Gearhart called and apologized for a disrespectful employee who has since been fired. They have been in business forever and rightfully so. They are a top notch quality company!!!

Came in an emergency all the way from Bowling Green to Deshler to clean a clogged septic tank pipe. The drains have never worked this well since we have lived here. Thanks Neil for a job well done!

The receptionist was very rude. It made me feel uncomfortable when she kept asking me to leave a door unlocked or a hidden key for the plumber to enter when I wasn't home. When I told her I would be home, she said "You mean you're going to be home all day?" It made me feel like she didn't want me around while they were working. I work third shift, yes I'm home all day. 😳

About 6 weeks ago I had a plumbing problem at my home and they were the only local company available to come look at it (it was on a Saturday afternoon). I got an estimate that my bill would be $150.00 to which I told them to go ahead and fix the problem. Upon receiving my bill, I was charged $185.00. This was a little frustrating because it was $35.00 more than I had been quoted but I gave them the benefit of the doubt, wrote them a check for $185.00 and went on with my life. Fast forward two weeks later: same exact problem in my house. I call them again and ask the gentlemen if I'm going to be charged again because clearly they did not fix the issue the first time. His response is he doesn't think so but he never really gives me a clear answer. At this point, I know if I call a different company and have them fix it then I will be charged so I hesistantly give them the okay to fix the problem yet again. Low and behold two weeks later I receive yet another bill for $150.00. I call and speak to the lady in charge of billing and ask her why I am being charged for the same service twice when clearly it wasn't done correctly the first time. She says she will talk to her boss once he gets back from vacation the following week and let me know. I wait 3 weeks and don't get a call from them. Finally, I take it upon myself to call back and ask and am told I still owe the $150.00 because there hasn't been maintance kept up on the house's plumbing for the last 4 years and because of this it took them twice to fix the problem and I need to pay for both. I'm not normally one to complain about things but this seemed completely absurd and it looks to me like a company that gives no shits whatsoever about company service and I want to make sure others are aware of this and think twice about using thier services.

2 years ago we called Gearhart to replace our hot water heater, Neil came out and looked at it he told us he was having supply chain problems, so we called again a year ago Neil told us he would stop by that evening, a no show.we called again in April, they sent a technician out, he told us he would order the parts and then schedule the work, in May we called the Office spoke with Jennifer who ask us if we wanted to order the parts... we told her yes.we had not heard anything so we stopped by the office and spoke to Neil and Dennis and were told that they would be here July 13th at 8:30 another no show, we made a trip into town to find out that it was never put in the computer. We canceled the job. We have been loyal customers for 20 plus years, a furnace and Air conditioner in our BG home, a gas fireplace, a new furnace, plumbing, and furnace maintenance program our current home, we have spent thousands of dollars, been loyal customers and we can no longer recommend Gearhart Plumbing and heating to our friends and family. It difficult to understand what is happening to them.

Had an appointment scheduled for an estimate and the rep from Gearhart never showed up at my house. I left a message with Adam expressing my disappointment and was called back by Adam saying he forgot about the appointment. Would not recommend Gearhart.

Amazing responsiveness! I sent an email last night and then got a call this morning from Ryan asking if he could swing by and assess. He showed up 15-20 min later, as planned, and quickly identified the issue. He had it replaced and fixed within 15 min. Can't ask for better service than that!

I had a problem with my furnace. Gearhart promptly came out to diagnose the problem. The 28 yr. old furnace and AC were replaced and the two-person crew did a great job. They were professional, and exceptionally helpful and friendly. They installed the former furnace and AC and I previously used them for an emergency plumbing problem. I highly recommend Gearhart.

We called Gearthart as we believed our furnace needed a filter rack. We wanted to then purchase whatever filter rack needed.
A tech came out, opened our furnace and confirmed - yes, it needed a filter rack. Would call in 1-2 weeks to provide info on rack model and price. We could then order + set up day for install. The tech was at our house for about 12 minutes.
3 weeks later we received a bill for $130. Immediately called to check in for an update. Stated tech would call us back. Long story short, this occurred 4-5 more times over the course of an entire year. We never received any call back from the tech. We spoke with Gearhart again this week (roughly a year later at this point) and they admitted they didn't have any record of who our tech was or model number of a filter rack.
TL;DR: We paid $130 for someone to come to our house for 12 minutes to confirm our belief that we needed a filter rack. -
Ran into a spot troubleshooting a furnace issue. The gent that came out was knowledgeable and friendly. Found something I'd missed and didn't try to mislead me or upcharge me. Easy peasy problem fixed and I appreciate that. I've used them several times over the years and recommend them.

At first contact, I had great expectations from Gearhart when Neil could come over and review my issue the same day. After discussing the issue for 30 minutes, and I was able to answer with all the proactive things done or attempted, he had to go to another job and said he would get back to me.
A few weeks, turned into a month and so I tried to call several times to understand what the next steps were. Each time that I left a message, there was no return phone call as a result. I even tried to ask the operator if she could contact me when Neil was in and available but that didn't even work.
In the end, maybe Gearhart is so busy that they can't respond to all potential customers, but I just feel that when you meet and shake someone's hand, you deserve to be treated a little better.
With this kind of reliability, I personally would look elsewhere. -
Absolute lifesavers. They came in within an hour. I really appreciate them. Some of the most friendly people I’ve met

Terrible work absolutely would NOT recommend and Brayden gernhart is a horrible person to work with strongly advise staying away

Fortunately I haven't needed them for anything major but always call them for my annual backflow test. They are reasonable and reliable and always friendly. They never leave a mess and are not a bother during my business hours. I highly recommend these peeps. They're great!!

I called Gearhart when the alarm (that they installed a few years ago) on my sump pump went off. It was after 4 but a real person picked up the phone and they sent someone out that evening because we were supposed to get more rain. Without doubt, they saved me from a flooded basement. I haven't seen the bill yet but it will certainly be cheaper and less hassle than dealing with water in the basement and losing all the stuff we have stored down there. Thanks Gearhart Plumbing!

I put in an emergency work order at my housing complex when a toilet started seeping water at the base. I didn’t catch the name of the technician that came to help me on a Sunday night, but he was fantastic. Did a great job explaining the issue and fixing it quickly. If you see this, thank you again!

I remember getting to know the gentleman who drives this van during a service call at an apartment I lived in. It was hard not to when we had plumbing issues and he was in and out so often. Seemed like a good guy and a hard worker. Fast forward. Same guy came to our house when I called. Unfortunately I just had to deal with him outside of work. I will recommend strongly to check out other companies before you call this company, just encase they send him. You do not want this gentleman in you’re home or business.

We've used Gearhart a couple of times for plumbing issues. Employees are very knowledgeable and the owner is super helpful at answering questions and helping us find solutions.

had an emergency plubing repair needing done... called still waiting 2 years later for a call back.... went with another company... delegating servies to another company or just poor training in simple phone calls is a bad look when a pipe bursts and the home owner just wants to get the problem solved so they can turn their water back on to their house and have that service returned to normal vs a run around and no call back is the diffreence of a returning customer and someone who will never call for hvac or plubing issues or any survice you might offer.... over another company...
to add to this review yes I also had an hvac issue happen after the plumbing and no not evnen a single thought went to my mind about calling.. id rahter dyi do months of research, and buy all new tools and take what ever training needed to charge this new system with refrigerant before even considering taking the time to call you because even if everything was wrong id have something over a no call back and nothing.... -
Highly recommend Gearhart! We've utilized them several times over the last few years.. from furnance repairs, new water heater install and most recently, water line repair and replacement. The technicians were knowledgeable, kind and quick. From the initial phone call to the work being done, everything was fantastic! You can't go wrong with Gearhart!

Fantastic experience with Gearhart trying to detect a leak between the second and first floor of my home. The repair person took time to try to plan out and think through where the leak was most likely coming, before determining the fix. I feel very confident that he found it, and appreciate his thorough work. Very easy to schedule and arrived within the time window they quoted.
