My husband and I ordered an entire 3600 sq ft house of flooring from the Home Depot in Carmel, IN. Part of the flooring was engineered hardwood and the other part carpet. When the hardwood arrived we picked it up from the store and stored inside of our home for approx 15 days while we waited on the installers to arrive. Upon arrival of the installers we were informed that every box needed to be open for 48 hours and the install could not happen this day; mind you we have an entire house of subfloor at this point since all the rip out was already completed. 48 hours passed and the install went in flawlessly, the installers did a fabulous job and we couldn't be more pleased; the miscommunication from Home Depot in the beginning wasn't their fault, so how could we be displeased with them? Fast forward 10 days and we are ready for carpet install. The installers arrive at our home and prep for their install. Prior to installation we review the carpet... it's the WRONG color carpet. 4 shades lighter than the carpet we ordered and paid for.. we are hosting Easter in 4 days.. we cannot not have carpet in our home. With the promise from the Home Depot store ASM Tony, stating they would make this right with a 48% return of our monies for the wrong carpet being laid in our home we accepted the 4 shades lighter color to get this job done 4 hours later than planned and this issue on Home Depot's end caused the installers to work past 10pm. It has been 23 days since the carpet was laid and we STILL DO NOT have any refund. We look at the wrong carpet daily and are not pleased. The ASM of the store has jerked us around day after day offering $1000 refund which is not even close to 48% promised the original date. I would NEVER recommend Home Depot to anyone and cannot believe the lack of service they've provided for an ISSUE that was THEIR ISSUE to begin with. We asked for the right carpet and were informed the fasted they could get it was 10-12 days.. well again that didn't work due to our Easter plans. So as of today Home Depot has lost the business from a high paying client and a very dissatisfied client still waiting on resolution for their error. Brittany Keels

Here is an update from Sept 2024. As a result, we changed our review from 2 stars to 1 star: DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT FOR WINDOW/DOOR INSTALLATIONS We had a terrible experience with Home Depot’s Home Services. In February 2022, we hired them to replace our front and back (sliding) doors. A design consultant came to our home, took measurements, and helped us choose the doors. They were installed a few months later. Since then, the shootbolt lock on our back sliding door has broken multiple times. We’ve tried to get it fixed through Home Depot, but nothing has been done. No other contractor will touch it because the door is exclusive to Home Depot, meaning they can’t source replacement parts. If we had known the door was exclusive, we would have purchased something else. Currently, the lock still isn’t working. In March 2024, we noticed water and dirt marks inside the tram window above our front door. Two glass companies confirmed the seal was faulty and suggested we contact Home Depot, as it should be covered under warranty. We started trying to reach out to Home Depot in April 2024. First, we called and emailed the original design consultant—no response. In May, we sent another email, this time to his superior. Still no reply. In June, we escalated further and finally received a voicemail stating they would order replacements. However, no follow-up was made. By mid-July, we left another voicemail with no response. In early August, after sending yet another email, someone called back asking for pictures (which we had already sent several times). Since then, nothing has been done, and we are now in September with no further communication. I would strongly advise against using Home Depot for any major home improvement projects that involve their installation services. Additionally, if you do make a purchase, ensure that the items can be sourced elsewhere, so you can find replacement parts if needed. The following is our original review from 2022: After working with a couple of other contractors this summer, we were not satisfied with our experience with Home Services at the Home Depot. We purchased two exterior doors from The Home Depot and hired Home Services to perform the installation. The initial sales visit to the home was satisfactory. The salesman came back a couple of times before we pulled the trigger on the purchase. The actual installation process was okay as well. The installers, third party contractors, were knowledgeable about construction and were able to get the doors in with little issue. We did need a follow up visit due to one of the doors not working properly. The frustrating part of the process is dealing with the Home Services office. Ours was located in Michigan. It was difficult to get a hold of people or to have them call you back. During the three months, they never provided an updated status of the project. We would recommend looking elsewhere for your door installation needs. If we had it to do over again, we would probably have looked into using the same company that we used this summer to replace our windows, Windows Depot USA of Indianapolis.
