to the house for an estimate. Nick did the work on our Repair, and did a fantastic job. All in all it was a great experience. I would recommend Rott to anyone.

This is a five star plus company. I highly recommend. They were very professional and customer oriented. Everyone from the receptionist, sales consultant, and craftsmen were excellent to work with. They listened to my concerns and explained what they could do. The workmanship is outstanding. I am very happy with the end results. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

We called William C Rott after receiving a mailer that showed a nice picture of a recently sided house in the neighborhood. I had to book our estimate out a couple weeks, as the person scheduling us said that “both homeowners MUST be present” so we had to work around two schedules and make sure we were going to home that day. I explained to the woman that we weren’t sure what kind or color of siding we wanted, and she reassured us that Dan Rott would be bringing books and examples of our choices so we should not worry about not being quite sure what we wanted, which I liked. I also had several particular questions about some ornate wood molding our old home has, which I would like to preserve and not cover up.
Fast forward to the day before our scheduled appointment, Dan leaves me a voicemail saying he was at the house (we were not home) because his schedule was too full the next day, (when our appointment was scheduled for), and that he would measure and I was to call him. I was annoyed, as that did not allow me to look at options or ask about my concerns, which I had identified that I needed when I made the appointment. I called him back and tried to ask him about my concerns, and possible options but it was impossible to sort it all out over the phone. He mentioned some ideas and then said he would call me back with an estimate of a few options. I have yet to get a call back and that was on April 17th. I called Dan and left him a voicemail reminding him last week, but I still haven’t heard anything. At this time William C Rott has lost a huge job – siding my entire home and two car garage – and I cannot recommend them to anyone due to poor customer service. I’m very disappointed. Update: Their follow up apologies were pathetic with no effort to earn my business -

James and his crew did a fabulous job putting on our new roof. They were highly professional and meticulous in their work. James kept me updated as the project went on. When he encountered a few issues, he went out of his way to explain the problem to me and how he would solve it. There were no surprises. We are very pleased with the result and the crew left my yard cleaner then before they started (they even rolled a magnet over the yard to pick up stray roofing nails). WC Rott may be a bit more expensive then other roofing companies but you get what you pay for and they guarantee their work. i highly recommend them. Ask if James is available to work on your job. You won't be disappointed..

My contractor highly recommended William C. Rott and Son, Inc. as the company to call for replacing the gutters on my house. I called and Donna gave me an appointment for a day or two later for an estimate. Scott came to do the estimate and also inspected the gutters on the garage and the flashing on the roof. The need for replacing the house gutters was urgent, as nails were coming out all around the house. He kindly and at no cost pounded in some nails that were loosening on the garage gutters and said that that replacement job as well as repairing the flashing on the roof could wait until Spring. The house gutters were replaced within 10-14 days after the estimate was done, and they look terrific and are functioning beautifully. During a heavy rain earlier this week (first week of December) I saw that the garage gutters were not functioning properly and I called the company promptly to arrange for new gutters to be installed and the flashing repaired. Scott came out 2 days later and I signed the contract for this work to be done; it is promised to be done, weather permitting, in about 2 weeks. Thus I am a HAPPY REPEAT CUSTOMER. I highly recommend this company for its excellent and friendly customer care and service and for its outstanding workmanship. It is amazing that they do this work year-round, weather permitting, which I learned that most other companies do not do.

We had a full siding and door replacement done by Rott in December 2019 - January 2020. All work was of excellent quality and done with exceptional attention to detail and aesthetics. The crew (Scott, John, and Andrew) were fantastic throughout, very responsive to questions and requests. The inevitable glitches that came up were handled easily and without issue. Very important to us, the crew was assigned to our job only, and the work was done from start to finish without interruption in about three weeks. Highly recommended.

I would not hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family. -

Did not get to the estimate without deciding to look elsewhere.
Clearly they have good client experience and reputation, but it is an insult when they require both homeowners to be home for it. They are not the only one but a very small percentage.
I am taking time out of my day, to give you access to my home so you can provide and accurate estimate. If you are trying to eliminate tire kickers, that's fine but I'd respect your business model more if you charged an estimate fee which if I hire you, get's applied to the job.
My wife and I are capable enough to review the estimates and don't feel we need a sales pitch or, have to arrange our schedule to accommodate a company that should be doing what it can to earn my business, not chase me away.
