    I have a new construction home where front and back yard needed to be done. I called Black Diamond and Matt came over. I told him what's my idea and the materials I want. Then he already had the whole picture how it's going to be. It's nice and easy to work with Matt. I texted him anytime and he would reply to me ASAP. He also send me pictures to know the progress.     We really wanted to love Black Diamond after reading such great reviews and seeing photos of their work, but for us, customer satisfaction doesn't just come from the job looking nice - it's the entire experience including cost, communication, time, professionalism, how the company addresses issues, etc. Unfortunately, the people we worked with fell short in many of these areas, which drew out the simple job longer than necessary. We had all sorts of problems from the polymeric sand not being put down properly (which looked sloppy) to water hammer from the PSI being set too high in the irrigation system (which can cause significant damage/leaks to pipes), and we often had to contact them repeatedly to have someone fix things because the job wasn't properly monitored or inspected for quality in the first place - our checks were just collected and we were told "we should be good" (mistake on our part for giving them the final check before ensuring the job was totally completed with no issues, but good thing we are proactive people who stayed on them to fix things). We hired a smaller private landscaper to finish the areas of our yard that we couldn't afford BD for (or that they don't do, such as a concrete walkway) and not only did they charge significantly less but we had zero issues with their work, which makes a larger, more expensive company like BD look bad in comparison. We literally paid them an amount that would've purchased a brand new Hyundai Elantra or Honda Civic (I know because we own both) yet the smaller company outshined them and only charged about 30% of the price for comparable work. I've read other reviews mentioning the same people we worked with at BD that seem to be the opposite of our experience, and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with how much a customer spends as we were told from the beginning that our job is small for them and if it would've cost a little less they wouldn't have even accepted it. If that's the case it's a shame, because while the amount we spent may seem insignificant to them it took us quite a while to save it and we expected it to stretch farther than it did, especially since we got much more for our money with the private company. I have also seen BD's BBB complaints, which I recommend checking out before hiring them since we did have some of the same issues that others took to the BBB for help. The light at the end of the tunnel is the paver warranty, I suppose. Our yard does look beautiful which is why we are giving three stars, but for the price we paid versus what we actually received, we don't feel it was worth all the trouble. Overall we would not recommend Black Diamond.

    I highly recommend this company if you want it done correctly, on time, and with a warranty. Chris, was very accommodating and knows how to keep you happy. He’s very professional and prompt with his work. He is very detailed and knows what needs to be done. With all of the questions my husband and I had, he was able to fulfill and more to accommodate our concerns. He is very responsive with any questions you have during and before the project. Furthermore, Chris and his company was the only company that gave us an estimate on the same visit with design plans, that’s amazing! Oscar’s crew was astonishing. They were able to remove a very large piece of concrete without any heavy machinery; since the concrete is right next to a pool. They worked fast and accommodated all of our concerns. One of my major concern was the drainage in the back yard. Oscar and Chris told me exactly where the water will go and showed what elements will be installed. Chris and Oscar are very good at what they do. They are both professional and will keep their customers happy. I’m glad they did our front yard, backyard and both side yards. Yes, we came back to Chris to add more projects. We added 2 more projects during the 1st project. Even after the whole project was done, Chris and Oscar’s crew came back to accommodate our concerns. They did an awesome job in accommodating our needs. Highly recommend this company if you have the extra money to spend on professionalism, quality and warranty! Thank you Chris and Oscar for a wonderful experience; you guys did a fantastic job with our landscape. My family and I can now enjoy and relax with a lovely view. Thanks again. We will definitely contact this company again for future projects.

    We just bought our new home and wanted to have our backyard the way we wanted. We had an idea and showed Chris. He tried to give us what we wanted but since we are not designers, he made some recommendations and explained why he thought it would be better. And he was absolutely correct. His redesign was simple, neat, and gave us a more beautiful and usable space. He was there from planning to completion and his crew did a fantastic job. Our backyard looks so much nicer than we ever imagined.
